“The President tries to tax, to tax our way out of debt. Placing the burden on those earning more than $100,000,“ Rep. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) said on the House floor this morning.

“The problem sir, is a simple one, that if we were to tax these individuals 100 percent of their income we still could not cover our deficit this year alone. As a matter of fact, to tax our way out of debt we would need to increase taxes across the board on every man, on every woman and every business by 60 percent, you simply cannot tax your way out of this debt.”

"Friends, this is an extremely time-critical call for action. As many of you know, Wisconsin has been ground zero in the conservative fight to take back our country. When Governor Scott Walker decided to get serious about controlling run-away government spending, the left decided to make Wisconsin the big stand against the tea party conservatives. When their walk-out of State Senators didn’t work, they went to court. And then they dropped a surprise bomb of $3 million to take over the Wisconsin Supreme Court. We won, but they are trying to steal this victory away from us.

Thanks to many of you, conservative Justice David Prosser beat his liberal activist challenger by around 6,000 votes. Big national unions have spent millions of dollars on attack ads trying to smear Justice Prosser, and aren’t ready to accept election results and their defeat. Now they are funding a full statewide recount of the ballots, and have hired Al Franken’s attorneys to reverse the election results like they did in Minnesota. This race has become much bigger than just the two candidates – it is in fact a battle between big-government, entitlement addicted, anti-Second Amendment liberals, and conservative leaders trying to restore fiscal sanity.

EVIDENCE IS now in that President Barack Obama grossly exaggerated the humanitarian threat to justify military action in Libya. The president claimed that intervention was necessary to prevent a “bloodbath’’ in Benghazi, Libya’s second-largest city and last rebel stronghold.

But Human Rights Watch has released data on Misurata, the next-biggest city in Libya and scene of protracted fighting, revealing that Moammar Khadafy is not deliberately massacring civilians but rather narrowly targeting the armed rebels who fight against his government.

Misurata’s population is roughly 400,000. In nearly two months of war, only 257 people — including combatants — have died there. Of the 949 wounded, only 22 — less than 3 percent — are women. If Khadafy were indiscriminately targeting civilians, women would comprise about half the casualties.

Gun shop owner expressed concerns early on in "gunwalker" scandal

Damning, newly-obtained emails show that a key gun shop owner made explicit concerns in writing last year in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms' "gunwalking" scandal.

Starting in late 2009, ATF allegedly directed an undetermined number of Phoenix-area gun shop owners to go ahead with sales of thousands of assault rifles and other weapons to suspicious buyers. Insiders claim ATF knew the buyers were connected to Mexico's drug cartels, but let the guns "walk" onto the street anyway in a misguided attempt to obtain intelligence. ATF and the Justice Department have denied that.

Investigators from Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) obtained the emails this week.

NC Rep. Sue Myrick: U.S. government has no strategy to deal with Muslim Brotherhood

The federal government has no strategy to counter the Muslim Brotherhood at home or abroad, according to the chairwoman of the House panel that oversees counterintelligence and terrorism.

“The federal government does not have a comprehensive or consistent strategy for dealing with the Muslim Brotherhood and its affiliated groups in America,” Rep. Sue Wilkins Myrick said during a hearing Wednesday. “Nor does it have a strategy for dealing with the Brotherhood in Egypt or the greater Middle East.”

The North Carolina Republican is chairwoman of the House Intelligence subcommittee on terrorism, human intelligence, analysis and counterintelligence. Mrs. Myrick said at the hearing that she planned on scheduling closed classified hearings on the Muslim Brotherhood this session with government officials.
