Study: U.S. Net Employment Gains Since 2000 Have Gone to Immigrants

A new study of government data has found that all of the net domestic gain in employment over the last 13 years in the United States has gone to foreign-born (legal and illegal) workers.

The same study found that the number of working-age native-born Americans has declined by 1.3 million over the same time period and the changes have impacted native-born Americans of every race, gender, education level and age, particularly men, blacks, and Americans of Hispanic descent.

Steven Camarota and Karen Zeigler, of the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), found that between the first quarter of 2000 and the first quarter of 2003, the working-age native-born population increased by 16.4 million and accounted for two-thirds of the overall growth in the "working-age population (16 to 65)." Yet, there were 1.3 fewer native-born Americans who were gainfully employed in the first quarter of 2013 than were in the first quarter of 2000.

Guns, Molotov cocktails seized from stolen truck near UW

A photo of the truck seized Wednesday following a stop by University of Washington police, pictured in a Seattle Police photo.

Police and the FBI are investigating after a man was stopped Wednesday driving a stolen truck packed with weapons, Molotov cocktails and body armor near the University of Washington.

Police stopped the truck at 10:30 p.m. in the 3400 block of Sand Point Way Northeast after a UW officer determined the truck had been reported stolen out of Montana. The driver of the truck, a Nevada resident, was arrested without incident and booked him into King County Jail.

According to a Seattle Police statement, investigators found a scoped rifle, a shotgun, suspected incendiary devices -- bottles filled with flamable liquid -- and body armor inside the truck, which was reported stolen from Butte, Mont. Police contend the firearms had also been stolen.

Recall Sought for Colorado Democrat over Gun-control Effort

Image: Recall Sought for Colorado Democrat over Gun-control Effort

Two Colorado Democratic lawmakers facing recall elections for their support of the state's strict new gun control laws failed in separate attempts to block or slow their recall elections Wednesday.

The secretary of state's office ruled against Senate President John Morse of Colorado Springs, who wanted his recall effort invalidated because of a technical error by his opponents.

Deputy secretary of state Suzanne Staiert also rejected a request by Democratic Sen. Angela Giron of Pueblo to have her recall challenge shifted to a new venue because she said Republican Secretary of State Scott Gessler wouldn't fairly decide her case.

The twin decisions mean appeals and more legal wrangling over what could be the first state legislative recall elections in Colorado history.

U.S. explodes with 100 anti-NSA protests

Americans outraged by the federal government’s spying programs took to the streets on Independence Day for “Restore the Fourth” protests in an estimated 100 American cities, including New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, Seattle, Memphis and Miami, plus international cities such as London and Munich.

The “Restore the Fourth” national protest was named after the Fourth Amendment, which was intended to protect Americans against “unreasonable searches and seizures.”

68% believe Obama was aware of IRS plan/63% believe he was directly involved

Americans by large margins believe that despite President Obama’s claims of innocence, he not only knew of the Internal Revenue Service strategy to target conservatives, he used the feared federal agency for payback against his political enemies, according to a new poll.

In this case Mark Levin realizes that there are forces that appear to want to annihilate Christian Traditional Culture.  They are providing diplomatic cover while Egyptian muhammadist gang-rape Christian girls to wipe out their race.  They are providing weapons and diplomatic cover and weapons to Syrian muhammadist who are cutting the heads off of Catholic Priest.  These forces are trying hard to remove the so-called “gun culture” which is actually the American culture.  They are ensuring your daughter has Plan-B ready and available, condoms for your son, and that in truth you should just “choose” be homosexual any way.  They are dedicated to wiping you off the map.  And there may not be enough left to stop it.

Use the New Online Freedom Index to Hold Your Congressmen Accountable

This Independence Day weekend is a good time for reflecting on our system of government and how we need to do a better job of holding our elected representatives in Congress accountable. If you're thinking along these lines, then our new online Freedom Index is just the thing for you. You can also access the new online Freedom Index by clicking on "Voting Index" in the menu bar on either JBS.org or TheNewAmerican.com.

After seeing our new online Freedom Index based on the Constitution with cumulative voting scores for all 100 senators and 435 representatives listed by state for the years 1999-2013, one of our longtime members told his friends, "This has to be seen to be believed."

Please take a look for yourself. We think you'll agree.

Clicking on an individual congressman's name takes you to a page with a photo of the congressman along with his average Freedom Index score for each Congress he has served in, all the vote descriptions for each vote cast from the original print Freedom Indexes, and a link for each vote description to a page showing how all the members of the House or Senate voted on that roll call vote.

Once you're on the Freedom Index page a single click on the "Past Members" menu item takes you to a similar Freedom Index page with cumulative scores for past members of Congress who have served fairly recently. Clicking on one of these past members' names gives you a new page with all the same details described in the previous paragraph.

Our new online Freedom Index includes the first Freedom Index report on the 113th Congress (which will appear in the print version of The New American for July 22, 2013) with ten votes scored for the House and ten for the Senate. These will be the first ten votes you see when you click on an individual congressman's name in the online Freedom Index and scroll down to see the detailed voting record.
This new online Freedom Index should be a big help for grassroots activists to hold their congressmen accountable for their votes.

Contact your senators and representative to bring their online Freedom Index voting record to their attention along with thanking them when appropriate and asking for explanations when appropriate.

Before emailing your congressmen, we recommend that you go to the online Freedom Index (click on image above) and look at how your senators and representative have been voting so that you can personalize your email message to them with questions about their actual votes. Be aware that the one email message goes to both of your senators and your representative, so you'll need to add something like "Attn: Rep. Blank" somewhere near the beginning of your email message in order to direct a question to your representative. Ditto for your senators.

Thanks.

How to Create a Food Storage Supply for You and your Spouse … For as Little as $5 per Week

Via Cousin John

supermarket

People who live in America rarely consider the need for building up a food supply to offset a national crisis, such as a devastating war or a natural disaster, simply because food in the United States is so readily available and easy to obtain.

However, if something terrible did happen and supermarkets did not remain open, people who planned ahead – like you, for instance – would have the ability to survive and overcome the food shortage. This is not to suggest that Armageddon lies ahead, but it is always wise to prepare for the unexpected and the unforeseen.

And now … you can do just that.  A recent article appearing in a survivalist magazine provided the blueprint for building a substantial and nourishing food supply over a 52-week period. Importantly, the foods that can sustain you and your spouse can be bought once each week for about $5 (perhaps a bit more if prices in your area have risen).

Do the math: the cost for building your emergency food supply is going to be very affordable – just $5 per week (approximately) for 52 weeks … a mere $260. That’s not a lot of money, especially when you consider that you can spread the cost out over a full year. And, while the foods may not seem exotic or overly enticing to you (see the list below), they will sustain you and your spouse. And they are nutritious.

Here is the list of purchases you need to make weekly – for One Full Year …
