Grave marker hits snag for unknown Confederate soldier buried in York County, PA
(DAILY RECORD/SUNDAY NEWS - FILE)
Ivan Frantz Jr. filled out an application in December to apply for an official government headstone for an unknown Confederate soldier buried in Hellam Township.
In the spot for the name, Frantz wrote "Unknown Confederate Soldier." He put down "unknown" for the date of birth and June 1863 for the date of death.
Frantz indicated that he was applying as secretary/treasurer of Capt. E.M. Ruhl, Camp No. 33 of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. He marked an "X" in a box for an upright granite headstone.
A couple of weeks later, Frantz received a letter from the federal Department of Veterans Affairs, saying that it could not process his application.
The reason: He's not the next-of-kin.

How Convenient: Potentially 180,000 Non-Citizens Capable of Voting in Swing States
Welcome to the year 2012 where the Obama Justice Department, headed by Attorney General Eric Holder, refuses to admit voter fraud is a real threat to our democratic process while they sue state after state for voter i.d. laws.
"There is no proof that our elections are marred by in person voter fraud," Attorney General Eric Holder. "Solutions that have been proposed go to things that do not exist, go to a problem that does not exist."
Remember this?
In North Carolina we find people who are listed as non-citizens according to Jury refusal forms and who are also registered to vote. We get their comment and are offered their ballots. We are offered a ballot in the name of a dead man, and interview an election Judge who says he only wants to uphold parts of the state constitution. We also interview the following officials at UNC who seemingly embrace voter fraud:
-Terri Phoenix -- Director - UNC LGBTQ Center
-Dean Blackburn UNC Assistant Dean of Students
-Adam Limehouse - Director for the Coalition to Protect All NC Families.More with another video @ Townhall
North Carolina: Romney 51%, Obama 43%
Hussein's coming out, did him in.:)
Mitt Romney has moved out to an eight-point lead over President Obama in North Carolina after the two men were virtually tied a month ago.
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in the Tar Heel State shows the putative Republican nominee earning 51% of the vote to Obama’s 43%. Two percent (2%) like some other candidate, and four percent (4%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
That’s a big change from last month when Romney posted a narrow 46% to 44% lead over the president in Rasmussen Reports’ first survey of the race in North Carolina. Democrats have signaled North Carolina’s importance as a key swing state by deciding to hold their national convention in Charlotte this summer.
Woman, dog escape car seconds before tree crushes it
A woman and her dog made a great escape just seconds before a tree crashed down on her car on Tuesday.
Brittney Barry had just gotten into her vehicle when she said “all of a sudden I heard, ‘crack, crack, crack -- smash,’ and then I don’t even really know how I got out of the car.”
Barry described how she was able dodge death when a large tree crushed her car.

NC FIRE: Action Alert
One toll-free call from you can help stop illegal immigrants from getting an illegal federal tax refund and to protect your child's seat in a four year college or community college.
72% of illegal immigrants who file a federal tax return using the federal ITIN number, claim children as dependents (who aren't their children and who don't even live in the USA) and get thousands of dollars in refunds for the "additional child credit". Our government knows for sure we are losing over $4 billion per year.
Several studies point out in general that we spend over $100 billion net per year as a nation to provide services to incarcerate, educate, and medicate illegal immigrants and their dependents. This doesn't include the cost of providing social services to the six million unemployed Americans who could be working in non-ag jobs if not for illegal immigrants taking those jobs.
CALL OUR TWO NC SENATORS TOLL-FREE FROM NORTH CAROLINA AND SAY THE FOLLOWING: "Support U.S. Senate bill S.577 to close the federal tax loophole illegal immigrants are using to claim child credits for children who don't even live in the USA at a cost to taxpayers of over $4 billion per year. Secondly vote against Senator Marco Rubio's "planned" Dream Act legislation that would give an amnesty to illegal immigrants and allow them to enroll in our colleges and take jobs that belong to citizens."
Call: U.S. Senator Richard Burr (800) 685-8916 at his Winston-Salem office or (202) 224-3154 at his Washington, DC office
Call: U.S. Senator Kay Hagan (877) 852-9462 at her Greensboro office or (202) 224-6342 at her Washington, DC office.
