Camp Lejeune Marines To Libya Because Two Wars Aren't Enough........

JWR Notes: I still have a lot of "cui bono?" questions about this military adventure. Why are the French so heavily involved? What reconstructions deals were made, in order to create the coalition? Why was Germany so incensed that they withdrew their troops from NATO? Is Gaddafi's gold reserve an issue? How about the Libyan Dinar? (Were there plans to make it a gold-backed currency? That would have been an embarrassment to all the other nations that issue fiat.) Why is there a double standard with other Arab dictatorships? What is Al Qaeda's involvement? And the 64-Dollar Question: What sort of government will replace Gaddafi's dictatorship? Perhaps a dictatorial Islamic caliphate? IMHO, the Iraq war was bad enough, in lacking an exit strategy, but this seems even worse--with no certain end game or even a clear victor. Cui bono? Cui bono?

Let's see, at first we said all we wanted was for Qaddafi's troops to leave the cities they were attacking, then when they did on Sunday, we wiped out their tanks. Why on God's green earth has anyone taken the word of the US after Vietnam? Pitiful. Fools all, as we shall desert you, never fear, just wait for the blood bath in Afghanistan when we leave.

We've seen Camp Lejuene Marines in Iraq and Afghanistan and now they are joining the fight against Libya.About 2,200 Marines from the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit will take part in support operations based aboard USS Kearsarge at sea. Those support operations have thus far included air strikes and one rescue operation. The overall mission is to help end the violence directed at the Libyan people.

  1. How are the Marines going to modify their hymn?

Are they going to ad another verse, or just ad "again" to the first stanza?

"From the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli-again. "
