An update on the Blogger porn content policy

This week, we announced a change to Blogger’s porn policy stating that blogs that distributed sexually explicit images or graphic nudity would be made private.

We’ve received lots of feedback about making a policy change that impacts longstanding blogs, and about the negative impact this could have on individuals who post sexually explicit content to express their identities.

We appreciate the feedback. Instead of making this change, we will be maintaining our existing policies.

What this means for blog owners

• Commercial porn will continue to be prohibited.
• If you have pornographic or sexually explicit content on your blog, you must turn on the adult content setting so a warning will show. If a blog with adult content is brought to Google’s attention and the content warning is not active, we will turn on the warning interstitial for you. If this happens repeatedly, the blog may be removed.
• If you don't have sexually explicit content on your blog and you're following the rest of the Blogger Content Policy, you don't need to make any changes to your blog.

Nobody could have possibly foreseen that yet another US foreign diplomacy "success story" would turn out to be an epic disaster. Well, nobody, except for those who accurately predict that every US intervention abroad is now a staggering fiasco (for everyone involved except the US military-industrial complex of course). As for Yemen, the outcome was clear long ago:

• Yemen's US-Backed Government & President Resign
• Obama's "Partners" In Yemen Overthrown As Presidential Palace Falls To Local Militiamen
• Deserted US Embassy In Yemen Immediately Seized By Armed Rebels
• The Coup Is Complete: US Embassy In Yemen Shutting Down, Ambassador To Leave By Wednesday

And, naturally, after noting that "the employees said that more than 20 vehicles were taken by the fighters after the Americans departed from Sanaa's airport" we asked how long until we have a "tabulation of losses to US taxpayers, just like the great Islamic State 'robbery' of hundreds of millions in US military equipment in Iraq?" That, of course, was another epic US intervention success story.

Virginia Flaggers Highway Memorial Battle Flags Update

 

LEXINGTON: 

I-81 FLAG:  In the week leading up to  Lee-Jackson Day in January, the ground at the I-81 site was too wet for the installation of the 80' ft. pole that was purchased.  The pole will sit high on a hill, and the ground must be completely dry to prevent the crane, needed to set the pole, from slipping.  Since that time, we experienced back to back to back winter storms that caused us to cancel two different scheduled installation dates.  There was still standing water at the site last week, but we are anticipating several days of sunshine and wind, and hope to install the pole next week.  If we are able to do so, we will have a flag raising/dedication at the site on Saturday, March 28th, at 10:00 a.m.

All are welcome/invited to attend.  Please stay tuned for updates later this week with confirmation of the pole installation and more details about the ceremony.

Be careful with your face at airports

You're late for your flight, sweaty from having dragged your luggage to the check-in counter, and stressed about making it through security before boarding begins. For some of us, this is the rule, not the exception. For most of us, it's a pretty unremarkable scenario.

Not so fast, says the Transportation Security Administration. Typical airport behavior like this could make you a suspicious traveler who should be subjected to questioning and additional screening -- and possibly referred to the police for investigation, detention or arrest. 

That should seem far-fetched, but it isn't. The TSA continues to use pseudo-scientific "behavior detection" techniques that have given rise to persistent allegations of racial and ethnic profiling at our nation's airports.

Anti-Gunners Use Fake Gun Store to Shock Gun Buyers

States United to Prevent Gun Violence, , a gun-control organization, set up a fake gun store in New York City to shock prospective gun purchasers by attempting to sell them firearms that had been involved in crimes and tragic accidents.

The group filmed the whole stunt in an effort to remind the public that “Every gun has a history.”
During the video, one female buyer is told by the clerk, “[This] is the easiest gun we have to use. It’s our most popular one… It’s also a gun that 5-year-old found in his parents bedroom, went down and shot his 9-month-old baby brother with it.”

Moments Before Explosion at Yemen Mosque, Worshipers Were Chanting ‘Death to America’ and ‘Victory to Islam’

Newly translated video from inside one of the Yemeni mosques targeted in Friday’s suicide bombings purports to show worshipers shouting anti-American and anti-Jewish slogans the moment one of the bombs exploded.

“Death to America. Death to Israel. Curse upon the Jews. Victory to Islam. Allah akbar. Death to America. Death to Israel,” those inside the mosque chanted, according to a Middle East Media Research Institute translation of the amateur video.

Russia threatens to target nuclear missiles at Denmark ships if it joins NATO shield

Russia threatened to aim nuclear missiles at Danish warships if Denmark joins NATO's missile defense system, in comments Copenhagen called unacceptable and NATO said would not contribute to peace.

Denmark said in August it would contribute radar capacity on some of its warships to the missile shield, which the Western alliance says is designed to protect members from missile launches from countries like Iran.

Moscow opposes the system, arguing that it could reduce the effectiveness of its own nuclear arsenal, leading to a new Cold War-style arms race.

In an interview in the newspaper Jyllands-Posten, the Russian ambassador to Denmark, Mikhail Vanin, said he did not think Danes fully understood the consequences of joining the program.
