A Comment

Mike

Folks,

Don’t underestimate the opposition while doing a chest-beating dance.

WE will have ourselves: outgunned; outmanned; vilified/demonized, scattered about the country; few technological resources; virtually no intelligence apparatus; most likely no active foreign support (unlike the Founding Fathers).

THEY will have: massive firepower at all levels; control of the propaganda machine (aka MSM); much greater manpower; support/assistance of the majority of the population; an established and superior intelligence community; well-trained, well-funded, motivated and seasoned troops with combat experience in various theaters of war; massive reserves of manpower in the form of the security forces (FBI, DEA, DHS, state/county/local law enforcement); communications capabilities that include space satellites.

This is a fight we cannot win as the facts stand. That is, noting the facts above, FREEFOR cannot achieve a Constitutional restoration that encompasses the territory of what is now the United States of America. The corruption within the political system reflects the corruption in the body of the People itself; the People do not want Liberty. They want bread (food stamps, Social Security, welfare, MedicAid) and circuses (NASCAR, American Idol, Fantasy Football, Blue State/Red State antagonism). If we attempt to replace what they have and want with what they willingly gave up and don’t care for, then they will gleefully assist the FEDGOV in crushing any incipient liberty movement.

No, the best way to achieve a Constitutional polity is to retreat, concentrate, and build an entirely new entity truly based on principles of Liberty. Put simply, a secessionist/separatist movement, concentrated in one or two states, might (MIGHT) succeed.

Such a movement has several advantages:
(1) It concentrates the FREEFOR within geographic regions where FREEFOR would be embedded among friendly natives, reducing the percentage of the population willing to betray you;

(2) It places the FEDGOV in an untenable position — it won’t use its most powerful weapons against you if such entails revealing its true face to domestic and international audiences — the FEDGOV must maintain the fiction that it is one of the “good guys”. A separatist movement might thus leverage “international opinion”, as the Palestinians and Bosnians did, in our favor by manipulating the narrative — you can move from being a “terrorist” to being a “dissident” or a “militant”.

(3) It nullifies the motivational advantage for the OPFOR — by securing a geographical base, with a political-military framework that claims constitutional legitimacy, it might plant the seed doubt among the OPFOR as to the interests for which they fight. In such a fight, PSYOPS will be crucial for de-moralizing OPFOR and even (maybe) securing defectors.

(4) A separatist movement has the high moral ground and can leverage it for recruitment — the purpose is not to “overthrow the government”, but rather to “re-constitute the vision of the Founders”. In the eyes of the world, YOU are not initiating battle (No Fort Sumters). By seceding, FREEFOR withdraws its obedience and FEDGOV must either attack or cede the ground. The first serves to alienate part of the population and international opinion, while the latter undermines the legitimacy of the FEDGOV.

A separatist/secessionist movement serves as the political framework within which the military options are exercised. Politics with no military option only lends legitimacy to the current system (Tea Party, for example); exercising the military option without a coherent political strategy devolves into terrorism, and can be easily isolated and crushed (Weathermen, Montana Freemen).

Anti-gun Judicial Nominee is Back!

Harry Reid Attempting to Ram Through Another Judge
With the help of tons of emails from Gun Owners of America members that poured into the Senate earlier this year, a gun-hating Obama judicial nominee had been kept from coming to the floor for a vote.

But thanks to good old Harry Reid, who likes to pretend he supports gun rights, that nominee is coming up for a vote on Tuesday.

Using his power as Majority Leader, Senator Reid made a procedural move last week to force a vote on Caitlin Halligan, formerly the solicitor general of New York and an avid leader in the effort to destroy firearms manufacturers using frivolous litigation.

Reid scheduled the on Halligan vote for this Tuesday, December 6. Consider it an early Christmas present for his anti-gun pals.

Gun Owners of America began in February briefing Senate members on the dangers of confirming Halligan to a seat on the D.C. Court of Appeals -- sometimes called the second highest court in the land.

As New York’s solicitor general, Halligan was one of the chief lawyers responsible for New York’s baseless and politically motivated efforts to bankrupt gun manufacturers using frivolous litigation. In so doing, Halligan proved that she places liberal political activism above fealty to the law.

Halligan’s public hatred for firearms was only matched by her zealotry inside the courtroom. In a speech on May 5, 2003, Halligan called for “handgun manufacturers [to be held] liable for criminal acts committed with handguns.”

Certainly, no other manufacturer of another item -- whether it be cars, baseball bats, or anything else -- would be held liable for the criminal misuse of its product. And, as Halligan well knows, the application of that principle to firearms would surely eliminate the manufacture of firearms in America.

After attempts of legal extortion of the firearms industry were repudiated by a bipartisan vote in Congress, Halligan’s office did not let up on attacking gun rights, signing a brief calling for New York courts to declare the federal Gun Makers’ Protection Act unconstitutional.

Finally, Halligan, in written testimony submitted to the Senate in connection with her nomination, attempted to conceal the extent of her anti-gun animus.

Halligan’s failure to provide information that would clarify her statements, thus keeping her testimony from being misleading, constitutes “fraud” against the Senate. As such, the only role she should play in the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals is the role of a defendant.

