North Carolina Patriots of ’61 – Lieut. J.A. Spencer of Randolph County

Lieut. J.A. Spencer was born in Randolph County, N.C., December 25, 1840; and died in January, 1905. In his veins flowed the blood of those heroes in America who were the first to resist the tyranny of Great Britain, and who under Herman Husbands fought the Battle of [Alamance], May 16, 1771, and changed Cornwallis’s victorious advance to a hasty retreat at Guilford C.H. This soil enriched by the martyr’s blood produced brave men, worthy sons of noble sires, and in the gage of battle between the North and south these sons were early marshaled beneath the folds of the stars and bars.

Comrade Spencer served with Company F, 46th North Carolina Regiment from its organization [at Camp Mangum], in March 1862, to the end at Appomattox. [The Regiment recruited men from Robeson, Rowan, Burke, Warren, Richmond, Granville, Moore, Randolph, Sampson and Catawba counties. Regimental commanders were Colonel Edward D. Hall of Wilmington and Lt. Col. William A. Jenkins of Warrenton, former Attorney General of North Carolina].

[Lt. Spencer] attained the rank of first lieutenant. Endowed with a bright mind, a cheerful disposition, unfailing humor, and a courageous soul, he was a universal favorite with his comrades, and by his exalted sense of duty and devotion he attracted their attention and commanded their respect and confidence.

He was in many of General Lee’s battles except Gettysburg, [General John R.] Cooke’s [North Carolina] Brigade being held to protect Richmond. No regiment went beyond the 46th on the battlefield, and its flag was never lowered until the curtain went down on the last act of that great drama on the 9th of April, 1865.

He bore bravely the agony of defeat, and with tears for the friends left on numberless battlefields he turned his face to the future, trusting in the god who had brought him safely through the dangers of those years of war, and with his surviving comrades began to build up the impoverished South. He engaged in merchandising, in which he was very successful.

For forty-eight years Comrade Spencer was a member of the Church, and at his death there passed one who had lived not for this life alone.”

The Rolling Stones 1975 Photo Shoot At The Alamo In San Antonio, Texas

Via Southern Nationalist Network

Back in 1975 one of the most popular rock n’ roll bands of all time, the Rolling Stones, did a photo shoot at the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas to promote a tour they were about to begin. One of the band members donned a coonskin hat (apparently in honour of Davy Crockett who was killed in battle at the Alamo). Another held a Texas flag. And legendary guitarist Keith Richards held a Confederate flag. Can you imagine the biggest rock band of our politically-correct age using Southern symbols like this in a photo shoot?

Nebraska GOP: Worried About Ron Paul Supporters

Looks like the Nebraska GOP are calling in extra security to deal with what they refer to in other states as “all out anarchy” in the delegate process. While far from the truth of “all out anarchy,” Ron Paul supporters have actually videoed entire state conventions and it is clear that is not what is taking place. Still the Nebraska GOP thinks they need a little muscle to keep the Paul supporters in line.

The July 14 state convention in Grand Island will determine whether or not Ron Paul will have his name on the ballot and in addition to that a platform to speak to the convention. This really seems to be the reason that the Nebraska GOP is bringing in extra security.

While the Nebraska Watchdog claims that chaos broke out in Louisiana, it was not on the part of Paul supporters as evidenced from an article written by Angelina Standford who was a delegate and eyewitness to the events in Louisiana. A video also documents just what took place along with the article.

The Paul supporters have been playing by the rules of the GOP. They have been succeeding at obtaining legitimate delegates, which is why they have legitimate delegates and the GOP doesn’t like it.

The executive director of the state Republican Party, Jordan McGrain said, “We’re just not going to tolerate any disruptions. This is not going to be a free-for-all.”

It won’t be a free for all. It will be by the rules. However, just like in Oklahoma, Arizona and even in Louisiana the rules were not being followed and thus I suppose the GOP expects people to sit back and take them violating the rules. Oklahoma’s delegates are divided among two separate slates and will more than likely be determined in court.

According to the Nebraska Watchdog,

In Nebraska, about half the delegates went to Paul supporters in Douglas and Sarpy counties, with Paul supporters claiming rules were violated in Dodge County and retreating to a rump convention in Fremont. Then the Paul-Tea Party movement appeared poised to get their candidate elected chairman of the party – over the wishes of Gov. Dave Heineman – until chairman Fahleson pre-empted that fight this week by announcing plans to stay in his position until his term ends next year.

