The Pentagon plans to announce the repeal of its ban on transgender
service members July 1, a controversial decision that would end nearly a
year of internal wrangling among the services on how to allow those
troops to serve openly, according to Defense officials.
Top
personnel officials plan to meet as early as Monday to finalize details
of the plan, and Deputy Defense Secretary Bob Work could sign off on it
by Wednesday, according to a Defense official familiar with the
timetable but who spoke on condition of anonymity because officials
were not authorized to speak publicly about it. Final approval would
come from Defense Secretary Ash Carter, and the announcement will be on
the eve of the Fourth of July weekend.
The plan would direct each
branch of the armed services over a one-year period to implement new
policies affecting recruiting, housing and uniforms for transgender
troops, one official said.
Following last night’s historic Brexit vote, House Speaker Paul
Ryan’s primary challenger, Wisconsin businessman Paul Nehlen, seems to
have taken a page from the playbook of the U.K. Independence Party
(UKIP) with the launch of a new billboard campaign.
On Friday morning, Nehlen’s campaign went live with a new billboard
in Ryan’s hometown of Janesville, Wisconsin that is reminiscent of the
distinctive UKIP-style campaign.
The ad reads: “Radical Islam Kills Americans. Vote YES for Immigration Control. Vote NO for Paul Ryan.”
The billboard then directs viewers to Nehlen’s campaign website, ElectNehlen.com.
UKIP’s national billboard campaign
is distinctive for its clear, straight-forward manner of describing the
effects of large-scale migration and its impact on workers and Western
culture.
U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., drew parallels between the United
Kingdom's vote to leave the European Union and the upcoming presidential
election in the United States, saying in a statement Friday that "now it's our time."
Sessions, a strong supporter of presumptive Republican presidential
nominee Donald Trump, is also a staunch opponent of the Trans-Pacific
Partnership, a trade agreement negotiated between President Barack Obama
and Pacific Rim countries that has yet to be finalized. Alabama's
junior senator has likened the TPP to the European Union because it has
language that paves the way for a trans-national government body. He has
argued that the TPP threatens American jobs and that the U.S. would
lose sovereignty under the trade pact, which Trump is also against.
Presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton once called the TPP "the
gold standard" of trade deals but has since said she also opposes the
agreement.
Never one for a subtle jab, presumptive Republican presidential
nominee Donald Trump has launched a new website aimed at Hillary
Clinton, his Democratic opponent.
Trump has officially launched lyingcrookedhillary.com, a play on the "crooked Hillary" nickname the colorful GOP candidate has given to the former Secretary of State.
"She's at it again...spinning lies and weaving a tapestry of deceit
that she hopes will cover the truth. Her despicable scandals and
defenses place our country- and Americans like you – in jeopardy," the
website notes.
Trump and Vladimir Putin were the only two world political figures who publicly stated their support for Brexit.
So
it was unsurprising to hear the Republican presidential nominee say how
happy he was that Britons had ‘taken back their country’.
The parallels between Trump’s campaign and that waged by Brexit leaders Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage are obvious.
All three men are all anti-politicians, in the sense that they don’t behave or speak like conventional politicians.
Their joint modus operandi is shooting from the hip and saying outrageous things to grab media attention.
They
crack inappropriate jokes, belittle opponents often in a very puerile
way, and have all been variously dismissed as ‘buffoons’and ‘idiots’ and
even compared to Hitler.
But they
share unshakeable self-confidence and have skilfully presented
themselves as outsiders far removed from the political elite and
‘establishment’, who stand up for the average man and woman in the
street.
They’ve
also focused with laser-like, ruthless precision on hot button issues
which they know many of those people are genuinely worried about,
notably immigration and terrorism.
At
his presser in Scotland this morning, Trump said: ‘People are angry all
over the world. They’re angry over borders, they’re angry over people
coming into the country and taking over and nobody even knows who they
are. They’re angry about many, many things in the UK. It’s essentially
the same thing that’s happening in the United States.’
Regardless
of what you think of Trump’s inflammatory rhetoric, and his
uncompromising talk of walls and bans, does anybody really doubt after
this shock Brexit result that he’s right about the levels of anger?
After residents of the UK voted today to leave the European Union,
the movement for an independent Texas may be gaining serious momentum,
with thousands online calling for a “Texit.”
The largest group agitating for secession is the Texas Nationalist
Movement, which has been promoting its own version of Brexit, called
Texit, over the past several weeks. The group has taken inspiration
from the pro-exit campaign in Britain, noting that the two movements
share many of the same principles. Daniel Miller, president of the TNM, told Australian website news.com.au,
“The vast majority of the laws, rules and regulations that affect the
people of Texas are created by the political class or unelected
bureaucrats in Washington” — a sentiment which echoes the arguments made
by the British Leave campaign.

Donald Trump, a man who has been criticized, vilified and even savaged by the left-leaning mainstream media, the Socialist Democrat party, the Republican elites, foreigners, illegal aliens, Hollywood, ESPN, and the list could go on and on and the attacks have been incessant......despite it all, he is still within easy striking distance of the criminal contesting him for the presidency. Admittedly, he is lucky that she is a terrible and tawdry candidate to oppose. Personally, I believe the polls are in reality closer than the current 5% Clinton advantage because no matter how hollow or fraudulent, the constant din that Trump is 'racist, sexist, xenophobic" will cause some weak-kneed politically correct Americans to deny the support they will offer Trump in the privacy of the ballot box.
THE DIVIDING LINE IS NOW BEING DRAWN
More and more, Americans will reach the same conclusion many of us already have, Trump is PRO-American and offers solutions to problems. Hillary Clinton, will continue the ANTI-American
policies of the present Obama administration that in too many cases, CAUSE the problems in the first place. As Reagan aptly noted: "In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem."
In the simplest terms, even ignoring what might happen with the various Hillary Clinton scandals and criminal investigations, this election will pit a populist Pro-American against a socialist Anti-American. The Brits just dumped the anti-Brit controllers in Brussels. We can't afford not to do the same here.
Stripped of its excesses, Donald Trump’s Wednesday speech contains
all the ingredients of a campaign that can defeat Hillary Clinton this
fall.
Indeed, after the speech ended Clinton was suddenly defending the
Clinton Foundation against the charge that it is a front for a racket
for her family’s enrichment.
The specific charges in Trump’s indictment of Clinton: She is mendacious, corrupt, incompetent and a hypocrite.
“Hillary Clinton … is a world-class liar,” said Trump. She faked a
story about being under fire at a Bosnia airport, the kind of claim for
which TV anchors get fired. She has lied repeatedly about her email
server.
She lied to the families of victims of the Benghazi massacre by
implying the atrocity was a spontaneous reaction to an anti-Islamic
video, not the premeditated act of Islamist terror she knew it to be.
