Google reported today the results of the Maine Republican Caucus on Saturday, February 11, after 100% of the precincts’ reports were in. No surprise there: Mitt Romney wins with 45.7% of the vote, Gingrich 33.5%, Ron Paul 10.5%, Santorum 9.7%. Exactly the results the Republican establishment wants to see. Maine went maine-stream. You can see the results on the snapshot from the Google page today.
Except that . . . today is still Friday, February 10, a day before the caucus. The Maine caucuses are a week-long procedure, there are unofficial reports from the different counties, but none of them can be considered “in” until tomorrow. And, as of now, according to the unofficial reports, Ron Paul is winning the state with well over 45% of the voteBut Google knows something that the Maine caucus-goers don’t. And that a day ahead. And that something is what the Republican establishment wants . . . and will stop before nothing to achieve – push Mitt Romney down the throats of the Republican voters.
Of course, Google is not as good as Newsmax who posted the results in Nevada not one but two days ahead. Newsmax, apparently, is much more enthusiastic about serving the GOP leadership. Twice more enthusiastic, to be exact.
In case some of us are conspiracy theorists, let me clarify that such things don’t mean that there is voter fraud committed by the Republican leadership. There is always some other explanation that can be offered instead of the obvious one. Whatever that other explanation is, it must exclude the possibility that the GOP elite is corrupt. After all, they are politicians, and American politicians are never corrupt, right?
Not even close. 39% to the Mittser and 36% to Dr. Paul, with I believe 18% to Sanatorium and 6% to the Grinch...
ReplyDeleteGuess they were trying to influence late voters.

ReplyDeleteTHIS is how they influence our elections! - and all their "pre-polling" is done to influence ALL of them!
"Well, I WAS going to vote for RP but then I saw how he was in 9th place and only 3% supported him, so I switched to #2...
