Goes without saying
Paul is likely to finish second here in the "Live Free or Die" state, after having finished third in Iowa, and it is difficult to imagine any scenario in which the libertarian-leaning Texan could win the GOP nomination. He does not have what the pundits call a "path to the nomination." And yet the implausibility of Paul's campaign does not seem to deter his notoriously enthusiastic supporters.
"President Paul! President Paul! President Paul!" hundreds of them chanted in a Nashua aircraft hangar Friday, expressing the least likely of all outcomes in this topsy-turvy Republican campaign. As absurd as such hopes may seem, however, it is remarkable that the candidate most likely to win – former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney – generates nothing like the excitement shown by Paul's supporters. Republicans are seemingly prepared to nominate the tepid "It's His Turn" candidate, while rejecting the only candidate in the GOP field who comes near to matching the cult-like following inspired by President Obama.
There are many mysteries to the phenomenon that is Ron Paul.
My post on L&P earlier tonight follows same line...

So it was written. The powers that be in the "conservative" party are once again bringing forth their anointed one, but there is something very wrong with the results and me thinks they might be worried. It is not the fact the King Mitt has made history with winning both Iowa and now NH which has never been done before. In fact I would be surprised if going into SC and FL if King Mitt did not carry those as well as it has been decreed that it is his time.
What then could possibly make the powers that be of the Grand Old Party worry about the results. Well first off it looks like a "crazy old fool" named Ron Paul has had a decent follow up in the first two contests. A man who wastes his time speaking about such arcane things such as Liberty, Freedom, the Constitution and a solid economic policy and sound currency. Secondly the third place in NH who didn't even show up to play in Iowa is a candidate where earlier today the exit polls showed from what I heard on patriot radio that 51% of those who voted for him had the Big O as a second choice.
History was made tonight for sure in more ways than one. I will tip my hat to Romney as he has made history tonight as did Obama back in 2008 and I am not sure that there is where the similarities stop or will stop if he manages to get elected in 2012. But what I think is the one thing that has the PTB worried in the "conservative" party is that the second and third place winners are way off base from the line they expect you all to walk. The other "more" conservative candidates (winkin blinkin and nod) came in a distant 4th, 5th & 6th.
Just my humble observations and one even more humble prediction: welcome to 4 more years of Obama/Biden or will it be Obama/Clinton if that is what it takes to win. Either way there will be little difference in the long run which ever party wins. The fight not only is not over, but in the words of John Paul Jones, "I have not yet begun to fight!"
