Va. middle-schoolers assigned opposition research on GOP candidates

A Virginia middle school teacher recently forced his students to support President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign by conducting opposition research in class against the Republican presidential candidates.

The 8th grade students, who attend Liberty Middle School in Fairfax County, were required to seek out the vulnerabilities of Republican presidential hopefuls and forward them to the Obama campaign.

“This assignment was just creepy beyond belief — like something out of East Germany during the Cold War,” one frustrated father, who asked for his family to remain anonymous, told The Daily Caller.

The assignment was for students to research the backgrounds and positions of each of the GOP candidates for president and find “weaknesses” in them, the parent explained. From there, students were to prepare a strategy paper to exploit those weaknesses and then to send their suggestions to the Obama campaign.

Liberty teacher Michael Denman, who declined to comment, unveiled the assignment in mid-January when he broke the Civics Honor’s class into four groups, one for each Republican candidate. The students were then to collaborate as a group and research the backgrounds of their assigned candidate.

Denman assigned two kids to write a paper revealing the identified “weaknesses,” two to write the attack strategy paper and two others to locate an individual inside the Obama campaign to whom they could send the information.

Obamacare Causes State to Demand Cancer Free 9 Year Old be Given Possible Cancer Causing Drug Treatment

Imagine yourself as the homeschool parent of a young son who is diagnosed with cancer. Your emotions run a rollercoaster ride of highs and lows. Your son undergoes treatment and your heart is nearly wrenched out of you as you watch him react to the treatments.

Eventually your son appears to be cancer free. Scans are made that reveal no trace of the cancer that had once threatened him. Over the course of the next year, he has had three scans and none of them detect any cancer. At age nine, your son is cancer free and you rejoice and thank God for healing him.

Then suddenly, your world is dashed to pieces when the state health officials demand that you start another aggressive round of chemotherapy. You become exasperated trying to convince them that he is cancer free and does not need the additional chemo. The state does not relent and tells you that if you do not comply that they will bring medical neglect charges against you. You look up the drugs they insist be pumped into your now healthy child and find out that the FDA says their safety and effectiveness in children has not been proven and that one of them may cause additional cancer and delayed cardiotoxicity.

What do you do and who do you turn to?

This is not a fictional what if story. This is exactly what has happened to Ken and Erin Stieler and their son Jacob. Michigan state health officials state that provisions implemented by Obamacare demand the follow up treatment and have filed a lawsuit to force them to submit their son to the potentially dangerous drugs.

Since they are homeschool parents, they turned to the Home School Legal Defense Association. Michael Farris, chairman of HSLDA has acknowledged they are working with the Stielers to fight for Jacob’s health and life. Farris posted the following on the HSLDA website,

“If they succeed they will force Jacob to resume chemotherapy despite the fact that the drugs in question are not FDA approved (either for children in general or for this particular cancer). Moreover, these drugs do not promise anything close to a guaranteed cure. And, the FDA requires the drug manufacturers to disclose that these drugs cause new cancers to form, heart disease in children, failure to sexually mature, and many other serious side effects in some cases.”

Everyone needs to take notice of this case as it is not the first of its kind and definitely won’t be the last. This is Obamacare in action. Medicine no longer has anything to do with the patient’s current condition. They have a rule book and insist it must be followed, regardless of how harmful it can to the patient. It seems Obamacare has taken the expression of “we’ll cure you even if it kills you.”

Perhaps if we all flood the Michigan Health Department with emails, letters and phone calls on behalf of Jacob Stieler, they may reconsider their intent to kill this healthy child.

Sheriff Joe wants Obama's original draft card

Following up on his investigative team’s finding of probable cause that Barack Obama’s Selective Service registration form is a forgery, Maricopa County, Ariz., Sheriff Joe Arpaio has asked Selective Service Director Lawrence Romo in a letter to produce original documentation.

A copy of Obama’s registration form indicates the registration took place at the Makaki Station Post Office in Honolulu on July 29, 1980. Arpaio wants court-approved, forensic experts selected by his office to examine the original for its authenticity, as well as any microfilm or computer copies that may exist.

In the letter, Arpaio also asked Romo to pursue his own investigation to determine when and how Obama’s Selective Service registration was submitted and entered into the agency’s records.

“No doubt your agency has established procedures for investigating probable cause suspicions when a Selective Service Registration card has been forged,” Arpaio writes.

Top Romney Aide: We'll 'Etch-A-Sketch' His Conservatism Soon

There's no problem about Mitt Romney taking conservative positions during the primary that may upset the liberal media; come this fall, he can erase them and start all over again.

That's the word from Eric Fehrnstrom, a senior campaign aide to Romney, who told CNN Wednesday that after his candidate's big win in Illinois Tuesday he can still change course.

“Everything changes,” Fehrnstrom told CNN. “It’s almost like an Etch-A-Sketch. You can kind of shake it up and restart all over again.”

Fehrnstrom's comments, which tried to explain how former Massachusetts Gov. Romney could re-invent himself after a right-leaning campaign against Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum, went viral across the web Wednesday.

With the disclosure, conservatives found confirming evidence that their GOP frontrunner really doesn't believe those Reaganite, "severely conservative" positions he has been articulating in recent months.

The Fehrstrom remark may have been dismissed if Romney didn't have such a long track record of flip-flopping on major issues like abortion, tax cuts, a national health mandate and other issues.

Senior Romney aides, meanwhile, have offered policy plans that directly contradict their candidate's stated position, suggesting that a Romney administration may raise tax increases for high-income earners and that key parts of Obamacare will be kept in place.

How one man escaped from a North Korean prison camp

There was torture, starvation, betrayals and executions, but to Shin In Geun, Camp 14 – a prison for the political enemies of North Korea – was home. Then one day came the chance to flee.

His first memory is an execution. He walked with his mother to a wheat field, where guards had rounded up several thousand prisoners. The boy crawled between legs to the front row, where he saw guards tying a man to a wooden pole.

Shin In Geun was four years old, too young to understand the speech that came before that killing. At dozens of executions in years to come, he would listen to a guard telling the crowd that the prisoner about to die had been offered "redemption" through hard labour, but had rejected the generosity of the North Korean government.

Guards stuffed pebbles into the prisoner's mouth, covered his head with a hood and shot him.

In Camp 14, a prison for the political enemies of North Korea, assemblies of more than two inmates were forbidden, except for executions. Everyone had to attend them.