And so ends the battle for the chairmanship, but the battle for delegates continues. It would be an embarrassment for Heineman – the first governor to endorse Romney – to have his state’s delegates vote for Paul at the national convention. Heineman has been mentioned as a contender for a Romney cabinet post.

McGrain said Romney and Paul supporters have been “burning up the phone lines” – making calls to delegates to ascertain who they’re committed to before the state convention. He accused Paul supporters of claiming to be from the state GOP or refusing to say who they are. A leader of the Paul movement said those calls are being made by the Paul campaign.

McGrain claims, “They’re not interested in a straight-up fight. They need to float underneath the radar. It’s just kind of their M.O. (modus operandi).”

McGrain’s statement is just not true. As an example take the Georgia GOP state convention where the GOP wanted to put forth a resolution that read,

“Whereas President Obama signed into a law the National Defense Authorization Act of 2011 and whereas section 1021 of the aforementioned act is repugnant to all American ideals, traditions and laws, in as much as it violates the United States Constitution, in that it suspends the writ of habeas and of Article 1, Section 9 and violates the 5th, 6th and 9th Amendments. Now therefore be it resolved that the Republican party of Georgia calls on the United States congress to repeal section 1021 of the National Defense Authorization Act of 2011.”

This was approved and an amendment followed the resolution which stated, “I just want to mention that if the Georgia Republican party decides to withdraw a resolution every time the vote doesn’t exactly go their way then we are undermining the very foundations of this party.”

“The Georgia Republican Party will not endorse any candidate that has voted for or supported those sections.”

Even though Georgia went to Gingrich, some attendees realized that a certain presumptive nominee approved on national television in a live Republican debate the NDAA as written and so the convention withdrew the entire resolution. Now that is not a “straight-up fight” as Mr. McGrain calls it. In fact, one convention participant said, “I just want to mention that if the Georgia Republican party decides to withdraw a resolution every time the vote doesn’t exactly go their way then we are undermining the very foundations of this party.”

McGrain goes on to put out generalized comments such as, “Frankly some of the people that got involved are supportive of Ron Paul and really don’t have any interest in doing what’s right by the Republican voters of Nebraska or by the Republican Party, who overwhelmingly said on election day that Mitt Romney was their choice. Now is clearly the time to coalesce behind our candidate.”

Except Mr. McGrain, legally the GOP does not have a candidate until the man is actually nominated. This is why he is referred to as a “presumptive” nominee and not the GOP nominee. Mr. McGrain also claim that “some people” do this and that. I’d like for Mr. McGrain to name those “some people.”

I’m sure one of the people he might name would be Tea Party leader Laura Ebke who is chairwoman of the Republican Liberty Caucus. She claims there is dissatisfaction with the state party and the Liberty Caucus wants to help bring the party back to Constitutional thinking. She even claims that many counties aren’t sending a delegate to the convention, which should cause party officials to worry.

Ebke was called to meet with the governor where it was “made clear to us that he wasn’t very happy” for her groups support of a candidate for chairman that he had not endorsed. The governor then told her that she should not challenge his authority to name a state chairman.

Friends that is tyrannical. Why does the Liberty Caucus not have as much right to put forth their own candidate as Governor Dave Heineman? I have a word for Mr. Heineman: This is still America and people have a right to speak and to vote as they like. The people of Nebraska don’t need their governor calling them in and talking to them like little children that they should not oppose your candidate.

While Ebke says that they are prepared to lose, she hopes that there won’t be a “real rowdy convention” and that the “party plays fair.”

I do too. I hope there is lots of video on just how the convention is conducted. This has been crucial in several states as to seeing how the rules are being followed and how they are not. While I am not one that endorses all actions of all Liberty Caucus people, I am also not one that endorses all actions of the establishment either. Both have their rotten apples. But the convention is governed by rules. It would be nice to see them followed by all parties involved.

Gallup Poll: Obamacare Does More Harm than Good to Economy

More Americans feel President Barack Obama's Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act will hurt the economy than help it, a Gallup poll finds.

The Supreme Court upheld the constitutionality of the law last week.

The Gallup poll finds that 46 percent feel the law will hurt the national economy, while 37 percent feel the law will help it. Another 18 percent said they didn't know or said the law will have no effect on the economy.

