Part 1 of The King Street Riot of 1876, The Most Violent Race Riot in Downtown Charleston During Reconstruction

NOTES:
1 This paper was written 22 years ago and turned in May 2, 1998 for a Victorian Charleston history course taught by Professor Robert P. Stockton at the College of Charleston when I was a middle-age student. The parallels between the violent leftists of the Democrat Party today, and the violent Republican Party during Reconstruction, are striking. Both used (and Democrats today are still using) racial hatred, division, and violence, to stay in power.

The sidewalks along Meeting Street in Charleston, South Carolina were jam packed with exuberant people from Broad to Marion Square just after dark, Friday, August 25th, 1876, two weeks before a violent race riot would rage on King Street.

Bystanders this night numbered around 7,500 and they were cheering an impressive torchlight parade, part of a Democratic Party rally that had started at Broad Street "amid the clash of drums," the hissing of rockets and Roman candles, and music. As far as one could see, Meeting Street was "a perfect blaze of light with torches, transparencies, lanterns, blue lights and rockets" moving steadily toward Marion Square, called "Citadel Green" back then.2

The parade itself was over 6,000 strong led by 500 men on horseback. Every window "along the line of march was crowded with ladies and children, who waved their handkerchiefs in response to the cheers of the men."

Why Biden’s Handlers Picked Kamala: Some Essential Background on Kamala Harris

🇺🇸🍎LUCY KNOWS🍎👓🗽🇺🇸 on Twitter: "Prediction👉🏿 Commie-La ...
Just a few disturbing radical Marxist ideas embraced by Harris and most Congressional Democrats are open borders, Medicare for illegal immigrants, huge amnesties, gun confiscation, easy vote fraud, and reversing Trump tax cuts. She is actually a co-sponsor with AOC of the economy-destroying, nation-bankrupting Green New Deal Climate Equity Act.
Joe Biden may have approved Kamala Harris for the Vice Presidential nominee of the Democrat Party, but he did not pick her. The dominant leader in making that choice had to have been former President Barack Obama, but there were others whose opinion and political and personal influence were essential

Michelle Obama, of course, undoubtedly had a weighty personal influence. Congressional leaders Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer had to be part of that decision. The choice also had to be acceptable to Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Probably both former Obama attorney generals Loretta Lynch and Eric Holder had a heavy consultative influence, as well as current Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison. The choice also had to be acceptable to Bill and Hillary Clinton.

Big Tech Takedown of Conservative Groups

This is actually an attack on speech with which the Leftists do not agree. It is that simple.

Two more Big Tech companies have coordinated another attack on groups of Patriots and Conservatives across the United States. Facebook and Twitter have reportedly removed thousands of pages from conservative groups, including campaign pages, militia groups and personal pages of people connected to them.

The takedown of the campaign pages for these conservatives could be seen as election interference, and discussions are underway as to the remedy for this action.

Main Stream Propaganda is reporting this purge as an “effort to limit violent rhetoric tied to QAnon, political militias and protest groups.“ However, I have looked through many of the pages that were deleted and never saw any of them advocating violence, unlike many Leftist, progressive posts.

With Democrats pushing universal mail-in ballots for all Americans, President Trump on Wednesday said if people can “protest in person” they can “vote in person.”

Trump’s tweet came as protests continue in several major cities following the death of George Floyd May 25 while in the custody of Minneapolis police. While many state governors have enacted stay-at-home regulations for residents, they allow for protesters to gather in large groups, with or without masks.

Rare Photos of Hue From a Vintage French Publication in 1919

Photos] Rare Photos of Hue From a Vintage French Publication in ...

Hue is a city of empires, dynasties, armies, conquest and rule.

But while lords, politicians, rebels and generals vied for control of the country, ordinary people lived very different lives in the same city. They farmed, ate, prayed and played in the shadows of power.

Sometimes, the city's imposing architecture that towered as manifestations of the nation's might served as background; visible but of limited daily importance. Other times, they carried on in the city's open fields, wide river and thick forests that remind us that man's dominion has limits in the face of nature.

Hue has been a capital city since as far back as the fourth century, with its reach ebbing and flowing as different factions assumed control. Emperor Gia Long made it the capital of his reign in 1802, and it wasn't until French occupation that it would lose this distinction. Yet throughout this entire period, it has also been home to farmers, teachers, musicians, cooks and merchants. These photos, taken in 1919 by an unattributed photographer, tell their story.

Published in a French book presenting French Indochina, they chronicle what appears to be a slow, traditional lifestyle.

Candace Owens Announces Massive Lawsuit Against Facebook

BLEXIT founder Candace Owens will sue Facebook over its “blatant censorship” after the social media platform demonetized her page following her comments about senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) swearing into congress in 2017 as an “Indian-American.”

Candace Owens said that Facebook has suppressed her page after she commented her thoughts on senator Harris being chosen as Democrat nominee Joe Biden’s vice president for the upcoming November election.

“I am SO EXCITED that we get to watch [Kamala Harris], who swore into congress as an ‘Indian-American’, now play the ‘I’m a black a woman’ card all the way until November,” said Owens upon hearing the news. “Fun times!”

Goodyear Claims It Has ‘Always Wholeheartedly Supported’ Law Enforcement After Trump Encourages Boycott

Goodyear Tire addressed the widespread backlash after a slide from what was said to stem from an employee diversity training program went viral, denying that Goodyear corporate was behind it and emphasizing the company’s support of the police.

While the company did not explicitly give employees the green light to wear “unacceptable” symbols, such as MAGA attire, it left the door open for them to openly support popular SJW causes.
