North Korea Starts Dismantling Key Missile Facilities

Via Red

North Korea has started dismantling a missile-engine test site, as President Trump said the North’s leader, Kim Jong-un, promised he would during their historic summit meeting in Singapore in June, according to an analysis of satellite imagery of the location.

The North Koreans have started taking apart the engine test stand at the Sohae Satellite Launching Station, said Joseph S. Bermudez Jr., an expert on North Korea’s weapons programs, in a report published on Monday on the website 38 North. The dismantling work probably began sometime within the last two weeks, he said.

art-remus-ident-04.jpg 'Tis but a gentle nudge, my friends. It's not as though we don't know what to do, what worked for centuries, and it's not as if there's a shortage of well qualified students. What are we to think when college kids can't place the Revolutionary War in the right century or find Spain on a map?
Not much of any consequence will happen until classically educated men retake the universities, dismantle the "studies" departments and chase the activists and pervs out into moving traffic, reinstate competitive entrance exams and standards of behavior, dress, and so forth.
No sane, viable society has more than twelve percent of its youth in college. Figuring two percent as clever fakes that will drop out, it leaves ten percent to return the huge investment society has made in them.

WWIII, Club Orlov - France and Germany—the countries that make up the core of the Western Imperium—are balking at US demands for increased defense spending, realizing that this is a waste of money pure and simple. Russia’s new defensive and offensive weapons systems have made most Western armaments obsolete and will preclude Western forces from operating in areas where these new weapons are deployed. The West is not only losing, but it is also being invaded—by mobs of migrants. Give it a few more decades, and at this rate the West will be no more, its slow-breeding population replaced by the much more fecund newcomers. They will come to resemble the more crowded parts of the third world.

Neighbors, Taki's Magazine - The left has seen to it that any cell-phone video of a neighborhood dispute with a black person will go viral, as long as the “aggressor” is white. Which leads to an uncomfortable question: Why would any white person want a black neighbor? Why would you want to live next door to someone who essentially has immunity from the rules, who cannot be criticized or asked to abide by the codes of conduct everyone’s supposed to follow? So congrats, leftists. You’re doing David Duke’s work for him. Whites have never been terribly keen on having black neighbors, but now you’ve made that choice seem practical rather than racist.

Confederates in Mexico

A review of Maximilian and Carlota: Europe’s Last Empire in Mexico by Mary Margaret McAllen (Trinity University Press, 2014).

Leaving forever the land of your fathers is painful, yet many Southerners turned further south, contemplating that choice on the eve of their destruction by the North. With most of their wealth bound to the land, what resource could they find to re-establish themselves elsewhere? And where was that sanctuary, when country after country was hostile to them in language, culture, government, and climate? Many Southerners emigrated to Mexico.

New England Sets the Example for the South

Image result for The Civil War in America: Its Place in History; Selected Writings of Lord Acton,

Lord Acton writes that “secession is not a theory of the Constitution, but a remedy against a vicious theory of the Constitution” — the right of a minority to withdraw from a political agreement which they no longer wish to be part of, and to escape the tyranny of the majority. Even a nationalist like Hamilton saw the balance necessary between national and State governments, and that both will be prevented from trespassing on each one’s constitutional limitations. The States would be further protected by the strictly delegated, and few, powers of the general government.

New England Sets the Example for the South

As a consequence of troubles between Napoleon’s Berlin decree and the British response, President Jefferson determined to lay an embargo on all American vessels – with a subsequent Bill passed December 22, 1807.

“The embargo was a heavy blow to the ship-owning States of New England . . . the others were less affected by it. “The natural situation of this country,” says Hamilton, is to divide it interests into . . . navigating and non-navigating States. This difference in situation naturally produces a dissimilarity of interests and views respecting foreign commerce.”

Accordingly the law was received in those States with a storm of indignation. Quincy, of Massachusetts, declared in the House: “It would be as unreasonable to undertake to stop the rivers from running into the sea, as to keep the people of New England from the ocean . . .”

