Spurned French first lady’s ‘$3M rampage’
Decision, decisions, decisions......

France’s first lady went on a “rampage,” smashing more than $3 million worth of national treasures at the Élysée Palace, when she learned President François Hollande was sneaking out for trysts with his secret lover, it was reported Thursday.

In her tantrum at the French president’s office, Valérie Trierweiler destroyed a Sèvres vase that belonged to Louis XVI, according to Closer magazine, which first reported his affair with actress Julie Gayet.

The French government office responsible for presidential furniture “categorically denied” the report.

Wendy Davis’ Ex Asked a Court to Order Her Not to Use Drugs Before Seeing Her Kids

Via Ninety Miles From Tyranny

News has broken that Wendy Davis lied about her background. She is now playing victim blaming Greg Abbott.

It is her ex-husband who talked to a left-of-center Dallas reporter. It is also her ex-husband who asked a Texas District Court to issue a temporary restraining order against Wendy Davis in 2003.

In that order, the judge ordered that Wendy Davis “be immediately restrained from . . . using illegal drugs or consuming alcohol within 24 hours before or during the period of possession of or access to the child.”

Help Clemmons Help Itself!

Like other municipalities, the Clemmons Village Council is preparing to update its firearms ordinances to comply with recent changes to state law. Currently, Clemmons bans firearms from the Village Hall and property. However, as the ordinances are updated, there is hope for this to change. Clemmons is teetering on the edge of proper recognition of gun freedom, and you can help nudge them toward the side of reason. See the “Immediate Action Required” section, below, to learn how you can help.

On Monday January 27th the Council will vote one of two ways:
  1. Anti-gun: In order to be in compliance with state law, they will vote to narrow the areas where guns are banned, but where state law gives them wiggle room, they will tediously outline specific areas where they can still force gun control onto the law-abiding voters.

  2. Pro-freedom: The Council will vote to eliminate the gun ban entirely. Naturally, complete removal of the prohibition is the simplest, safest and most reasonable approach. This would appropriately recognize the human rights outlined in the Federal and North Carolina Constitutions, and provide village leadership an opportunity to demonstrate respect for the people they serve.
Fortunately, GRNC member Bill Lawry is on the Village Council, and for the following reasons, he favors eliminating the gun ban entirely.
  • Eliminating the gun ban will make Clemmons safer. We all know that 'More Guns Mean Less Crime'. Clemmons has restricted weapons for many years. In the past, it probably seemed like a good idea, but the data has proved that prohibitions on firearms are dangerous. Thankfully there has never been a tragedy in Clemmons, but through Newtown and others, we’ve seen that 'Gun Free Zone' are really 'Protection Free Zone'. Only a good man with a gun can stop a bad man with a gun.

  • Eliminating the gun ban will reduce confusion. By leaving firearms regulation to the state there will be less risk that an unsuspecting visitor to Clemmons will inadvertently run afoul of a useless ordinance; useless because a piece of paper never has, and never will, stop a bullet.  Allowing municipalities to further regulate firearms adds confusion, but doesn't keep anyone safer.

  • The Second Amendment was established to keep free men and women free.  It is pure arrogance for a municipality to tamper with a human right that is Constitutionally recognized and protected.
Please help your fellow gun owners further the cause of gun freedom. GRNC’s victories have already set a nice pace, and we gain momentum every time gun owners somewhere in North Carolina win a victory. Please help Clemmons help itself. Liberation of your town may be next!

The Five’s discussion about the war of words between North Carolina NAACP President Rev. William Barber II and Sen. Denying that African-Americans are still discriminated against in America, he declared definitively, “I don’t think there’s racism.”

NC: Newspaper chain plans 'state-by-state' concealed weapon databases

Via avordvet

One of the reasons I got mine in Florida

A national newspaper chain with nearly 100 publications and 1.6 million readers is considering building “state-by-state databases” on concealed weapons permit holders, according to an internal e-mail.

The plan, laid out in an email from a top editor at North Carolina-based Civitas Media, could be similar to a controversial project a New York state newspaper carried out in 2012 which included an online map that identified gun owners in two counties by name and address. Civitas' database project was detailed the plan in a Jan. 19 e-mail to newsrooms in 11 states, including Ohio, Illinois and Pennsylvania.

The newest project "examines the explosion of ‘conceal and carry’ gun permits across the U.S.,” wrote Jim Lawitz, Civitas’ director of content, in an e-mail first obtained by the Buckeye Firearms Association. “Through public records act requests, we will attempt to build state-by-state databases that list those who have the right to carry a concealed weapon.”

Obama, Clintons accused in Egypt of aiding terrorists: Documents leaked ahead of trial of Muslim Brotherhood leaders

Two new, classifed documents leaked by Egyptian security implicate President Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former President Bill Clinton in the aiding and abetting of terrorists.

The documents have been entered as evidence in the criminal trials of former Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi and other top Muslim Brotherhood leaders, scheduled to begin next month in Cairo.

Obtained by Arabic-speaking former Palestinian Liberation Organization-member Walid Shoebat and posted Thursday on his website, the two leaked documents provide evidence Egyptian security forces have monitored the movements and activities of Obama’s half-brother, Malik Obama, and his Islamic Dawa Organization, or IDO. The security forces also have kept an eye on the dealings with the Muslim Brotherhood of Essam El-Haddad, the father of Gehad El-Haddad, a senior adviser to the Muslim Brotherhood in the United States and a former employee of the William J. Clinton Foundation.

