Republicans Preaching Racial Hatred

===============================

The Union League of America, sometimes called the Loyal league, was an organization for political purposes of northern whites, later of southern Negroes, which originated in Ohio in 1862 when the Confederate military successes and political disaffection in the northern states made the outlook for the north seem doubtful. Within one year it had spread over 18 northern states and among the Unionists of the south. The order raised troops, paid their expenses, sent supplies to the field and distributed political literature. At the close of the war it worked for radical reconstruction of the southern states, punishment of the southern leaders, confiscation of property and Negro suffrage. The southern Unionists hoped to make it the nucleus of a new political party, but this was frustrated by the admission of the blacks for political purposes, after which the southern whites generally deserted the league.

After the Freedmen's bureau agents and other northern whites obtained command of the league in the south it became simply a machine to control the Negro vote. The league ceased to be important in the north, though headquarters were in New York city. Each southern state had its grand council and each county one or more councils.

A constitution and an elaborate ritual were adopted, making it an oath-bound secret order, whose members were sworn to support one another on all occasions, to vote in elections only for Negroes or northern men, and to overthrow the southern "white oligarchy." No ex-Confederate and few southern Unionists were permitted to join.

At each meeting the members were taught that they must beware of their white neighbours as their worst enemies, that the Democratic party, to which the southern whites belonged, had opposed emancipation and was still opposed to any rights for the Negro. To prevent moral control of the Negroes by former masters, the league, by an "exodus order," required all Negroes who were still living with their former masters to find other homes. The Negroes were taught the equality of men and the right of the Negro to his master's property.

The Negro vote during reconstruction was controlled by the few white Radical leaders and Negroes who voted with the mass of the southern whites were persecuted, beaten, or even, in a few cases, killed. The league died out about 1870 but not before it had succeeded, with the Freedmen's bureau and other forces, in permanently arraying the Negroes and the whites into opposing political parties.

Congressional radicals were well-aware that black freedmen voting with their white neighbors toward mutual interests in the South would not elect Republicans, and the race card was established along with the bloody shirt as a means to maintain Republican political hegemony. The racial divisiveness of today is a lasting residue of the terrorist Union League, and the worst possible political instruction the black man received along with his ballot. Without the vote of the freedmen in the conquered South, Grant would have lost to Horatio Seymour and the Union League possibly dismantled.

Republicans Preaching Racial Hatred:

“Scalawags were Southerners willing to espouse Republicanism for reasons of opportunism. When the pro-Negro policies of the carpetbaggers caused the scalawags to desert Republicanism, Northern leaders, conscious of the power of numbers, to an ever greater degree relied upon pure Negro support.

The principal agency of the carpetbaggers was the Union or Loyal League. Initially it was composed almost entirely of white unionists with patriotic rather than political aims. As the [radical] plans of Congress unfolded in 1867, its main purpose became the organization of Negro voters [as Republicans]. In every Southern community trusting Negroes were organized into secret lodges of the order which indulged in mummery and high-sounding platitudes. In its heyday the Union League was said to have more than 200,000 members.

Ceremony, talk about freedom and equal rights, sententious references to the Declaration of Independence, accompanied by the clanging of chains, the burning of weird lights, and prayers and songs – all had their compelling effect upon the Negroes’ emotions and thoughts. They were repeatedly reminded that their interests were eternally at war with those of Southern whites, and that their freedom demanded the continued supremacy of the Republican party.

As a consequence of these teachings, the Union League “voted the Negroes like “herds of senseless cattle.” One member described it as the ‘place we learn the law.” When asked why he voted Republican, another member replied “I can’t read, and I can’t write…We go by instructions. We don’t’ know nothing much.” During the presidential campaign of 1868, the Union League of North Carolina declared that if Grant were not elected, the Negroes would be remanded to slavery; if elected, they would have farms, mules, and hold public office.

One fact is of fundamental importance in understanding the course of radical Reconstruction: the Negroes were aroused to political consciousness not of their own accord but by outside forces. This revolution in Southern behavior, unlike the more lasting political revolutions of history, was not a reflection of accomplishments in other fields. Attainment of political equality by the Negroes, in other words, was not attended by social and economic gains, possibly not even signifying a general demand for these advantages.

Such a lack of support not only meant that the radical political experiment could be destroyed almost as easily as it was created, but that participation of the Negro in politics would be erratic and irresponsible. Even if it had not been that way, it would have been so regarded, because the Negroes did not preface their attempt to win political equality with the attainment of respect in other fields of social endeavor.”

