Senate
President Pro Tempore Phil Berger, House Speaker Thom Tillis and
Governor McCrory can't seem to figure-out how to work together to move
critical legislation like the ominbus gun bill, HB 937.
Rather
than do what they know is right by NC gun owners who are largely
responsible for electing them, they are pandering to the NC Sheriff's
Association (NCSA) and NRA who has been trying to butt into state level
affairs.
These Republican leaders need to cut-out the political pandering,
and get HB 937 negotiated through the Conference Committee and onto
Gov. McCrory's desk. This needs to happen WITHOUT weakening
modifications and WITHOUT burdensome expansion of the obsolete pistol
permit system.
We have an excellent bill. There has been a clear effort made to address NCSA concerns. The session will end Friday so right now it is do or die: ignore the malcontents and PASS THIS BILL!
