Being in a city under siege

After last post and the video about Homs in Syria I received some more questions about how it felt in city under siege. So today I share some details about this kind of chaotic urban warfare situation.

When SHTF there might not be army outside shooting at you, but there might be gangs who prey on you to get your supplies. Being under siege feels like someone takes the ground away you walked on.

Nothing is like it was before. When you defend your home you need to have mindset change. Home is not cozy secure place anymore. Home is the place you chose to defend yourself and loved ones. You will feel very different about place you used as defensive base forever.

To stay protected or to try to protect against firing and shelling required some skill, knowledge and in lot of the times good luck.

I can say that at the beginning people acted very brave, but on the other side that was not courage, it was more like lack of knowledge how easily man can be killed. People went out like kids with water pistols only that getting wet might be own blood or blood of friend on you.

So i watched few times how man attacking another guy who is hiding behind some cover. Attacker is just running towards the guy behind cover and constantly shooting. Other guy behind cover just leans forward for second, gets timing right, and kills the foolish attacker.

AP Rigs Poll for Obama

Via Legal Insurrection

The Associated Press is rigging polls again and is not disclosing the startling fact that its polling firm, GFK, has been granted federal government contracts since Obama has been in office. This is not a major surprise to our readers because we have come to expect very liberal bias from the so-called mainstream media, but this goes beyond business as usual and well into the area of inventing favorable news for Obama to help create the impression that his reelection is inevitable.

This week the AP again reported that their polling firm had determined that Obama would beat any of the Republican candidates but we looked at the raw polling data and once again, the AP and GFK had cooked the numbers by sampling ten percent more Democrat/Democrat leaning than Republicans. Nearly all national polls have determined that there is an even split between Republicans and Democrats, and some pollsters give a slight edge to Republicans. For example, a Gallup poll taken at roughly the same time period that shows Romney with a four point advantage over Obama and Santorum in a dead heat. For the AP, which like the other mainstream media outlets, have made an issue of demanding disclosure from political donors seeking special treatment from the government, this is much worse. This is a news agency getting apparent special treatment from the government in exchange for obvious political news coverage that benefits the Obama administration which controls the purse strings for at least part of their pollingfirms business.

Following is our report from last May when we initially uncovered what should be a huge media scandal:

Amb. Bolton: Obama’s Apologies for US ‘Incite’ Violence Abroad

President Barack Obama’s readiness to apologize for an apparently accidental Koran-burning incident is a signal of weakness that actually incites further unrest, former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton says.

In an exclusive interview with Newsmax Saturday afternoon, Bolton said that President Obama’s apologies are only making things worse.

“Look, you apologize when you’ve done something wrong and you want to make amends,” Bolton said. “You don’t apologize when makes you admit to a mistake that you haven’t made, and in fact in this case incites the people to do some of these things, because they think the apology is an admission of wrongdoing.

“When in fact,” he added, “I think the facts are still murky as far as I’m concerned, but I don’t think anybody set out intentionally to desecrate the Koran. I think quite the opposite is true.”

For Geithner, math is hard

For the whole administration for that matter.

Ed has already begun the process of digging into the President’s new tax plan, but as time goes by even more interesting tidbits emerge. One of the more unintentionally amusing ones comes to us from Tim Geithner himself, writing at the Wall Street Journal. In this detailed, fact-driven piece, Geithner points out how terribly unfair it is for U.S. energy companies to get away with paying such low taxes while raking in massive profits and living large on government subsidies.

“The effective tax rate on the energy industry in the United States today is much, much lower than the average. It’s lower because the tax code provides a substantial amount of subsidies to those private companies. We propose, for lots of reasons, mostly because we think it’s fair and more efficient, to dial some of those back.”

My, my… that does sound like a problem. Somebody should look into this at once. I mean, I don’t want to see the energy companies getting over-taxed, but they need to kick in a little something if they’re turning a profit. There’s just one problem with this complaint, though. Forbes has been tracking which companies are paying how much in taxes for some time now. Guess who actually pays the most?

Bar Patrons Beat Would-Be Robber to a Pulp With His Own Shotgun

Not only did John Columbus Beane leave penniless after two armed robbery attempts on November 7, his shotgun was reduced to pieces by patrons at a bar he held up who allegedly took the weapon from the would-be robber and clubbed him with it repeatedly.

The Charleston Gazette reports that Beane had first attempted to rob a Pizza place, but after the cashier fled through the back exit the rober was unable to open the register. After that, Beane hit the bar where patrons hit him:

“‘I thought maybe he was a weirdo,’ Harman said, at first not realizing that Beane was there to rob the place. ‘Halloween’s over.’

Beane pointed the shotgun at Harman and in a near-whisper told her to hand over whatever was in the cash register. That’s when local drifter Steven Thaxton, one of the two patrons in the bar at the time, stepped in.

Thaxton laughed, and according to Harman, said, ‘You’re not going to try and rob us with a BB gun, are you?”

How does he get away with this?

I have no doubt whatsoever that public knowledge of the following has to occasionally make Obama nervous and apprehensive, smoking butts like a chimney. Perhaps that’s why he’s rumored to be kept sedated. Xanax, anyone? Prove me wrong.

Obama spends million of tax payer dollars to defend himself against all comers in at least two dozen lawsuits demanding to see his records. So far, no court in America will hear the case on its merits. Prove me wrong.

Like pimps, his handlers keep their money-maker under their control, toe-ing the line with tried and true drugs of choice: ego, power, perks, male lovers, and crack cocaine. Prove me wrong.

The “community organizer” and his “wife” have never had it so good. Vacay, anyone? Taxpayer-underwritten campaign trips? Millions of dollars for Madame Michelle’s entourage of make up artists and courtesans? Private schools for their spawn?

What ever it takes to keep their boy and his beard sweet.
