McCain and the POW Cover-Up

Via comment by Anonymous on Terrorist Identification Chart

The “war hero” candidate buried information about POWs left behind in Vietnam.

Eighteen months ago, TAC publisher Ron Unz discovered an astonishing account of the role the 2008 Republican presidential nominee, John McCain, had played in suppressing information about what happened to American soldiers missing in action in Vietnam. Below, we present in full Sydney Schanberg’s explosive story.
* * *
John McCain, who has risen to political prominence on his image as a Vietnam POW war hero, has, inexplicably, worked very hard to hide from the public stunning information about American prisoners in Vietnam who, unlike him, didn’t return home. Throughout his Senate career, McCain has quietly sponsored and pushed into federal law a set of prohibitions that keep the most revealing information about these men buried as classified documents. Thus the war hero who people would logically imagine as a determined crusader for the interests of POWs and their families became instead the strange champion of hiding the evidence and closing the books.

Almost as striking is the manner in which the mainstream press has shied from reporting the POW story and McCain’s role in it, even as the Republican Party has made McCain’s military service the focus of his presidential campaign. Reporters who had covered the Vietnam War turned their heads and walked in other directions. McCain doesn’t talk about the missing men, and the press never asks him about them.

The sum of the secrets McCain has sought to hide is not small. There exists a telling mass of official documents, radio intercepts, witness depositions, satellite photos of rescue symbols that pilots were trained to use, electronic messages from the ground containing the individual code numbers given to airmen, a rescue mission by a special forces unit that was aborted twice by Washington—and even sworn testimony by two Defense secretaries that “men were left behind.” This imposing body of evidence suggests that a large number—the documents indicate probably hundreds—of the U.S. prisoners held by Vietnam were not returned when the peace treaty was signed in January 1973 and Hanoi released 591 men, among them Navy combat pilot John S. McCain.

Solving an Unsolvable Math Problem

Unable to get an academic position, Zhang kept the books for a Subway franchise.

I don’t see what difference it can make now to reveal that I passed high-school math only because I cheated. I could add and subtract and multiply and divide, but I entered the wilderness when words became equations and x’s and y’s. Sounds like me. :) On test days, I sat next to Bob Isner or Bruce Gelfand or Ted Chapman or Donny Chamberlain—smart boys whose handwriting I could read—and divided my attention between his desk and the teacher’s eyes.

Having skipped me, the talent for math concentrated extravagantly in one of my nieces, Amie Wilkinson, a professor at the University of Chicago. From Amie I first heard about Yitang Zhang, a solitary, part-time calculus teacher at the University of New Hampshire who received several prizes, including a MacArthur award in September, for solving a problem that had been open for more than a hundred and fifty years.

NC: 94 Individual Illegal alien child rapers amassed 518 separate charges in January

Every month, it just keeps getting worse! Read the report here:

(The worst part of it is; every one of these was 100% preventable.)

Since a majority of the lawmakers in Raleigh voted to override ANY illegal immigration enforcement measures during the last session of the General Assembly, NCFIRE is laying the blame for this squarely at their feet.

If you would like to personally demand they enact and enforce illegal immigration laws at the state level, use the links below.

Is It a Crime to Let Your Kids Walk Outside?

Walking while young.

That seems to be against the law in Silver Springs, Md. As you have probably heard, parents Danielle and Alexander Meitiv are fighting an investigation by Montgomery County Child Protective Services for having let their kids do just that.

It was a Saturday in December when the Meitiv kids, ten and six, were walking home with their dad. (Mom was out of town.) They passed their favorite park and the kids asked dad if they could play there for a while — without him — and then head home by themselves, about a mile.

The Meitivs are a family that believes in Free-Range Kids, the movement I started (more on that in a sec). So papa said yes. But a little while later, someone spotted them walking unsupervised and called the authorities.

The cops sprang into action, scooped the kids into the cruiser, and brought them home. When dad answered the door, the policewoman asked to see his ID.

Back in 1960, nobody panicked when this kid held a toy gun during JFK’s speech

Nor did they freak out that he had a toy gun pointed at his own face (because…you know…it’s a toy!). How the times have changed!  Today, school children get suspended and even arrested for finger guns, LEGO guns, Nerf guns, water guns, and Pop Tart guns

Russia selects new assault rifles

The Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has selected two assault rifles manufactured by Kalashnikov Concern as new standard issue firearms for the Russian Ratnik soldier modernisation programme.

"We have already made a deal and selected assault rifles from Izhmash. It won in cost to effectiveness terms. The quality is also acceptable for us," Deputy Minister of Defence Yuriy Borisov stated on Russian radio on 24 January.

Borisov stated that two assault rifles manufactured by Kalashnikov Concern were selected by the Armed Forces: the AK-12, chambered in 5.45x39 mm, and the 7.62x39 mm AK-103-4.

Suspect killed by customer in restaurant shootout in west Houston

Investigators say a suspect was shot dead at a west Houston restaurant after a man eating late night dinner took action.

