Looks like the man is white and if so, there will be no marches or protests.......................
Sheriff's department condemns news station for publishing cell phone footage
Cell phone video obtained by a local news station appears to
show the moment two Texas deputies gunned down a man who held his hands
up, contradicting police’s version of events.
Slow down the video and it looks like his right hand drops right before the first shot. I can't tell if it's before or after though. Not a great moment either way.
I apologize in advance for this, but I think it's a result of the round traveling faster than sound that makes it seem as if he drops his right hand before the shoots are heard. That is, he is already dead on his feet and dropping an instant before we hear the sound of rounds fired.
Would that not be correct though, we see him fall then hear the shots? I mean without the audio it looks like he was going for his hip, and then shot, but with the audio the shots would have happened he went limp arm dropping, then we hear the shots. Or am I wrong on this?
I noticed an expanding blue circle in the sky and as I asked my friend what it could be, a huge explosion sounded. It was the shock/sound wave (which you see before you hear the explosion) of a section of the Long Binh ammo dump going up. http://www.namsouth.com/viewtopic.php?t=19&highlight=long+binh
I have friends and family who are or were police officers, I hope I would never see any of them on a video like this...I have seen too many videos similar to this one over the past few years. I DON'T TRUST COPS ANYMORE !! I have a carry permit and usually have a weapon under my belt. One of my greatest fears is being thrown to the ground with a foot on my neck before ever having a chance to show my permit, or...being shot if they see the gun. Cops shooting kids, women, unarmed people. You would think with all the videos and publicity, police would hesitate a second or two to be sure of the situation. This video is a prime example................
Ya, but a shock wave can go super sonic in a huge blast like that was clearly, but we sure cant compare a shock wave from a ammo depot going off to a 9MM or 40 cal pistol shot off. The speed of light says we would see the movement then hear the shot I think. I don't know, too many unknowns. If those body cameras were off though, I call murder on this one. I am not trying to argue either side on this until further notice but this looks bad, We could be in for a huge bad deal coming soon.
Yes, that is the way it works, especially as the distance of the shot increases. For better or worse, as most of us know, use Hathcock's shots as a reference. For his shot's, even the ones of average and middle distance, not a one of his kills ever heard the shot. Even if a small number were not killed instantly, none of them ever heard the shot.
To even further exacerbate the situation, the sheriff's department's first account was BS and they got caught in their lie. Then, they tried to shame the television station for releasing the tape. On one story I saw the District Attorney says there are two tapes and the second one is much closer and of greater quality. Also, they had an eyewitness that said the man at first had a chair. He put the chair down and walked to the SD vehicle, opened the door and when the two officers approached he put up his hands and was standing that way when they shot him. The witnesses exact words were, "they murdered him". Whatever the story, the ending will go something like, "the two officers were put on administrative leave with pay". "The investigation has been concluded and the two officers were completely following protocol and department guidelines when they acted to defend their lives and being cleared, they have been returned to duty". Lastly, the taxpayers of Bexar County will get to pay the lawyers bill and the civil court settlement.
I have not read anything stating the SD had or were wearing body cameras. I think my initial comment (which was intended as sarcasm) might have led some to believe that there were in fact cameras. From what the DA stated, I got the impression that the second film was also taken by a citizen (I try to refrain from using the word "civilian" as many LEO's today use that word to describe anyone other than lawman or soldier).
When anyone pontificates about how horrible it is that all the cops are getting killed show them this video, the video of Walter Scott being shot in the back or countless other videos of official state sanctioned crimes by the state's hired thugs. And people wonder why cops are being shot. The reason is VERY obvious.
That is terrible. I bet the boys in blue were not wearing body cameras either.

Thanks.
DeleteWatching that makes it hard to feel bad for the others that have fallen lately. Makes me nervous when their around too.
ReplyDeleteIf they did have body cameras on, they could tell more.

ReplyDeleteI checked it again and I believe you may be correct. Seems it was right before the shot to me.
DeleteLooks like a very nice neighborhood, too. Ah....nothing to see here; move along.

sad, sad, sad. another question after watching was that one cop carrying a ballistic shield or vest?
ReplyDeleteI couldn't see/tell.

ReplyDeleteThanks and what's the deal on body cameras now? Seems like all should wear them as it would produce both sides of the story.

ReplyDeleteShould be mandatory and can't see why there should be anything other than 100% approval among all who might be involved.
