'Bloody knives' hurled in epic GOP battle. Tea-party backed congressman unloads on 'backstabbing' senator

Rep. Steve Stockman, R-Texas, certainly isn’t pulling any punches in his bid to unseat the No. 2 Republican in the Senate.

Stockman, who is launching a primary challenge against Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, didn’t mince words, saying the incumbent “lustfully plunges his bloody knife into the back of any conservative he can find.”

In a fundraising letter just released, the congressman accused his fellow Texan of “knifing Rand Paul in the back” to try and stop him from being elected to the Senate.

Then Stockman accused Cornyn of having done the same to Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas.

And now, the lawmaker charges, “Cornyn, his anti-Ted Cruz PAC (political action committee) cronies and his $2 million in pro-amnesty cash are knifing me in the back.”

We are in a post-republic America. There is no rule of law, there is only a rule of judges. Legislation is equal to a dictate from the king. That we elect the barons and the lords to rule over us does not lessen tyranny, but it makes us feel better; it gives us faith in the "system" and that is all the government really needs.

Through several supreme court decisions, largely where they have ruled on Obamacare, the message as been sent: Whatever the government chooses to do is within its power. Think of that, what is a king, but someone allowed to do whatever they choose and the fact that they choose to do it makes it within their power.

Historic United Confederate Veterans Reunions

Via Terry

The United Confederate Veterans was an organization for former Confederate soldiers of the American Civil War, and was equivalent to the Grand Army of the Republic, which was the organization for the Union Veterans.   The UCV was founded in 1889 as a "benevolent, historical, social and literary Association", and was active well into the 1940s, with it's final reunion being held in Norfolk, Virginia in 1951.

The primary functions of the organization were to provide for widows and orphans of former Confederate soldiers, preserve relics and mementos, care for disabled former soldiers, preserve a record of the service of its members, and organize reunions and fraternal gatherings.  At its height, membership was approximately 160,000 former Confederate soldiers organized into 1,885 local camps.  They held 3 of their annual reunions in Memphis - the first in 1901 and 20,000 veterans attended.

'Duck Dynasty' clan: 'We cannot imagine the show going forward'

The “Duck Dynasty” family has issued its statement on Phil Robertson’s suspension for his remarks on homosexuality and sin. As posted on the Duck Commander site:
We want to thank all of you for your prayers and support.  The family has spent much time in prayer since learning of A&E’s decision.  We want you to know that first and foremost we are a family rooted in our faith in God and our belief that the Bible is His word.  While some of Phil’s unfiltered comments to the reporter were coarse, his beliefs are grounded in the teachings of the Bible. Phil is a Godly man who follows what the Bible says are the greatest commandments: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart” and “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Phil would never incite or encourage hate.We are disappointed that Phil has been placed on hiatus for expressing his faith, which is his constitutionally protected right. We have had a successful working relationship with A&E but, as a family, we cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm.  We are in discussions with A&E to see what that means for the future of Duck Dynasty.   Again, thank you for your continued support of our family.

The world's most expensive selfie: State Department blows $11.5 million on Obama's trip to Mandela funeral not including the cost of Air Force One

Via Knuckledraggin' My Life Away

The shot worth $11m: While Obama gave an address at Mandela's memorial it will always be remembered for this picture. It emerged today for that publicity, the Obama administration was prepared to pony up $11.5 million

  • Obama arrived and departed on the same day, spending less than 13 hours on the ground in South Africa for Nelson Mandela's memorial service
  • The State Department budgeted $11,519,617 in three separate contract documents covering ground transportation and lodging
  • Hotel rooms were authorized through the middle of January even though Mandela was laid to rest on December 15
  • The nearly $180,000-per-hour cost of flying Air Force One, the president's customized Boeing 747 aircraft, was not part of the cost estimateThe State Department set aside a staggering $11,519,617 on hotels and ground transportation costs for President Obama and his entourage to attend Nelson Mandela's memorial service last week, it was revealed today.

One contract letter budgeted more than $8.2 million for 'passenger vehicles, SUVs, vans, and buses, as well as supplies and goods vehicles such as pickup trucks, box trucks, and larger capacity vehicles,' according to documents first posted online by the Weekly Standard.

Two more authorized State to spend in excess of $3.2 million on hotels from December 6 to January 20, including costs for a whopping 5,730 'hotel room nights' overall – a number that works out to represent more than 127 separate rooms.

It's unclear how much the State Department actually spent. But the president, it turned out, spent less than 13 hours on the ground in South Africa on December 10 – arriving and departing on the same day.

  • Eyewitness to Hitler Warns Americans: “Keep your guns. Keep your guns and buy more guns”

     worthman

When Katie Worthman was a little girl in Austria, she witnessed firsthand Adolph Hitler’s rise to power and the Soviet communist occupation that followed.  She also witnessed, for decades, the distortions of the media when it came to the reporting of the events.

From her eyewitness perspective, Worthman said that the whole thing didn’t happen overnight, in a brutal attack, like the media portrays it, but rather, it evolved into a dictatorship gradually, over a period of a few years.  Hitler didn’t come across as someone evil, to be feared, initially.  ”In the beginning, Hitler didn’t look like, or talk like a monster at all. He talked like an American politician.”