We have some Sheriff's Departments to file these cases against. Like, for example, Bandera County:

(June 9th): The law enforcement agency said followers of The Sovereign Citizens Movement have been known to carry out violent acts, including killing law enforcement officers and other public servants.

The sheriff's office told KSAT-12 News the warning was prompted by the recent shooting death of Bexar County Sheriff's Deputy Sgt. Kenneth Vann.

"We have domestic terrorism right at our doorstep," said Capt. Charlie Hicks of the Bandera County Sheriff's Office.

Hicks said while there's no evidence Vann's death had any links to the Sovereign Citizens, it's the same type of crime followers are known for.

Really? The above statement was made on June 9th with knowing and intentional falsity given this previous report:

SAN ANTONIO (June 7, 2011)--Ballistics tests show that a rifle that authorities seized from the home of a man charged in the ambush killing of a Bexar County deputy sheriff is a match to the weapon used in the slaying.

Authorities believe Gonzales was drunk and on anti-depression medication during the unprovoked and apparently random attack.

So the alleged perpetrator was on anti-depressants and drunk at the time of the apparently random attack.

That is, there was and remains no reportable evidence that this person was involved in any sort of "violent domestic terrorist" group whatsoever. But two days later this Sheriff lied to the media and public - on purpose - in an attempt to get you to surrender your Constitutional rights.

A Day at the Drags

Iowahawk

Spent a delightful afternoon yesterday with my pals from the S&M Speed Shop (motto: "Stop Us If We've Gone Too Far") at the venerable Great Lakes Drag-a-way in Union Grove, WI for the annual Hunnert Car Heads-Up nostalgia drags. The S&M crew's entry - the mighty Max Wedgie '64 Dodge Polara - made its presence known. With brothers Spence and Craig Schreindl respectively handling the driving and wrenching, Max Wedgie ran consistently in the 10.5s, winning its first 3 rounds and a spot in the Super Stock finals. Alas, a finals win was not to be, as it was edged out by another Mopar for class champ.

Still, an awesome day. Please to enjoy some snapshots of the antics, along with a couple of videos of Max Wedgie in action.

NC Senator Calls Gun Owners Terrorists

Two peas in a pod.
============================

My following comment is fourth generation; to avoid incarceration I’ve deleted the first three versions:

This old commie biddie has got to go.

NC Senator Eleanor Kinnaird has shown to whom she is useful – and it’s not the people of North Carolina; at least not the law-abiding, patriotic ones. To the North Carolinians that believe in the Constitution, that cherish their basic right of self defense, Kinnaird has set herself apart from us.

Those among us that feel safe as one of 10,000 sheep per sheepdog per thousands of wolves don’t have a problem with the government slowly and methodically eliminating our tools of self defense because within their small clumps of brain cells there is no understanding of man’s rights and necessity to be capable of self defense. For them, the remote chance that a cop will be able to arrive in time to save their lives from the predators is chance enough. They’re willing to live on the edge of existence as long as they don’t have to see or [shudder] touch a mean ole gun.

Of course, anyone stupid enough to think that way, will vote for a gun-grabbing, socialist dominatrix like Kinnaird. They don’t recognize that Kinnaird’s anti-gun bigotry is born of ignorance or worse.

In her little tirad on the senate floor last week, Kinnaird was quoting from the Communists’ Gun Snatcher Manual when she barked the following:

“In a terrorist handbook found in Afghanistan it mentions in one jihad strategy for terrorists to buy assault rifles legally in America.”

…. followed by insinuation that islamic terrorists are stocking up on evil assault rifles by taking advantage of the well-known gun show loophole. While it’s true that the islamic terrorist leaders (currently enjoying halal as guests at the white house) instruct their minions of cant-wait-to-blow-myself-up future martyrs to take advantage of the loophole to stock up on machine guns – they’re just as ignorant as liberals like Kinnaird. Because … for the umpteen-hundredth time … THERE IS NO LOOPHOLE.

Nobody can go to a gun show and walk out with a machine gun – without having previously dumped a big wad of money into the coffers of the federal government and subjected themselves to exhausting background checks by the FBI and the ATF. Well, unless the gun show is near the Mexican border and the ATF wants to let some lead-sprayers walk for some reason – but that’s another story.

Bottomline: Kinnaird is just another ignorant tool of the leftists and communists that have been working diligently for decades to disarm the American citizens. Her efforts to defeat the Castle Doctrine, the arguments she has used, demonstrate that she either has no understanding of the content of the bill and is quoting the propaganda she’s been handed over the years … OR she fully understands the content of the bill and is opposed to free Americans enjoying their constitutional right to feel safe in their own homes; opposed to free Americans having access to any firearms at any time; opposed to free Americans.