Aetna CEO: We May Have to Pull Out of Obamacare, or Heavily Hike Premiums

Via CNBC, an appropriate companion story to Moody's decision to downgrade health insurers' credit outlook to "negative." At least one chief executive within the industry is openly warning markets and consumers that actions -- and math -- have real-world consequences, no matter how hard political actors spin:
Aetna CEO Mark Bertolini told CNBC on Wednesday that Obamacare has failed to attract the uninsured, and he offered a scenario in which the insurance company could be forced to pull out of program. The company will be submitting Obamacare rates for 2015 on May 15.
"Are they going to be double-digit [increases] or are we going to get beat up because they're double-digit or are we just going to have to pull out of the program?" Bertolini asked..."Those questions can't be answered until we see the population we have today. And we really don't have a good view on that." He said that so far, Obamacare has just shifted people who were insured in the individual market to the public exchanges where they could get a better deal on a subsidy for coverage. "We see only 11 percent of the population is actually people that were firmly uninsured that are now insured. So [it] didn't really eat into the uninsured population."

That was the sight that sparked concern and a flurry of 911 calls to the Andrews Police Department on Wednesday afternoon.

“I was gonna stop at Allsups but then I thought he maybe was gonna go in there so I changed my mind and just went somewhere else because it’s scary,” Arthur said.

Family Friend Fatally Shoots Boy Scout's Attacker: Police*368/KNBC_000000008652384_1200x675_125005379622.jpg

Murder charges were dropped Wednesday against a family friend suspected of killing a man who was allegedly assaulting a 13-year-old Boy Scout, authorities said.

The investigation is still ongoing. Police said the charges were dropped against Carmen Reyes, 53, because detectives need more time to gather evidence in the case.

Reyes is the family friend of a 13-year-old boy who was attacked about 5 a.m. Saturday while helping his mother load the car for a camping trip. The assault happened near 182nd Street and Van Ness Avenue in Torrance.

Portland State University presented MLK week in January, 2014. One of the events was supposed to center around "social justice". I showed up expecting to hear the usual marxist infused class warfare, racial division, anti capitalism, anti American rhetoric. I was pleasantly surprised to hear Dr. Dapo Sobomehin's speech praising America, capitalism, voluntarism, and encouraging people to look past the divisiveness of race. Dr. Sobomehin came here from Nigeria when he was 19 years old, and apparently he took full advantage of the opportunities available to him.

Whether it was intentional or subconscious, he cleverly subverted what the PSU admins likely intended to be a wackjob commie message, and made the case for how capitalism and voluntarism are the best ways to help those in need.

Some Guy Brought a Confederate Flag to Atlanta's March for Life and the Associated Press Really Wants You to Know It

Via Angry Mike

An older fellow named Alan Keck attended Wednesday's March for Life in Atlanta, equipped with a Confederate flag, a pro-secession sign, and some impressive facial hair. Judging by the Associated Press's images from that event, this guy was a bigger deal than Georgia Governor Nathan Deal, who spoke at the protest.

Heck seems to be a minor local personality—a self-proclaimed "Atlanta Rebel" so enthusiastic about the South's heritage he occasionally goes jogging with the stars and bars in tow. At yesterday's protest marking the 41st Roe v. Wade anniversary, he likely stood out within the crowd—carrying his beloved flag in his left hand and a sign reading "For the Sake of the 50 Million... SECEDE from this Abomination" in his right.

Dinesh DSouza Indicted for Allegedly Violating U.S. Election Law

Just a coincidence, I am sure, nothing to see here, just move on.......

A conservative scholar and author known recently for his critical works on President Barack Obama has been indicted in New York on charges he violated campaign finance laws.

Federal prosecutors announced the charges Thursday against Dinesh D’Souza, who made the anti-Obama documentary “2016: Obama’s America.” They say he’ll be arraigned Friday on charges he directed $20,000 in illegal contributions to be made in the New York Senate race in 2012. The funds allegedly headed to the Wendy Long campaign, who unsuccessfully ran for Hillary Clinton’s U.S. Senate seat.

D’Souza found out he was being investigated by the feds in the mid-2013, months after his anti-Obama documentary earned roughly $33 million at the box office, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The film went on to become the second most popular political documentary in U.S. history.

The Primal Bitch of Income Inequality

Via Daily Timewaster

Ever since he descended from the third heaven on a rainbow in 2008, Obama's procrustean answer for all that ails America has been an unflinching dose of Keynesian strychnine poisoning. And apparently, we have not suffered enough since he would now have us double down on an economic inhaler spiked with another stimulating dose of Zyklon B. Indeed, this president is in every way imaginable the ideological archetype of pulp-fiction's second-rate single-minded villain: a Post-Modern Judas who is driven to redouble his perfidious efforts, even as he has forgotten the scope of his ill-conceived aims.

Possessing little save the clumsy but calculated weapons of class warfare in his Lilliputian bag of tricks, Obama's precarious vantage point atop the earth has earned him the demagogue's dark augury: the unique understanding that he can prevail only by turning man against brother -- even if such a contest sets the land aflame.

But even now, as the terracotta foundations of the vaunted House of Soetero are dissolving for all the world to witness, he proudly mounts that pale steed once more to champion the tattered banner of Income Inequality -- the Marxist Provocateur's surest gambit. After having so richly won the incandescent hatred of the waning productive echelons of America, and having purchased and secured the fealty of Wall Street tapeworms and Corporatist "Last Men" with taxes purloined from our nation's toilers, Obama will once more draw political refreshment from the poisoned well of envy.

Having eschewed liberty for equality and desired the flask half empty over the full draught of economic vigor, the Progressive Prince, in the name of debauched compassion, will soon commence again the filling of Progressive rat holes with reams of worthless paper spun from our Federal presses -- all at our cooing grandchildren's expense.

Dead serious