Reconstruction of Southern Society for Profit

The great tragedy of the Northern war upon the South is the racial hatred and animosity it engendered as freedom was taken from one and given to another at bayonet-point, and private lands confiscated and redistributed at whim. Had the abolitionists instead worked for a practical and peaceful solution to the riddle of African slavery and encouraged compensated emancipation, how many lives would have been saved, would American constitutional liberty have been preserved, and would better racial harmony prevail today?

Bernhard Thuersam, Chairman
North Carolina War Between the States Sesquicentennial Commission

"The Official Website of the North Carolina WBTS Sesquicentennial"

Reconstruction of Southern Society for Profit:

“The great mass of Negroes in South Carolina at the end of the Civil War hoped and expected freedom meant that each would soon be settled on his own plot of earth. The prevalence of this roseate view of the future among the freedmen was confirmed by Mary Boykin Chestnut of Kershaw District, wife of a former Confederate senator and general, and herself heiress to three generations of cotton culture, who reported that the Negroes “declare that they are to be given lands and mules by those blessed Yankees.”

Similarly, a Northern correspondent, arriving in Orangeburg after a trip through the lowcountry, declared that the desire for land was active and widespread among the Negroes. “Some of the best regiments have white soldiers who tell the Negroes they are the rightful owners of the land, that they should refuse to work or go to the islands to get lands.”

“Forty acres and a mule,” that delightful bit of myopic mythology so often ascribed to the newly freed in the Reconstruction Period, at least in South Carolina during the spring and summer of 1865, represented far more than the chimerical rantings of ignorant darkies, irresponsible soldiers, and radical politicians. On the contrary, it symbolized rather precisely the policy to which the [Northern] government had already given and was giving mass application to the Sea Islands.

Hardly had the troops landed, in November 1861, before liberal Northerners arrived to begin a series of ambitious experiments in the reconstruction of Southern society. One of these experiments included the redistribution of large landed estates to the Negroes.

The first step in this direction was taken in June, 1862, when (the Northern] Congress levied a direct tax on the States, apportioning a certain amount of the sum to South Carolina. The property in the occupied area in the [Sea] islands thus became subject to its share of the tax. Since most of the owners were within the Confederate lines, 187 plantations passed into the control of the [Northern] Treasury Department.

[It was] proposed to punish the South for her apostasy….[and] to reform her by the “division of her land” among….”the children of the soil,” by a “free press” which would do its “share toward electing an anti-slavery union governor in South Carolina,” and by “free schools” where “White and black, the “poor white trash” and the “nigger” will learn that “knowledge is power.”

Behind the Treasury Department’s tax commissioners for South Carolina, [were] the men charged with the sale of confiscated estates. Behind the commissioners, rather like the black-cloaked villain of the melodrama, lurked a mysterious array of Northern speculators and army sutlers who conspired to control the land themselves and take advantage of the fabulously high price which Sea Island cotton then commanded.”

Manslaughter Charges Filed Against Philadelphia Officers

The Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office has filed numerous charges, including voluntary manslaughter, against two former police officers in connection with a fatal shooting in 2008.

DA Seth Williams is following the recommendations of a grand jury which spent nearly two years investigating the case against 39-year-old Chauncey Ellison, Sr. and his ex girlfriend, 44-year-old Robin Fortune.

Both officers were off-duty on November 17, 2008 when they drove around in search of a local teen who had stolen a pizza from the couple’s two sons.

They found the suspect on the 1900 block of Renovo Street in front of Lawrence Allen’s home.

Williams says when Ellison drew his gun, Allen stepped in and tried to be a peacemaker.

“He actually said to Sgt. Ellison, ‘why do you have a gun out? All this over a pizza? I will give you money for the pizza. Let’s just calm all this down’.”

But witnesses told the grand jury that Ellison, who was egged on by his enraged girlfriend, shot Allen once in the back. The victim died nearly three months later.

Army Manual Outlines Plan To Kill Rioters, Demonstrators In America

Via Enemy of the State

“Warning shots will not be fired”

A newly leaked US Army Military Police training manual for “Civil Disturbance Operations” outlines how military assets are to be used domestically to quell riots, confiscate firearms and even kill Americans on U.S. soil during mass civil unrest.

The document (PDF), which is dated 2006 and was used for a self-learning course at the U.S. Army Military Police School at Fort McClellan, makes it clear that the operations described in the manual apply to both “CONUS and OCONUS,” meaning inside the Continental United States and outside the Continental United States.

The document outlines how military assets will be used to “help local and state authorities to restore and maintain law and order” in the event of mass riots, civil unrest or a declaration of martial law.