The doctrine of State-rights, or nullification, which afterwards became so prominent in the hands of the Southern party, was distinctly enunciated on behalf of the North on this occasion.

Governor Trumbull, of Connecticut, summoned the legislature to meet, and in his opening address to them he took the ground that, in great emergencies, when the national legislature had been led to overstep its constitutional power, it became the right and the duty of the State legislatures “to interpose their protecting shield between the rights and the liberties of the people, and the assumed power of the general government.”

They went farther and prepared to secede from the Union, and thus gave the example which has been followed, on exactly analogous grounds, by the opposite party.

John Quincy Adams declared in Congress that there was a determination to secede. “He urged that a continuance of the embargo much longer would certainly be met by forcible resistance, supported by the legislature, and probably by the judiciary of the State . . . Their object was, and had been for years, a dissolution of the Union, and the establishment of a separate confederation.”

Twenty years later, when Adams was President, the truth of this statement was impugned. At that time the tables had been turned, and the South was denying the right of Congress to legislate for the exclusive benefit of the North Eastern States, whilst these were vigorously and profitably supporting the Federal authorities.

It was important that they should not be convicted out of their own mouths, and that the doctrine they were opposing should not be shown to have been inaugurated by themselves.

Ninth Circuit Rules Openly Carrying Firearm in Public Is Constitutional

FILE - In this Jan. 26, 2015 file photo, a supporter of open carry gun laws, wears a pistol as he prepares for a rally in support of open carry gun laws at the Capitol, in Austin, Texas. Texas is still sorting out where firearms are allowed, and where they're …

The United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit ruled Tuesday that openly carrying a firearm in public is constitutional.

The ruling, issued by a three-judge panel, is a rebuttal to Hawaii’s claim that Second Amendment protections only applied to carrying a gun openly in one’s home.

Reuters reports that the case was brought by George Young, after Hawaiian official “twice [denied] him a permit to carry a gun outside.” A District Court ruled that the denial did not infringe rights protected by the Second Amendment, but the Ninth Circuit panel disagreed.

Ninth Circuit Judge Diarmuid O’Scannlain wrote, “We do not take lightly the problem of gun violence. But, for better or for worse, the Second Amendment does protect a right to carry a firearm in public for self-defense.”

The ruling for the constitutionality of openly carrying a firearm in public comes a week to the day after a Ninth Circuit panel upheld the ruling which blocked California’s “high capacity” magazine ban.

Both rulings can be appealed for the Ninth Circuit to hear en banc. After that, the next stop for either ruling would be the Supreme Court of the United States.

Don’t Fool Yourself – The Left is Still Winning

Within the next month, I will be releasing my second book:  The Coming Civil War.  Over 384 pages, I lay out the contradictions at the heart of our republic that are driving the culture war as it burns from cold to hot, identify the major players, and assign which groups will gather to each side.  Six different scenarios are profiled therein, but to explain why such an event gains in likelihood each day, I write today to share with you the crisis.  In writing this book, I’ve come to realize just how dominant the Left has become, and my hope is after reading the below, you will also and will act with the urgency such understanding requires.

Since gaining control of the American education system, the forces of the Marxist Left have been following a recurring pattern of introducing reforms, weathering a period of conservative response, and then building upon the new cultural framework.  This generational approach to victory has been devastatingly effective and the bedrock upon how they have built their radically transformed country which we now inhabit today.

William Felix Browder is all over the news trying to play into the whole Russian/Trump affair muddling the waters. Browder founded Hermitage Capital to invest exclusively in Russian companies. Edmond Safra, the notorious banker who was the center of what was called the Money Plane, put in $25m of seed capital for Hermitage Capital and Safra’s Republic National Bank of New York controlled it. This was the Russian deal I was being asked to join. When HSBC bought Republic National, Browder embarked on a series of shared deals which has left him with complete ownership because the whole Hermitage Capital deal was at the center of a real political controversy many were trying to bury.

IMHO, I think that a 12 Station Gallows should be authorized and built by Presidential Order.  Immediately, with most haste, and extreme prejudice, upon the National Mall. Facing the Capital Bldg. In plain site from the Front Door So that all can see it without hindrance.

