Oath Accountability Act

VERBATIM POST

Appallingly, many of the authoritarian statists who have been eating away like termites at our republic swear oaths to uphold the very document that serves as its foundation. Wouldn’t it be nice if statist politicians paid a price for this betrayal? They will be — if the Oath Accountability Act becomes law. The Essential Liberty Project explains the purpose:

To restore the Constitution’s strict enumeration of the central government’s “few and defined powers,” we must, first and foremost, require that all members of the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches abide by their oaths “to support and defend” our Constitution — under penalty of law. At present, there is no legal penalty for Breach of Oath or legal obligation to abide by the plain language of our Constitution.

Please help us enact, through judicial or legislative action, strong penalties obligating all elected and appointed federal officials to abide by their oaths. If the federal judiciary refuses to hear this action, then we will take it to the national legislature for codification into federal law. In the words of Thomas Jefferson, “Bind [them] down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution.”

  1. I agree 100%

Everyone who serves the country, from the lowliest police officer, to the average soldier to the President himself should be subject to this. Whatever penalty should be doubled for members of the justice system to deter them from throwing out cases where the constitution is breached.

No more of this "National Security trumps the Constitution" as happened when Jesse Ventura's case was thrown out.

  2. I also agree 100%.

The problem, as I see it, is thus:

They are all criminals. Those who actually commit the crimes, and those who allow those crimes to go unpunished.

This covers nearly 100% of the "Oath Takers" in government.

Who will enforce this new law? The fox is guarding the henhouse.

  4. waste of time.
    They'll never pass it.
They'd never enforce it if it WAS passed.
    Who will enforce it?
SIMPLE! - the same people who were SUPPOSED to enforce the oath taken by all the EXISTING traitorous criminals:
    We The People.

If 1% of our population had the balls G*d gave Our Founders (PBUT) there would be a shortage of tar, feathers and Oath-breakers in Sodom-on-the-Potomac.

God help us -- and GOD SAVE OUR REPUBLIC!
