E-Verify 'flags' Obama's Social Security Number

Via RANDY'S RIGHT

A private investigation reveals that the Social Security Number being used by Barack Obama does not pass a check with E-Verify, the electronic system the U.S. Citizenship and Immigrations Services of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has created to verify whether or not prospective employees have the required authorization to work legally in the United States.

Over the past few years, the E-Verify system has received national attention because of its ability to determine if prospective employees are illegal immigrants who have entered the United States without the legal authority to work.

By flagging fraudulent documents, including faked Social Security Numbers, the E-Verify system can assist an employer in the effort to make sure all prospective hires have authentic identification papers, including valid Social Security Numbers, issued to them and not to someone else.

Napolitano denies knowledge of Gunwalker (Yeah, right.......)

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told senators for the first time Tuesday that she had no knowledge of a botched federal gun-tracking program while it was ongoing.

In testimony before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, Napolitano said she was first made aware of the Fast and Furious operation after U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was killed in the line of duty.

“Let me be very clear for the record, you were unfamiliar with Operation Fast and Furious while the operation was under way?” asked Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).

“That is accurate,” Napolitano replied.

The Obama Bible, AKA The New Book of Jobs

The Obama Bible, AKA The New Book of Jobs

Apparently the $447B check cleared and Obama was allowed to deliver Part Two of the “American Jobs Speech” he gave last Thursday. To set the proper ambiance, Obama strategically placed lots of “working Americans” behind the podium as a backdrop for the momentous occasion, including veterans, teachers, construction workers, police officers, and firefighters. What—no community organizers?

Obama appeared to have escaped the bondage of his liberal ideas and his do-nothing reputation. Chased out of Liberalia by that evil Tea Party Pharaoh, Obama possessed the countenance of Moses, seemingly descending Mount Sinai as he strode forward to the podium.

Obama promised to deliver his ideas with no subterfuge. Unlike his actions in the past such as sealing his college transcripts, there would be transparency with jobs. Obama would not treat jobs like his birth certificate or his Harvard writings and other musings. Lobbyists are not welcome here, as jobs are the order of the day, and almost three years into his presidency we need to know that jobs are Priority #1.

“In the event that no jobs are created, fear not. For Obama giveth unemployment benefits.”

Forget the past where Obama preferred to have Congress provide ideas that he would simply mock. This time Obama would make this happen; Obama would deliver. Moses met with God, but for Obama, that was wholly unnecessary. Obama was now The Deliverer.

Report held high in his left hand, Obama declared,

“Behold, America, I give thee…‘The American Jobs Bible.’”

All was good in America, as we now have our new bible: The Obama Bible, AKA The New Book of Jobs.

Collecting the Confederacy

Shannon Pritchard with some of his collectibles.

By the time he was 12 years old Shannon Pritchard had discovered his calling in life—collecting Confederate artifacts. He started out relic hunting near battlefields, obscure campsite locations and forgotten fortifications. Today, at age 48, Pritchard is a consultant for serious collectors of the rarest and most valuable Confederate memorabilia. His Virginia-based business, Old South Military Antiques, deals in the highest-quality collectibles. Virginia Living spoke with Pritchard at his secluded country home east of Richmond.

So, when and how did you get interested in Confederate things?

I began relic hunting when I was a kid. It started as an interest, quickly became an obsession, and before I knew it, it was an addiction. I mostly found bullets at first. When I could not find enough underground...I began looking above ground. I bought a nice buckle and some buttons from a gentleman, studied them, and afterwards sold them for a profit, and bought something better. This is the way it went for a long time.

The relics you found were genuine, but how did you know the real thing when you started buying things from collectors and dealers?

I would study, study, study. And read whatever I could. There wasn’t much literature back then. They didn’t really have a lot of Civil War collectibles shows either. I searched out more experienced collectors and dealers about my finds to pick their brains.

And what was the result of that? How did that affect your collecting?

It changed my whole perspective. I began to understand what to look for in a belt buckle, for instance. What a genuine buckle looked like, felt like, and how it was made—the color, patina, texture, wear-points, etc. I’d take pictures and make measurements. I’ve always employed my instincts, but instinct without knowledge can be dangerous, especially when a piece is tantalizing.

Why is that?

There are a whole lot more Union artifacts to be had than Confederate. The Yankees just had a lot more stuff to drop, lose, discard, wear, waste and shoot. Their stuff was quite standardized—uniform, regulation, government-made in the millions. The bulk of Confederate things are individually made, even homemade, piecework, or at best manufactured by small concerns, state depots and armories. That holds true for all of [it]—swords, leather goods, uniforms, pistols, muskets, etc. A lot are just downright crude and cobbled together. To me, these rough and rugged things speak more eloquently about the Confederate soldier and the cause than the stuff the North turned out does about theirs.