The primary function of military assets will be focused around, “breaking up unauthorized gatherings and by patrolling the disturbance area to prevent the commission of lawless acts,” states the document, adding, “during operations to restore order, military forces may present a show of force, establish roadblocks, break up crowds, employ crowd control agents, patrol, serve as security forces or reserves, and perform other operations as required.”

The manual also describes how prisoners will be processed through temporary internment camps under the guidance of U.S. Army FM 3-19.40 Internment/Resettlement Operations, which as we reported earlier this year, outlines how internees would be “re-educated” into developing an “appreciation of U.S. policies” while detained in prison camps inside the United States.

Don’t Send Your Kids to College & Only in America

*Patrick Henry College

There are a few decent colleges in America, including *Hillsdale and Liberty, where conservatives can safely ensconce their offspring. But if they pony up the dough to send them to Harvard, Yale, Berkeley or even the University of Michigan, they’ve really got no business griping if the kids return home convinced that Obama is the messiah, that Israel is on the wrong side of the Middle East conflict and that socialism is the most wonderful economic system ever devised by the mind of man.........

.........Someone recently sent me a list titled “Ten Political and Economic Imponderables That Should Drive You Crazy.” The imponderables that grabbed my attention were:

(1) Only in America could politicians talk about the greed of the very rich at $40,000-a-plate campaign fund raising events.

(2) Only in America could people claim that the nation still discriminates against blacks when we have a black President, a black Attorney General, and a federal workforce that is roughly 18% black when the black population is only 12% of the total.

(3) Only in America could we have had the two men most responsible for our tax code — Timothy Geithner, the head of the Treasury, and Charles Rangel, who chaired the Ways and Means Committee — turn out to be tax cheats who claim to favor higher taxes.

(4) Only in America can we have terrorists kill people in the name of Allah and have the media primarily react by fretting that Muslims might be harmed by the backlash.

(5) Only in America could the people who believe in balancing the budget and sticking to the Constitution be referred to as extremists.

(6) Only in America could you require a driver’s license to cash a check or buy alcohol, but not to vote.

(7) Only in America could the rich people who pay 86% of all income taxes be accused of not paying their “fair share” by people who don’t pay anything at all.

Racial violence explodes in more states

While most Americans were commemorating the nation’s birthday, racial violence, lawlessness and animosity marred Independence Day celebrations in Georgia, Florida, Ohio, California, Texas and Illinois.

Chris Rock started the day off with a bang: “Happy white peoples Independence Day,” he tweeted. “The slaves weren’t free but I’m sure they enjoyed fireworks.”

In Chicago, Ill., some were enjoying the celebration until they were set upon by a mob of dozens of black people intent on violence. One man was taken to the hospital, where he remains in good condition. Eleven black people were arrested and charged with assault.

As is often the case, the mainstream media did not report the mob was black. Witnesses and others took to the Internet to set the record straight.

“For all that don’t know, the perpetrators are African-American teens,” said a man self-identified as Jonathan Kizer on the Chicago Tribune website. “I work in the area and I’ve seen firsthand what these teens are doing. It’s really bothersome bcuz they are hurting innocent ppl, but also perpetuating a negative view of the black community. Not all of us are like this, but people would never know from what they see and hear.”

Local television reporters did remind people this is the latest in a series of mob attacks in the downtown and upscale North Side area.

High Treason

........And for the support of this declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

The concept of pledging their lives, fortunes and sacred honor were not mere words. Yet, despite the risks involved, and odds for failure being very high, the signers were willing to put their names down on parchment for all the world to read. At the time of the American Revolution, Great Britain was arguably the most powerful nation on the planet, with the most powerful navy. What these men were doing, transformed them from British subjects, to rebels, and finally into American Patriots. The last step in this evolution would only take place if the American colonies were successful in overthrowing the British yoke. Had the revolution been unsuccessful, all of these men would have forfeited their lives. In essence, in signing the Declaration, they were potentially signing their own death warrants. They were guilty of High Treason in the eyes of the British Government.1 And what was the penalty for High Treason?2

  1. That the offender be drawn to the gallows, and not be carried or walk: though usually (by connivance length ripened by humanity into law) a sledge or hurdle is allowed, to preserve the offender from the extreme torment of being dragged on the ground or pavement
  2. That he be hanged by the neck and then cut down alive
  3. That his entrails be taken out and burned, while he is yet alive
  4. That his head be cut off
  5. That his body be divided in four parts
  6. That his head and quarters be at the king’s disposal

However, the treasonous party wasn’t the only one to suffer punishment. The same law also stipulates that the guilty party is also subject to “forfeiture” and “corruption of blood.” Forfeiture means that all of the persons property goes to the state. Corruption of blood prevents the person’s heirs and immediate family from owning property or businesses. The family of a person convicted of treason is ruined.

