Election Edition

 

It's important to keep elections in perspective. The Youngkin win in Virginia was a backlash against wokeness and willful societal destruction in the name of not being a horrible person. The old saying "nice guys finish last" reflects the rough and tumble world of politics. For those who would rather maintain civility, decency and self respect, it's sometimes better to lose than to get into the gutter with one's opponent just to win, depending on what one stands to win. When it comes to a bonus, or a raise, one might opt to remain decent and faithful to the virtues one promotes to his children. When it comes to the survival of the nation or the culture, there are no depths that should not be plumbed in order to win that fight, because no virtue is taught by starvation or execution.

Democrats who are staring in disbelief at the election returns underscore exactly why they lost: They did not fully understand the state they’ve been governing.

Parties often understand why they’re about to lose. That does not appear to be the case here. I hesitate to say a party deserves to lose but the fact that so many Democrats are astonished by Glenn Youngkin’s victory in the governor’s race suggests they were out of touch with the Virginia electorate and might benefit from being chastened.

Southern Heritage and “New Right” Populism

 

The current conservative populous movement appears to offer some hope of mounting an effective resistance to the corporate state that was established during, and has largely adapted and stayed in power, since the failed War for Southern Independence. While having turned away from the endless wars and being able to effectively mobilize people to resist the political establishment that has controlled both parties, they generally hold to a Straussian or Neo-Conservative historical interpretation and in other respects have some similarities with both the neo-conservatives that arose in the 70’s and 80’s and the “New Right” of the late 50’s and 60’s. Both of these initially had some appeal to the Southerner but ultimately proved to be no friend and in most cases were more of a Trojan horse pointing out the dangers of the old adage, “the enemy or your enemy is your friend”.

This Republican sweep in Virginia is a resounding rebuke of the failed policies of Joe Biden and the Democrats. Virginians – and Americans across the country – are fed up with Biden’s divisive policies, failed leadership, and a Democrat agenda hurting working families. A Republican wave is coming in 2022, and Virginia is just the start.”

RNC Efforts: 

• The RNC made a multi-million dollar investment in Virginia to elect Glenn Youngkin and Republicans up and down the ballot.
• This investment went towards hiring over 100 field staffers on the ground to build a massive grassroots organization of volunteers and opening 13 Victory offices across the Commonwealth. 
• RNC staff and volunteers made well over 5 million voter contacts to elect Republicans up and down the ballot in Virginia.

Loudoun Official Claimed He Might Not Have Seen Email Informing Him Of Sex Assault — Despite Responding To It

 

Internal Loudoun County School Board emails show a shifting explanation about how much school board members knew about a bathroom sex assault, with one member writing to the superintendent in the wake of cover-up allegations that he might have “missed an email” informing him about it — even though he previously responded to that very email asking a follow-up question, after also hearing about the incident from someone else.
