Dear Marriage Supporter,
In the last couple of weeks, the energy from our supporters has been explosive. Just this week we've added over 28,000 volunteers. The campaign office has been buzzing with phone calls and emails from allies all across the state asking about ways they can help protect marriage in North Carolina. They recognize the importance of protecting the most important institution in the history of humanity against activist legislators and judges. We are grateful for this support.
However, the opponents of marriage have not remained neutral. They have recently announced that they have acquired nearly 30 staff members to spend their days opposing the protection of this important institution. In addition, they have used such radical organizations such as MoveOn.org to gather signatures opposing public proponents of the Marriage Amendment. They have boasted that over the past week they have added 14,000 volunteers and mislead 15,000 voters through scare mongering designed to misconstrue the Marriage Amendment.
This is where you come in. With slightly over two months remaining until the May 8th election date, time is short. You have an opportunity to counter this deceit by informing the public about what the Marriage amendment really says. As one of many supporters of marriage, we’re reaching out to you to assist us in spreading the word about protecting this important institution, to your friends, family members, colleagues and neighbors.
Here are a couple of ways you can ensure the passage of the May 8th Marriage Amendment by taking a couple minutes out of your day:
1. Spread the Word: Visit www.VoteFORMarriageNC.com/
2. Tweet the Word: If you haven't already, follow our Twitter and Facebook accounts, and make sure to retweet our tweets. The Marriage Amendment is clear and concise and can fit in a single tweet: @Vote4MarriageNC "Marriage between one man and one woman is the only domestic legal union that shall be valid or recognized in this State."
3. Forward the Word: Forward this email to five of your friends or family members, and ask them to use the Spread the Word feature and share their support on Twitter and Facebook as well. Help keep this email in circulation.
By helping Spread the Word, you help ensure that North Carolinians define marriage for themselves, and not some radical organization or judge.
Please visit VoteForMarriageNC.com to volunteer, donate, and get involved.
With your support, we can protect marriage in North Carolina.
Sincerely,
Leonard Goenaga, Grassroots Coordinator