Like I said to begin with – This old commie biddie has got to go.

The Sons of Confederate Veterans-Mechanized Cavalry

Mechanized Cavalry

This weekend, myself and roughly 200 other members of the Sons of Confederate Veterans-Mechanized Cavalry participated in our 14th annual national ride. The Mechanized Cavalry began as a small group of SCV members who wanted to ride motorcycles to various Confederate landmarks in the late 90s. Started in Maryland, the Mechanized Cavalry now has over 1,300 members, with chapters in every Southern State and members throughout North America and even a few overseas members in Europe. The Mechanized Cavalry is open to all SCV members who wish to join, and those without a motorcycle at their disposal can even join as “dismounted cavalry”. It offers a unique way to show our colors, display our flag, and educate the public about our common heritage. Many who support the Southern cause who would not otherwise have contact with the Sons of Confederate Veterans learn about our organisation through the Mechanized Cavalry.

This year’s reunion was held in Eddyville, KY. On Friday, a 200-strong group headed into Paducah with a police escort. The town was extremely welcoming and the ride was one of the best to date for those involved. The peace officers did an outstanding job helping us through traffic, and we caught the eye of a local newspaper reporter. Below is the story from the Paducah Sun from Saturday, June 11, 2011.

Confederate motorcycle group celebrates heritage in area

Sons of Confederate Veterans Mechanized Cavalry made a striking entry Friday into downtown Paducah.

The group announced its arrival through the rumble of 200 fully-charged motorcycles that required a police escort en route to the Lloyd Tilghman House/Civil War Museum on Kentucky Avenue and had the full attention of onlookers.

“They should be awake by now, I’d say,” said John Suttles of Paducah, a lieutenant of the Kentucky State Division of the SCV, chuckling after watching the procession snake its way off Kentucky and into the museum parking lot.

The Cavalry is in the area for its annual meeting in Lyon County, consisting of riders nationwide, many of whom are descendants of Confederate States of America fighters of the Civil War. Bike rides to various Confederate establishments in the area are the main daily events. The group toured the Jefferson Davis Monument in Todd County Thursday and heads to Fort Donelson in Dover, Tenn., today.

As for the Paducah stop Friday, one of the founders of the Cavalry seemed impressed. Whitey Whitt was one of the seven original riders to form the group in 1996 in Maryland. The Cavalry now numbers about 1,500.

“They’ve really done a nice job with this place,” Whitt said as he stood inside the Tilghman House, one of two homes to Confederate generals remaining in Kentucky, the other having belonged to Gen. John Hunt Morgan in Lexington.

“Every year, one of our members hosts this meeting, and this year it’s Company E which represents Kentucky who is hosting for the first time, and what is so great about this is we get to see the history of that area.

“I’d probably never come here on my own, honestly, but when it’s part of this, it makes it easier. Plus, we’re all the same. We really like riding bikes and we really like Civil War history.”

From the long procession Friday also came a gift for the museum in the form of $2,000 from the Cavalry raised just since Thursday, mainly from a drawing for a custom-made hunting knife.

“That shows they’re here to support the history of this area,” said Troy Paschall of West Paducah. “This is the seventh of these I’ve attended, and it’s just awesome. You get love everywhere we go. When we’re out riding, just about every person we see waves and smiles. It’s nice to see.”

The group also participates in many regional and local events through the year. Next year’s annual will be held in Georgia. Information about the Sons of Confederate Veterans can be found at scv.org.

N.C. House approves loosening gun laws

The Daily Southerner — RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — People who are being victimized by a carjacker or home-invader, or who think they can save a life, can use deadly force under an expansion of North Carolina gun laws tentatively approved by the state House on Tuesday.

The House voted 77-38 for legislation that puts the burden of proof on prosecutors if there’s a question whether a person was justified in firing at an intruder entering homes, cars or workplaces. A final House vote is expected Wednesday, followed by consideration in the Senate.

Current law says people have no duty to retreat inside their homes prior to using deadly force against someone trying to break in if they reasonably believe the intruder may try to kill or seriously injure them or someone else. But the legal standard means the shooter may have to justify using the weapon after the fact.

The new legislation presumes firing a weapon during these situations was proper, and would apply that beyond a home to potential victims of carjackings and business break-ins. A district attorney could try to prove otherwise in court. The shooter also would be immune from civil liability.
