John Robb Hits It Out Of The Ball Park

VERBATIM

The policy wonks are up in arms over the NYTimes and WaPo interviews with Trump on foreign policy and trade. They simply can't say enough about how uninformed Trump is on this topic.... but there's something wrong with this picture.

The same wonks who claim to "know" everything have gutted the US economy, gotten us into wars we can't win, and plunged entire regions of the world into chaos & terrorism.

Personally, I like that both Sanders and Trump are isolationists.  People profoundly out of step with the demands of an "Imperial Presidency"  In my view, the Imperial Presidency beloved by the policy wonks should have died with the end of the cold war.

Yet it's still here, eating our future, in Zombie mode.

PS:  What if, and this is a crazy notion, we simply focused on making the United States a success story, rather than a poorly run Imperium?

  2. excellent idea!
no pol will go for it.
my mother, a european by birth, has never understood why the usa hasn't made the americas and relations with the western hemisphere a priority.
sure, we can trade with anybody but the ties of security and friendship should first be with canada and mexico and then with central and south america.
but only God can get us out of our mess, human planning is always flawed no matter how good the ideas seem.

  3. Some say isolationist as if it were a bad thing. Which is the intent of those using it. I see it as common sense, and it used to be called, minding your own business. If other nations want our help, then let them ask for it. What the wonks don't understand is that there are some problems that simple can NOT be fixed.
The FUSA has been trying to made the other nations of the world just like us, with its' version of one size fits all. Maybe "they" don't want Coke Cola, our entertainment or this notion that "democracy" should be imposed on all the nations of the world. It was the so called experts, who created the mess that we have now. They will continue to make matters even worse, because their egos will never let them admit that they were wrong. An Imperial President is just another way of saying dictator, with a PR image of being a nicer guy, than the "brutal dictator" over there. BTW, ever notice that heads of state of nations that we (the FUSA) are described as a "brutal dictator"?

    1. Thanks and they can have democracy, but not our Republic if we ever get that back.