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, it all happened Sunday night just around 10:45 p.m. on Bellaire Boulevard near Eldridge Parkway.

Investigators said that a disturbance occurred inside the Mien Tay Quan restaurant, which was full of customers at the time.

One of the men involved walked out to his vehicle and retrieved a handgun, deputies said. He then fired several times through the glass front door of the restaurant.

That's when one of those customers, Anthony Yet, who happens to be an investigator with the Harris County Attorney's Office, pulled out his service gun, immediately took aim and shot the suspect right then and there.

OBAMA’S MILITARY- US Airman at Davis Monthan Air Force Base Caught Flying This Illegal Flag (PICTURES)

Via comment by Anonymous on Pledging Allegiance to the Omnipotent Lincolnian S...

As I cut across Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson, Arizona yesterday,  I noticed something strange, it was an American flag with the rainbow stripes instead of the red and white stripes.

Why is this perversion of old glory flying on a U.S. Military installation?  You’re free to express your sexual preferences in any way you want, but this is in violation of Title 4 of the USC to display a flag like this on any government installation.

More specifically  Title 4 U.S.C. § 1 : US Code – Section 1: Flag; stripes and stars on: The flag of the United States shall be thirteen horizontal stripes, alternate red and white; and the union of the flag shall be fifty stars, white in a blue field.

It doesn’t say anything about ROYGBIV and the rainbow bandits.

As I took the photo I noticed residents who live at this domicile on base are two females, and one is active duty Air Force as she was wearing a uniform:

How to Butcher a Wild Hog – Photo Essay

With so many first time gun owners out there, many are bound to be a whole bunch of first time hunters as well. Wild hogs are available to hunt year round, and because they have a short gestation cycle, there are almost no bounds to their numbers. Corn feeders can bring wild hogs in to a specific location at fairly reliable regular times, and the wild-caught meat is not gamy at all. Most would agree that especially corn fed wild hog is much better than feedlot commercial pork.

So far, every for-profit enterprise started by Al Sharpton and known to National Review Online has been shut down in at least one jurisdiction for failure to pay taxes, a review of public records in New York and Delaware reveals.

Records show that Sharpton’s beleaguered for-profit entities often overlap and intertwine, some sharing ties with the reverend’s nonprofit organization, National Action Network. Their financial records are copious, confusing, and sometimes outright bizarre, and together, they depict persistent financial woes for Sharpton, who also personally owes New York State nearly $596,000, according to active tax warrants.

“He clearly appears — based on the information that’s available to us — to have a history of noncompliance with tax obligations,” says Bernadette Schopfer, the director of taxation at New York’s Maier Markey & Justic, a certified public-accounting firm that has had no dealings with Sharpton or National Action Network. “It appears that [Sharpton] does not file [taxes for his businesses], and then opens up something else. At all the entities we see he has opened up, he has not been compliant with the obligations of the owner of a business. . . . He’s either willful in his behavior, or he’s just sloppy.”

Texas boy suspended for saying he could make classmate ‘disappear’ with ‘Lord of the Rings’ sorcery

Via WiscoDave

Aiden and his family had just seen 'The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies,' which led to his playful declaration that he too had magical powers.

Tolkien lore led a Texas boy to suspension after he brought his “one ring” to school.

Kermit Elementary School officials called it a threat when the 9-year-old boy, Aiden Steward, in a playful act of make-believe, told a classmate he could make him disappear with a ring forged in fictional Middle Earth’s Mount Doom.

“It sounded unbelievable,” the boy’s father, Jason Steward, told the Daily News. He insists his son “didn’t mean anything by it.”

Exploiting the Robocaller Gap

Here's an interesting US systempunkt -- a systempunkt is the point in a big network where even a small attack would cause the entire network to fail. This systempunkt would enable a prepared individual the unique ability to shut down a large part of the US without shedding a drop of blood.

For example, this attack has the ability to:
  • Put any company into a complete panic in less than an hour.
  • Generates hundreds of false arrests and armed police searches -- all done with a high risk of fatal injury.
  • It even has the ability (with some careful planning) to shut down all US schools (k-12 and colleges), hundreds of airline flights, and many government offices for a couple of days.
Auto-dialing Panic

How is an attack like this possible?

NC: Students want UNC to rename building named after KKK organizer

Via comment by Anonymous on Robert E. Lee’s Simplicity Sublime

William Saunders was an 1854 graduate of the University of North Carolina who went on to serve as a colonel in the Civil War and eventually North Carolina's secretary of state. He's also known for helping organize the Ku Klux Klan in the Tar Heel State.

The KKK was organized in response to the Union League.

Saunders Hall is a dignified-looking building, made of brick and framed by trees on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's historic Polk Place.
Its namesake is William Lawrence Saunders, an 1854 graduate who served as a colonel in the Civil War and eventually went on to become North Carolina's secretary of state.

But before his public service for the state, Saunders was the chief organizer of the Ku Klux Klan in North Carolina in the late 1860s.

Still, in 1922, UNC named its history department building for Saunders because he was instrumental in getting the state's colonial records published.
