Catholic and 46 other Churches back Obama’s Gun Grab

Think you have a problem stopping Obama’s plan to take your guns? The problem is bigger than you thought.

The Catholic Church and 46 other churches support Obama’s effort to confiscate our guns. The New World Order has infiltrated our government, our scientific societies, our schools, and our churches. The NWO determines what people believe.

Catholic News Service reported the details on January 14, clearly stating that the Catholic Church’s position is “Firearms in the hands of citizens should be strictly limited and eventually completely eliminated.”

I did not realize until reading this how much the Catholic and other churches disregard facts when they draw conclusions. By the way, we have a similar pattern regarding global warming. The following statements contradict what is proven to result when a government attempts to confiscate citizen’s guns.

The report quotes from the document, “Responsibility, Rehabilitation and Restoration: A Catholic Perspective on Crime and Criminal Justice“, November 2000, says in a footnote:

“However, we believe that in the long run and with few exceptions — i.e. police officers, military use — handguns should be eliminated from our society.”

Tommaso Di Ruzza, Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace expert on disarmament and arms control, said:

“The Vatican is one of just a handful of states that would like to see small arms and weapons included in the U.N. Arms Trade Treaty, which would better regulate the flow of conventional arms.”

  1. Who are the other forty-six churches that were referred to?

Is my own chosen faith, The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints, among that group?

    2. I really doubt the Mormons have any problems with guns seeing they have a history of sticking up for themselves against the govt.

    5. Your headlines did stated Catholic and 46 churches not leaders of churches. I am Catholic and a proud owner of several guns. I have a life time conceal carry permit. I will ask my Priest if he knows what the churches stance is. If the Catholic Church is against guns, I can change my church. I believe in God and Jesus Christ not so much any domination. If the Catholic Church is against gun owner rights, I will find another place of worship, where they are not against the right to keep and bare firearms. Thank you for your information...

    6. Yes as that was the headline of the linked piece and thanks.

    7. Hey, Brock, that's Mobile Infantry Corps, not Invalid Corps. We are nothing if not valid and a man holding a loaded Mosin-Nagant is not an invalid. Heh.

  2. Really? You "did not realize until reading this how much the Catholic and other churches disregard facts when they draw conclusions"?

Do you have even a passing familiarity with the last 5000+ years of human history? 'Disregarding facts when they draw conclusions' in the service of tyranny and coercion has been the modus operandi of organized religion since the dawn of time.

  3. Brock, when you hear "the Catholic Church says" unless it's the Pope himself talking and quoting from a dogmatic document such as one of the creeds, don't take any statement by a 'Vatican spokesman' or some high church official seriously. We have, unfortunately, many church officials who confuse their own ideas and beliefs with official church dogma.

    1. I don't understand why the pope didn't rebut his statement then.

  4. What is missing here is that it's not the church PEOPLE that feel this way, it the leadership with the people sitting silently behind the leadership accepting whatever the leadership says.

It's leadership that has been infected with this cancer but it is gradually bleeding down into the people and so the cancer must be cut out be people recognizing it for what it is and speaking out or taking action.

  5. Speaking as a humble Christian and servant of Christ Jesus, any intelligent, open-minded review of the Bible reveals that neither God himself, nor Jesus Christ his son and my Savior, at any time preached and/or advocated that the State should disarm private citizens for the "good of all" or "for the children". Quite the contrary, Jesus himself said "Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one." - Luke 22:36

Obviously, Jesus was not advocating violence or retribution against anyone. He was simply repeating, and therefore reinforcing, one of the major tenets of the Bible; that being the DUTY OF A MAN to defend his own family, as well as the "innocent". "Thus saith the LORD; Execute ye judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place." - Jeremiah 22:3 To hold otherwise requires a twisted reading of the word of God. “[They] do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.” Mt. 22:29

Steve "scotju" Dalton: It matters not whether the "pope" issues any "official" statement or edict, he does not speak for true Christians. “[They] do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.” Mt. 22:29

  6. Ann Barnhardt has had a few choice words to say about what has happened to the Catholic Church over the past 80 years or so. And she doesn't hold back. Grand daughter is Catholic so I read Ann with some personal interest.

  7. Oh oh! That headline could be asking for trouble. Look guys, its real important to note that the Catholic Church and the Pope do not make authoritative statements regarding US legislation and political matters. They never have and they never will! It might be helpful to remind everyone that there is a distinct difference between the Catholic Church, the Vatican, and the role of the Pope. "Catholic Church" is the name given in reference to all the Catholic faithful around the world. Every parish (city/town) has priests; every region/state has bishops; and the shepherd of the entire Church is the Pope. The only "authority" of the Catholic Church is the moral teaching authority known as the magisterium.

Vatican City is a sovereign city-state with lots of people and special councils. With all due respect, the men working at the Vatican can have all the opinions they want on politics. So what! That doesn't make it official for anyone except perhaps the Vatican citizenry. When it comes to national politics and government leaders, the most the Pope and Catholic Church can do (other than pray) is provide advice and guidelines on moral principles. Its highly doubtful Obama will ever heed the advice of the holy Pontiff in Rome.

Also, the Vatican news agencies are just like any other mainstream news source. They can no longer be relied upon for the truth -- the full story with details coming from the right sources.

I'm Catholic, a gun owner, and a Texan. I'm pretty sure that every Catholic I know here in Texas is pro-gun. So, I'm curious to know what exactly was your intent in writing this headline? What did you expect to achieve? I hope it wasn't aimed at making people afraid of Catholics or the Catholic Church. Right now we all need to stick together in stopping tyranny. The last thing we need is more confusion and derision.

Read this article entitled "A Vatican spokesman's misguided statement on gun control." It's from an excellent alternative Catholic news source:
