Will Trump Be Swindled in Cleveland, Too?

 http://buchanan.org/blog/wp-content/uploads/Will-Trump-Be-Swindled-in-Cleveland-Too-2-700x245.jpg

In the race for the Republican nomination, Donald Trump would seem to be in the catbird seat. He has won the most states, the most delegates and the most votes -- by nearly two million.

He has brought out the largest crowds and is poised for huge wins in the largest states of the East, New York and Pennsylvania.

Yet, there is a growing probability that the backroom boys will steal the nomination from him at a brokered convention in Cleveland.

Over the weekend, Colorado awarded all 34 delegates to Ted Cruz. The fix had been in since August, when party officials, alarmed at Trump's popularity, decided it would be best if Colorado Republicans were not allowed to vote on the party's nominee.

After all, these poor folks might get it wrong.

  1. Your premise is incorrect. The Colorado GOP moved to this caucus/delegate system to ensure that the next time Mitt Romney runs for President, the Colorado caucus does not give its delegates to Rick Santorum, like they did last time.

The change was introduced 8 months ago, and it was supposed to keep all "insurgent" candidates (Trump, Carson, Santorum and Cruz, alike) from upsetting the apple cart for a JEB, Mitt or even Kasich (as though he can get his motor started).

It is just too bad that Trump can't manage to get his act together and figure out how to win within the established rules.

    Cruz somehow can.

Trump just isn't getting the correct team assembled in a timely enough fashion to take advantage of these state-by-state rules for awarding delegates.

On an analogous note...in NY, Trump had 2 of his children, Ivanka and Donald, in a PSA about registering for the NY Primary.... Unfortunately the two of them missed this deadline and are still registered as Democrats.

One would hope that Trump's organization was more organized and doing a better job, throughout.

  2. The more I read about the CO situation the more it appears to me that people are being spun up over a non issue.
The rules for delegates are VERY different than other states.
Also - though Trump says 'no one voted', 65k people DID vote, across 8 congressional districts, and all 8 went for Cruz, so he got all the delegates. I think Trump is pissed there wasn't a general election, but he's not saying that. He's accidentally his sentences, per the norm, and not completing his thoughts/complaints on the issue, so it comes out 'OMG rigged!'

I think he failed to dig his heels in and to fully grasp the rules in order to then master then enough to win. I don't blame him for being pissed, but I think he needs to be pissed at himself.
Fox will call the event 'shenanigan ridden' but that's pretty disingenuous. Cruzs' team knew the way the CO's system worked, worked them and owned the votes.
I think these guys may have the right track.

...as much as I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see Trump blow the system up, starting with the fatassed elephant...

Check this site out - seems to have a nice break down of the delegate process across all states.