But, of course, none of this matter to Harry Reid. He already did his part getting two strident anti-gun Obama judges onto the Supreme Court, and now he’s doing what he can to pack the Appeals Courts with radical leftists as well.
We have to stop this Reid/Obama court-packing scheme. Please act now, as the vote is scheduled for this Tuesday.

Feds Raid Million Dollar Home of Welfare Recipient in Washington State

  • Residents of a wealthy lakefront community near Seattle are surprised to learn that one of their neighbors, who has lived in a $1.2 million home for the last 8 years, is the recipient of more that $1,200 a month in public housing vouchers, federal and state disability, and food stamps. King 5 reports on the couple living large on the taxpayer’s dime:
  • The Seattle PI reports that federal prosecutors filed a civil lawsuit Friday, claiming that Lyudmila Shimonova and her partner, chiropractor David Silverstein, made false claims for federal government housing assistance benefits totaling $135,000.

NC: 9-Yr-Old Student Calls Teacher ‘Cute’ – Gets Suspended For an Alleged ‘Form of Sexual Harassment’

The comments made by a 9-yr-old elementary school student have earned him a two day suspension for “inappropriate behavior” and his principal reportedly believes the comments were “a form of sexual harassment.”

Emanyea Lockett is the fourth grade boy who was forced to sit home for two days. The young man is confused by the situation, telling local press, “I was talking to my friend and I said Miss Taylor was cute.”

According to several accounts, that conversation between school friends was overheard by a substitute teacher and reported. The principal at North Carolina’s Brookside Elementary School allegedly said to the child’s mother that the comments were a “form of sexual harassment.”

Chiquita Lockett, the boy’s mother, is surprised by the suspension and told WSOCTV.com:

“It’s not like he went up to the woman and tried to grab her or touch her in a sexual way,” Ms Lockett said. “So why would he be suspended for two days?”

Newt-Onian Foreign Policy: No, Just Hell No

Via Bazz

by Thomas J. DiLorenzo

Newt Gingrich’s foreign policy views are a combination of wild, irresponsible, and aggressive warmongering, extraordinary naivete about the nature of government, and juvenile hero worship. One only needs to read his September 7, 2006 Wall Street Journal article entitled "Lincoln and Bush" to see the truth in this statement.

First, Congress should declare that we are in World War III, says Gingrich. This in turn will require a "dramatically larger budget." And what should be done with this dramatically larger budget? According to Gingrich, the U.S. military should invade Lebanon with the purpose of "disarming Hezbollah." This would effectively commence another war with Syria, says Gingrich, as it would be "the first direct defeat of Syria," which supposedly pulls the strings of Hezbollah. It would also be an assault on Iran, says the former House speaker, and would therefore be an act of war against that country as well.

Next, full-scale warfare should be waged against North Korea, Iran and Syria with the objective of "replacing the repressive dictatorships" in those countries. All of this would somehow serve in "restoring American prestige in the region," says Gingrich. Yes, murdering hundreds of thousands of Iranians, Syrians, and Lebanese, and destroying their cities and their infrastructure of civilization, which is what war does, would surely lead the people of those countries to think of Americans as "prestigious."

Gingrich seems vaguely aware that war always causes an explosion of governmental powers and a corresponding destruction of liberty and prosperity at home. Thus, he makes the case for magically transforming the Pentagon into a paragon of efficiency. He sounds a lot like an early twentieth-century communist preaching the praises of "scientific socialism." "Clear metrics of achievement" should be implemented, as though the usual politics would not prohibit such a thing, as it has for hundreds of years in all societies. The Pentagon must be made more "business-like," an oxymoron if ever there was one.

The domestic police state should also be expanded exponentially, said Gingrich, as long as the Fatherland Security Bureaucracy is also run in a super-efficient manner, with "metrics-based performance" measurements. He does have his business school lingo down cold.

Just in case anyone criticizes his proposal for a half dozen or so new wars, Gingrich plays the standard neocon "ace-in-the-hole" strategy of quoting the "sainted" Abraham Lincoln. "We must think anew and act anew," he quotes Lincoln as saying. He praises Lincoln’s response to Fort Sumter, where not a single person was harmed, let alone killed. In response to the knocking down of some bricks at the fort, Lincoln responded with a full-scale invasion of all the Southern states, waging total war on the civilian population as well, and killing some 350,000 American citizens in those states. This of course was the very definition of treason under Article 3, Section 3 of the Constitution, which defines treason as only "levying war upon the states" or "giving aid and comfort to their enemies."

Gingrich says that secession would have meant "the end of the United States" when in fact the exact opposite is true: The voluntary union of the founding fathers – their United States – was destroyed by Lincoln’s war. To Gingrich, Lincoln’s unconstitutional invasion of the Southern states was "the road to victory." (Lincoln’s greatest failure was his failure to do what all the other major powers of the mid nineteenth century did with regard to slavery, and end it peacefully).

Gingrich also seems totally unaware of or unconcerned about blowback or retaliation for American military aggression. He screeches that "terrorist recruiting is still occurring" (duh) without making any mention of the fact that such recruiting is an inevitable consequence of the American invasion and occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan. Such "recruiting" will increase by many orders of magnitude should Newt Gingrich be elected president and enter the U.S. into World Wars III, IV, V, and VI, as is apparently his pipe dream.
