Dennis Prager: ‘My Opposition to Donald Trump Was Wrong,’ He Is a ‘Great President’

“My opposition to Donald Trump was wrong,” said Dennis Prager, describing Donald Trump as a “great president” whose political successes are connected to a disregard for the left-wing and partisan Democrat news media narratives.

Prager’s comments came during Thursday’s episode of his eponymous radio show. While Prager has said that Trump was his last choice during the Republican primaries, he supported him vigorously in the general election against Hillary Clinton.

“The only way to govern [while advancing] the principles of conservatism,” said Prager, was to disregard left-wing and partisan Democrat agitation pushed across the news media landscape. Prager said:

Home Depot co-founder Bernie Marcus in an interview slammed Democrats on tax reform, telling them to use their brains.

"Democrats, use your stupid brains. You don't have any brains and don't understand what happens," Marcus said on Fox News on Saturday.

"This is not going to turn overnight. Corporations are not going to open 14 buildings overnight. Come on, give me a break, you've got to use your brains," he said, referring to improvements in the economy.

The Week: The Constitution is ‘an outdated, malfunctioning piece of junk’

Via Billy

We’re well aware there are headlines out there that are nothing but click-bait, and we were almost certain this was one of them. The Constitution is terrible and needs to be thrown out?

Ryan Cooper is being serious, though. In The Week Saturday, he concludes that America should “throw the entire Constitution into the garbage:”
One of the biggest problems with the Constitution as written is it makes changing anything nearly impossible. Other countries regularly ditch or overhaul their constitutions to deal with new problems — and even America has done so in the distant past. When the first stab at a U.S. Constitution proved totally unworkable, Americans of the day didn’t fuss around with stipulations that “the Union shall be perpetual.” Instead they threw the whole thing out and started from scratch.

The Islamic Invasion and the Spanish Solution

I’ve opined - screamed! - for years about the Islamic Invasion – Jihad by migration called Hijra – and how it must be stopped and then pushed back.  Understand that Mohammed himself was a refugee from Mecca to Medina – which is when he switched from the purely-religious version to Political Islam.  (And in parallel, I find the lack of historical knowledge among my fellow Jews who push for more Islamic refugees to come to the US particularly appalling; the Jews of Medina took Mohammed in – how’d that work out for them?  Yet even when informed of this they clamor for more… it’s like there’s a geas over them.)

How to mend chain migration (without ending it)

How to mend chain migration (without ending it)

The debate over chain migration leans toward the extremes. The left instinctively cries racism over any plan to limit future numbers, regardless of country of origin. But some on the right fail to understand how merit-based systems can be exploited and don't recognize why we need to preserve elements of chain migration. My experience as a former foreign service officer who has issued thousands of immigrant visas tells me that we need a merit-based system that is highly selective, and a family scheme that allows Americans to bring spouses and minor children to the United States, but not other relatives.

Trump: Amnesty Offer Intended to Expose Democratic Cynicism

A new poll shows the GOP is more trusted than Democrats to handle the hot-button immigration issue — and large percentages of Hispanic and African-American voters are backing President Donald Trump’s “Buy American, Hire American” immigration policy. The respondents were asked” “Who do you trust more to handle the following issue?” The answer for immigration was 40 percent for Democrats, 41 percent for the GOP and a huge 20 percent for “Don’t know” or “No answer.”  That is a large percentage of non-answers, and likely hides a block of pro-Trump supporters who fear to respond truthfully.

The poll of 1997 registered voters was conducted by Morning Consult for Politico. The poll was taken January 20 to January 21, ensuring it includes some reaction to the Democrats’ decision to filibuster the 2018 budget to win amnesty for illegals.

President Donald Trump carefully distanced himself from his unpopular amnesty proposal late Saturday night, saying that it is intended to show the GOP’s sincerity and the Democrats’ cynicism and obstructionism.

The giveaway amnesty deal was instantly and universally slammed by the Democrats’ ethnic and progressive activists, although Democratic leaders were careful to pocket the uncapped amnesty offer while demanding yet more concessions. The proposal emerged as Senate Minority Leader Sen. Chuck Schumer told the New York Times that he had agreed to fund wall construction in a face-to-face meeting with Trump while privately believing he could not deliver on the deal.
