The irony of a liberal African-American political commentator calling
for the disenfranchisement of a minority population group appears to be
lost on MSNBC’s Joy Ann Reid. Reid labeled rural Americans “the core
threat to our Democracy” and called for the abolition of the electoral
college to limit their ability to influence elections and government,
“This is the core threat to our democracy.
The rural minority — the
people @JYSexton just wrote a long thread about — have and will continue
to have disproportionate power over the urban majority.” And, “That
(ending gerrymandering) and the abolition of the Electoral College would
be a start.”

Folks in her social circle I would hazard a guess don't have farming skills or know how to drive an 18 wheeler. 3 days. There seems to be a consistent pattern here: calls for the abolition of the Electoral College when there candidate loses the election. Democracy is a form of mob rule. Liberals are all for mob rule so long as they get to be the elite few, who control the mob. Liberals are like two years old; they throw a temper tantrum when an adult tells them "No". The more a Liberal calls for the abolition of the Electoral College, the greater the appreciation I have for it and the wisdom of our Founding Fathers for including it.

DeleteI'm all for helping the poor, BUT you're not helping the poor when your program how ever well intentioned rewards people for their bad behavior. If you continue to increase welfare benefits and programs for women who have children out of wedlock, guess what women will continue to have even more children out of wedlock. And at the same time, those same programs punish women who do get married. There is no reward for men to get married and to the hard thing of holding down a job, and provide for their families when the welfare state encourages men to act like irresponsible teenagers (the thug/gangsta culture). I'd put LBJ on the list of worst presidents ever. If LBJ did any good for this country I can not think of what it was. Midas touch in reverse.