This is what the signatories of the Declarations of Independence were risking.

DOT Construction Signs Hacked To Read 'Impeach Obama'

Via Legal InsurrectionLink

Several electronic road construction signs around Anchorage were hacked late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning, according to the state Department of Transportation.

Signs that normally display closure and detour information, like the one on Minnesota Drive near 100th Avenue, were changed to read “Impeach Obama.” That particular sign wasn’t fixed until sometime between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. Thursday.

It happened because DOT says it doesn't lock the boxes on the signs that hold the message control pad.

Construction managers say sign-hacking has never happened before, so they never thought to lock the boxes.

ObamaCare's Lost Tribe: Doctors

Back at the at the dawn of ObamaCare in June 2009, speaking to the American Medical Association's annual meeting, President Obama said: "No matter how we reform health care, we will keep this promise: If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period."

But will your doctor be able to keep you? Or will your doctor even want to keep you, rather than quit medicine?

For the longest time now, since day one of the Affordable Care Act, we have been having arguments over the mandate to purchase health-care insurance, requirements that insurance companies accept policyholders regardless of health, and price discrimination in insurance policies.

And of course this past week, the Supreme Court—or something resembling the Supreme Court—outputted a decision on the tax status of the insurance-purchase mandate, the states' obligation to pay for Medicaid and as a bonus, the Commerce Clause.

Have you noticed what got lost in this historic rumble? Doctors. Remember them?

12 Incredible Obamacare Quotes That Show That Our Wretched Healthcare System Is Headed Directly Into The Toilet

You might as well stick a fork in the U.S. healthcare system because it is finished. Even before Obamacare, Americans paid far more for healthcare than anyone else in the world. Now thanks to Obamacare we will be faced with much higher health insurance premiums, much higher taxes, much longer waits to see doctors and more government bureaucrats involved in our lives than ever before. As I have written about previously, the U.S. healthcare industry is a horrible mess, and now Obamacare is going to take the entire system directly into the toilet. All over America today, families are going broke because of outrageous health insurance costs and suffocating medical debt, doctors are going broke and leaving the profession because they can't make a living, and sick people are dying because they cannot get the care that they need. So what solution does Obama give us? A nearly 3,000 page monstrosity that will destroy what is left of our crumbling healthcare system and that will unleash 16,000 new IRS agents to hunt down the millions of Americans that do not currently have health insurance. For those that love Big Brother socialist totalitarianism, Obamacare is a dream come true. For the rest of us it is a total nightmare.

Obamacare is truly a Trojan horse. The millions of Americans that support Obamacare believe that they have been "given" something. But that is a lie.

All of us aren't going to be getting free government healthcare as a result of this law.

Instead, we are all being forced to buy health insurance policies that many Americans do not even want from deeply corrupt health insurance companies that make more money when they provide less healthcare. If we don't buy government-mandated health insurance the IRS will be coming after us. This reality was beautifully communicated by this cartoon that was posted on Facebook recently.

As a result of Obamacare, there will be more government intrusion in our lives than ever before. Hordes of government bureaucrats will now run the system, with predictable results.

If you think that the amount of paperwork in our healthcare system is bad now, just wait until this new law is fully implemented.

Is Obamacare complicated? For an answer to that question, just check out this flow chart. What sick minds came up with such a monstrosity?

Actually, we know that answer. The truth is that the big health insurance companies drafted much of the law. The Supreme Court decision upholding Obamacare was very good news for health insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies and government bureaucrats. It was very bad news for doctors and patients.

So who is going to pay for this monstrous system?

You and I are.

Americans for Tax Reform has compiled a list of 21 of the new taxes that Americans will be paying as a result of Obamacare. And because Democrats have decided that they will fight to the death to save this law, the Republicans will have to take the White House, the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives to have any chance of fully repealing it.

As I wrote about the other day, there are a whole host of reasons why Obamacare is bad for America. But instead of going on and on about what I think, I thought that I would share some of the very interesting things that other people have been saying about the Supreme Court Obamacare decision.

The following are 12 incredible Obamacare quotes that show that our wretched healthcare system is headed directly into the toilet....
