A battle to save the American Republic

The Battle for American Survival
The Moral Imperative to Defeat Barack Obama

Mike Scruggs

We are only seven months from what will probably be the most important election in American history. Never before have America’s founding principles and values been more aggressively threatened by an incumbent president and his party. Virtually everything Americans have believed in, worked for, prayed for, and fought for in the last 250 years is at stake. The voting on November 6, 2012, may be our last chance to turn back the radical economic and social agenda that is threatening our freedoms, our values, our prosperity, our families, and our national security. Republicans and like-minded independents must come together and win this election to save our country and put it back on the path of liberty and prosperity.

In order for Republicans to win in November, we must defeat a powerful enemy. President Obama will use the power of government, the left-leaning bias of most of the mainstream media, and a billion dollar campaign fund, probably including massive foreign infusions of cash, to obscure his disastrous record and discredit and demonize Republican candidates. This election will be won by the party that can get its supporters to the polls. The Democrats have the formidable help of organized labor and the radical subsidiaries and front organizations of Acorn.

The Democrat Party can turn out huge numbers of voters by making just two phone calls—one to the Labor Union bosses and one to Acorn. Republicans are going to have to work much harder than they have ever worked before to counter this national Democrat Party juggernaut that has been falling into place for many months.

We are not engaged in a spectator sport with victory or defeat having few consequences. The winners of Super Bowls, NCAA Basketball Tournaments, and the Masters’ Golf Tournament receive tremendous national focus and acclaim for a short time, but the glory of victory or pain of defeat in these sports events have negligible consequences on the economic, social, and political conditions that will shape our lives and the lives of our children in the future. Neither victory nor defeat in such sports events will result in the loss your personal and religious freedoms, your property rights, and your right to shape your own life and determine your own economic future. None will transfer your savings to others, take away your right to choose your own healthcare, or undermine the strength of our Armed Forces.

But a political victory for President Obama and his party in November will allow them to continue their radical agenda for social and economic change with escalating militancy and increasingly aggressive measures. Obama’s plans for change threaten everything America has been in the past. No personal, property, political, or economic rights will be secure. His attacks on free speech, religious liberty, and traditional concepts of fairness and justice will continue with mounting ferocity. Everything that has made us a great and free people is at stake.

We cannot depend upon television ads to defeat Obama. We are going to have to make phone calls, put out yards signs, and engage our friends on the issues and consequences of this election. That kind of activity, by the way, is about three times more effective than media advertising. A yard sign is as effective as $500 of media time.

We must defeat President Obama, his party, and his radical agenda or the American dream of freedom, prosperity, and justice is in imminent danger of becoming a totalitarian Obama nightmare.

Men and women of patriotic heart and a love for truth and just government need to roll up their sleeves to do what is right and necessary to save our country from that nightmare. It is no longer a time for soft-pedaling Obama’s extreme radicalism. His misguided Marxist worldview is ruining the nation’s economy and severely undermining our freedom of speech and religion. His contempt for traditional Judeo-Christian moral teachings is devastating the morale and military preparedness of our Armed Forces. His czarist appointments and refusal to enforce immigration laws are defiantly violating the Constitution. While he claims to be a Christian, his policies have become more and more openly and militantly anti-Christian. Truth will be known by its fruits.

The November election will be as important as any event in history. I do not believe it is an exaggeration to say that it may prove just as important as the Battle of Britain in 1940, when the defending fighter squadrons of the Royal Air Force devastated the offensive strength of the German Air Force and saved Britain from almost certain defeat. This election could easily be as important as the Allied defeat of the totalitarian regimes of National Socialist Germany and Imperial Japan in 1945.

Let me be frank. This election will be a battle to save the American Republic from destruction by a radical president with a radical and increasingly totalitarian agenda. Patriotic Americans need to wake up and engage in the political process or see their freedoms, prosperity, and hopes for just government buried.

In a national radio broadcast following the massive attack by the Imperial Japanese Navy on Pearl Harbor in December 1941, President Franklin Roosevelt rallied the American people to rise up against their attackers. Exhorting the American people to “inevitable victory” in the defeat of their enemies, he closed his speech with, “So help us, God!”

It is time to throw off the dangerous secularist political correctness that is sapping the spiritual and moral strength of our country. We must remember with humility that our liberties and blessings are dependent upon the gracious providences of a sovereign God. In our resolve to stand against tyranny, let us also say, “So help us, God!”

  1. Voting for the Republican party is no better than the Democrats....both are big government organizations who have long trashed any attempt to stay within the bounds of the principals of the Declaration of Independence.....the answer is a lot more serious than voting and most of the nation will never see it....

  2. Neither party will fix this situation. I think a republican victory will slow the collapse but it will happen. I am of the thought that my best bet at this point is to encourage the collapse so we can get on with the rebuilding. For this reason and this reason only I will vote for Obama. The only republican candidate that would get my vote is Ron Paul. As far as Im concerned give the country its only chance all be it still a small one with Ron Paul or I will help burn it down by voting for Obama. Im sure his actions will be way worse with not having to be elected so I feel he will push us off the cliff. After that happens we can fix the country or countries that we have. So as far as I am concerned if Ron Paul is not on the ballot which there is about a .00000000001% chance he will be. Vote for Obama and help burn it down.
