As Americans prepare for Thanksgiving, the federal government released its
semiannual regulatory agenda.
This agenda clearly shows that the federal government is preparing a
blizzard of proposed regulations in the New Year—including many which
will affect educators.

Three agenda items for proposed regulations stand out: public school
education of children with special needs, public school teachers, and No
Child Left Behind waivers.
Although there is nothing in this agenda to indicate that the
proposed regulations would threaten homeschool freedom, they point to a
disturbing trend of the federal government attempting to control our
nation’s education system. As we have seen with the battle over the
Common Core, even though the Common Core only applies to public schools,
it is a long-term threat to every student, including homeschool and
private school students.
