Not sure about that Brock, but Pie Town sure is, it is located in Catron County. Surrounded by some serious wilderness country, the Gila Wilderness, full of Elk, Bear and Cat absolutely beautiful country. Sitting between 8000 and 11000' above sea level.
Nothing like coming over a tree line about 5:30 a.m., fog covering the ground about 30 degrees outside and spotting a herd of Elk numbering about 300. Nothing but an itchy trigger finger and a heart about ready to beat out of your chest!
Very cool man.
ReplyDeleteTexaco, that's just right up the road.
Pie Town, NM? Is the station still there?

Seems like a great retreat area and thanks for the picture. So Pie Town is abandoned, I take it.

Guess it's gone then.
ReplyDeleteNo, it is still there, population as far as I can tell.. a thriving 191.
ReplyDeleteReal estate to be had. A little rough living though.
Saw a new restaurant opening and a 3 bedroom rental/lease coming up.
