Lunch 1– 2

III CQB at Brock's Fall PATCON

On Friday, October 4th at Brock's PATCON I will teach two III CQB courses. The first is my "Fight to your Weapon" course. For 8-hours you will learn how to immediately break, put to sleep, or kill a man who manages to get into your personal space and would dare put his hands on you, and techniques that will earn you 1-3 seconds so that you can either deploy your weapon or escape. Then I will teach a modified 3-hour "GroundFighting 101" course, which will involve sparring for those who choose to do so. Most fights go to the ground. The ground is an equalizer. It takes strength and size and sex and age out of the equation. It allows the 98-pound lass to break the man built like a bull. The "Fight to your Weapon" course is the same - the techniques taught are deliberately selected so that age, size, sex, strength are not factors in the fight.

To enroll in the course for Brock's PATCON, simply hit the PayPal button at my site
III Percent Patriots that is specifically for his event. You'll find it on the right-hand column under Brock's Free North Carolina flag. The cost is $210. (You can also include the fee in one check to me when you pay for the PATCON. BT) I am NOT charging extra at Brock's for the GroundFighting module. Also, I am donating 1/2 of all fees to Brock so he can continue to host these fantastic events that bring Patriots together. There is no maximum number for enrolling at this event - Holly will be with me and we can easily train a large group. We train rain or shine.

IIIGear will donate several items again this year to be raffled, with all proceeds going to Brock, again to help finance his outstanding events.

Dave, can we please shoot and "heal" a hog this time? Or at least shoot one with different calibers to see actual terminal/wound ballistics. If not, since Dr. Dan played a victim last time, maybe we could shoot him (a .22; "just a flesh wound" :-))

    Dr. Dan, ONLY KIDDING! (maybe)

Israel, if you are reading, I know Mirabelle will be glad to see you since you made her an official "Redneck" last time.

Great and this will make 7 and 10. If both classes do go off as it seems at this time, they will be held probably Thursday and Friday, so showing up Saturday won't cut the mustard.:)

    3. Thursday October 3rd to Monday October 7th

The only two days are Thursday and Friday as Saturday is the main day and everyone left on Sunday the last three PATCONS. They will probably be 9 to 5 as they are eight hour classes. It's up to the Dave and Sam though. I'm assuming we will have enough participants to hold both classes based on the initial response. If so, then I will include Wednesday in the schedule so that people can arrive the night before if they are going to take the medic course.

  8. Brock, a P.S. to my previous message. Make sure to schedule the TC3 class to occur AFTER the III CQB class. I'll probably need some TC3 myself after getting my a#$ kicked by Sam :-)

  11. My apologies to all who wished to take the TCCC class. As you know I presented a condensed version of TCCC at the spring PATCON and though It was a good introduction, it still did not satisfy my professional standard of insuring each student learned and retained the critical elements. That was mainly due to having only one day to present it, not from any lack of motivation or learning abilities on the participants part. Hell, we even had two experienced MDs and one ED RN in the class. The main reason I am withdrawing my offer this time is, I want to know that when someone invest their time and money (and in some cases pain and suffering) that they go home with a complete grasp of the fundamentals of TCCC and the ability to perform them. I simply cannot do it in one day to that standard. I will be offering a 2-5 day program in the near future for those interested which will give more time for the lessons learned from the battlefield to be absorbed and a more realistic training venue. There will be a formal registration process involved and you can simply contact me through secure email; sfmedic@hushmail.com

  29. Hi Brock,
Jim Kennedy advising per Jill's emails.
I will place in the mail tomorrow a check for two attendees and possibly additional for sponsor status (if that is ok and time permits).
I was informed about this patcon on Saturday at our NCAR meeting.
I have been extremely busy this week with work and the Colfax free fair every night this week as I don my Confederate soldiers uniform,
as has H.K. Edgerton and members of my camp to recruit new members at the fair. We have had problems at the fair the last few years as far as not being able to have any semblance of the confederate flag there, but out attorney ( Kirk Lyons of the SLRC) contacted their attorney and got that straitened out. We still have problems with them and amazingly enough the SAR has had problems with them this year.
After the first night they pulled up stakes and left.
    I fight on.
I appreciate you letting me send a check a little late, but I will have it in the mail tomorrow.
    Thanks and God bless, Jim

    6. Received funds from Cousin John for Allen and Glen Aycock for the PATCON. Thanks.

The current weather forecast for Thursday through Sunday:

59 - 88, partly cloudy to sunny and 0 to 10% chance of precipitation. Looks like about perfect. Three campers from last year are spending the night here so far with one more coming as far as I know.
