Desertion during war is a capital offense. At least is was when I was in. No one should join these days.

The U.S. military officer who headed a hearing in the case of accused deserter Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl recommended that the man held captive by the Taliban in Afghanistan should not be sent to a military prison, Bergdahl's lawyers said.

Lieutenant Colonel Mark Visger, the presiding officer at the so-called Article 32 hearing last month in San Antonio, also made recommendations in a memorandum this week for Bergdahl's case to be moved to the military equivalent of misdemeanor court, the lawyers said.

  1. Lieutenant Colonel Mark Visger...You, Sir, are enough to piss off the Pope. By what demented thought process do you arrive at the conclusion that what would normally be a Capital Offense should be reduced to a misdemeanor?

You don't have to answer to me, LtC. I'm a nobody and my world will spin the same speed no matter what happens to this little pissant Jihadi wannabe, but you really should take this little song and dance of yours on the road to the 6 families who lost their sons and husbands in action while they were looking for this traitor. I'm sure they'll be fascinated with your reasoning.

    1. I'm sure that his 'reasoning' came directly from his commie CIC.

  3. Like Fred Reed said, most upper echelon officers are politicians not leaders of men.

  4. The ex-governor of California called them "girly men.". Not the leaders of my Army. My caucasian company commander had a visible big black Bible on the table of his tent on bivouac. And my NFL sized black SFC platoon was a man this NC hillbilly would have followed into Hell in 1956 and now. At a fast trot then, and a slow wheel chair roll now. Heh.

  5. was referring to the Marine Le Pen story, take a good look at the "men" surrounding her as she speaks, particularly the guy behind her wringing his hands and looking like his pants are on fire stop video on different faces observe body language and just absorb what your gut tells you it will make you want to puke same kind of guy,bet on it

  6. Berghdahl received TWO, read it TWO promotions while in "captivity", received over $300K in back pay and his parents get invited to the White House. I guess it pays to be a traitor, desert your unit leaving a letter of your intent to start a new life, and risk the lives of your unit while they look for you.
I knew the outcome as soon as the traitor's parents crawled to our W.H.
Berghdahl wasn't missing MIA, he was a known deserter.

All the while you're playing soccer with your 'captors'.
