Dying woman gets security pat-down at Sea-Tac

A dying woman says a a security pat-down at Sea-Tac Airport left her embarrassed in front of crowds of people.
Michelle Dunaj says screeners checked under bandages from recent surgeries and refused to give her a private search when she requested one.
Dunaj, who is dying of leukemia, carried a large amount of prescription drugs through Sea-Tac to head to Hawaii for what would be one of the last trips of her life.
She called Alaska Airlines ahead of time to request a wheelchair and to ask how her medicines should be separated for the security line.
"I did everything they asked me to do, so I didn't think it would be an issue," she said.
But Dunaj says nothing went right at the security checkpoint.

Prepping for Obamacare, Chain Cuts Workers' Hours
The owner of Olive Garden and Red Lobster restaurants is putting more workers on part-time status in a test aimed at limiting the impact of looming health coverage requirements.
Darden Restaurants declined to give details but said the test is only in restaurants in four markets across the country. The test entails increasing the number of workers on part-time status, meaning they work less than 30 hours a week. Under the new health care act, companies will be required to provide health care to full-time employees by 2014. That would significantly boost labor costs for businesses.
About 75 percent of Darden’s employees are currently part-timers.
Bob McAdam, who heads government affairs and community relations for Darden, said the company is still learning from the tests, which was first reported by The Orlando Sentinel.

Scholarships are given based on financial need and the availability of funds. Let This Be a Warning America: When the Riots Start the Government’s Response Will Be Brutal

Last week, when hundreds of thousands of people in Madrid, Barcelona and throughout Spain protested, rioted, rebelled and called for the forced resignation of every one of their parliamentary representatives and the formation of a new government, the silence from global mainstream media was deafening.
With jobless rates for those between the ages of 20 and 35 exceeding 50%, further social spending measures promised by the government, and tens of billions in handouts being transferred to large financial institutions in the broader Euro Zone, those impoverished by the economic collapse of the last four years would not be silenced.
They took the streets in droves. They rushed their parliament building, forcing representatives to barricade themselves inside. They confronted their government head on.
And for their transgressions, they were indiscriminately fired upon, beaten, and bloodied by riot police; men, women, young, old, it mattered not to the policing arm of the global elite.
Let this be a warning, America, because these riots will soon be making their way across the Atlantic ocean to our shores.

The Heinlein Doctrine

I was on a gun- and survival-related forum this evening, reading a stereotypical thread on “When will TSHTF.” The theories ranged from sometime in the next six months to “never!” I would argue however, and in fact do, that it’s already here. The popular conception of WROL involves bands of mutant/zombie/cannibal/biker/looter/bandits roaming the highways and by-ways, taking what they want from every passing citizen, except the heroes of the novel or daydream, who were prescient enough to spend their children’s college fund on preparedness, stockpile a bunker of goods in the hinterlands of the northern Rockies (which I really can’t begrudge, considering I moved here when I left the service because of the tactical and strategic benefits of the region myself….), and amazingly managed to get the Hell out of whatever major metropolitan urban center they lived and worked in, and traverse the continent to get there, as Rome burned around them.
Folks, this is idiocy. The Shit has ALREADY hit the fan. The Republic is dead, and no one is coming to help you. Let’s look at this from a novel perspective….
Article I, Section I of the Constitution of the United States of America:
“All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and a House of Representatives.“
Yet today, we have appointed bureaucrats of the Executive Branch penning regulations that are enforced with the force of law. I understand that Congress arguably has the “implied” privilege of assigning functions to the executive branch to carry out in order to execute the laws that Congress makes (thus the term “executive”…..), but wherein is that equal to making up new laws?