Station a heavily armed Platoon of US Marines all around the gallows 24/7/365. Have it well lighted, like the other National Monuments on that Stately and Sacred site. Allow the public to walk around it, to take photos, to admire it’s stature, contemplate it’s sole purpose, and recognize it’s necessity in these troubled times.

Keep the Socialist Democrat/Fascist protesters, and Liberal Narre-do-wells, SJWs and other Progressive Riff-Raff outside of the USMC established perimeter. Let this Emblem of Freedom and Liberty stand there silently waiting for the TREASON trials to end. Let the sturdy beams, bolts, and boards shining in the sun be a constant reminder to the guilty parties of just what happens to TRAITORS of this GREAT NATION. Let it stand as a reminder of who we the defenders of this land can become when pushed to the friggin limit of our collective patience.ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

The Greatest Hysteria in American History

The Greatest Hysteria in American History
But more than anything, a vote for Democrats in November is a vote for hysteria -- the greatest and darkest in American history.
You and I are living through the greatest mass hysteria in American history. For many Americans, the McCarthy era held that dubious distinction, but what is happening now is incomparably worse.

For one thing, any hysteria that existed then was directed against the greatest evil in the world at the time: communism. Then-Sen. Joseph McCarthy and the House Un-American Activities Committee notwithstanding, there really were Americans in important positions who supported communist regimes enslaving their populations and committing mass murder. McCarthy was on to something.

In contrast, the country is choking on hysteria over the extremely unlikely possibility -- for which there is still no evidence -- that Donald Trump's campaign colluded with the Russian government to meddle in the 2016 presidential election, and the absurdity that President Trump works for Russian President Vladimir Putin.

More thoughts on that last post, courtesy of comments:

"...I've never been that sanguine about Americans finally taking up arms against the Left. Maybe that's because I haven't grown up in military/gun owner circles and don't fully understand the readiness of those who have. But for the short term at least, I think the networking and the will for an extended conflict, like what Matt Bracken and others have portrayed, is lacking. The fact that so many of our "conservative" leaders are desperate to kowtow to Schumer Pelosi et al. at the first opportunity doesn't help."
No one sane on our side (and everyone isn't, sadly) wants armed open conflict, or is sanguine about it, least of all this author. Having been there first hand, the guy least enthusiastic about jingoistic saber-rattling is the guy riding the landing ship towards the beach. But ultimately, that's a bilateral deal, and the Left isn't even that sane. They don't just want it and fantasize about it frequently and publicly, they brag and gloat about unleashing it. Our side understands that sort of posturing as a precursor to it actually breaking out, because we, unlike they, understand human nature and the behavior of flawed human beings.

And/or the aggression rituals of chimps and apes, take your pick.

Vung Tau, bar girls.

Everybody needs to be wanted and loved, if you are of a sociopathic bent then you can find all of your happy moments by pulling the legs off flies or torturing small creatures.  Most of us need the love and companionship of another human being, unless you love *insert need of choice here* then it’s a different matter altogether. We are the product of our upbringing and the mould is cast early when it comes to sexual preferences, mores and the like. Vung Tau filled the needs of many, soldiers and locals.

Teflon Intellects in the wild

Raw Leftist arrogance.

That’s what came to mind the other day when I was watching my kids in one of their sports activities.  I engaged a married couple in friendly parental chit-chat.  Somehow my blog came up; generically as I didn’t identify the slant of my politics or the website’s name, just the fact of it.  In response to a question about the orientation of my blog, I did state that I was “hard core Conservative”.  Both then identified themselves as being on the other end of the spectrum.  Fair enough.  Unlike the Borgleft* I don't demand that people agree with everything I say or believe.

They did press somewhat, and for the most part it was a civil, if not necessarily friendly, conversation… but then, in the course of the discussion, I mentioned Hillary’s 30,000 emails that had apparently been forwarded to a foreign email address (with some supposition it was  Chinese).Without missing a beat the husband said “That’s not true", and added "It can’t be true because I haven’t heard about it."
