VERBATIM POST
Wanis al-Sharef, a Libyan Interior Ministry official in Benghazi, said the four Americans were killed when the angry mob, which gathered to protest a U.S.-made film that ridicules Islam's Prophet Muhammad, fired guns and burned down the U.S. consulate in Benghazi.
He said Stevens, 52, and other officials were moved to a second building, deemed safer, after the initial wave of protests at the consulate. According to al-Sharef, members of the Libyan security team seem to have indicated to the protesters the building to which the American officials had been relocated, and that building then came under attack.
Stevens, 52, was the first U.S. ambassador to be killed in the line of duty since 1979.
Though information on the circumstances surrounding Ambassador Stevens's death remain unclear, it appears that the embassy was not guarded by American Marines, but instead by local Libyans hired to act as a security force.
Questions about the cause of Ambassador Stevens' death remain unanswered. Initial reports indicated that he died when the car he was in was hit by a grenade launcher. Subsequent reports indicate that he was suffocated.
But some reports indicated that he may not have been killed in an attack on the car, but instead was dragged through the crowd and killed in some other manner. A photograph purporting to be of Ambassador Stevens, who appears to be still alive, but being dragged through a crowd of militant protesters, appeared on the website National Turk.
In addition to Ambassador Stevens, two Marines and an embassy staff member were killed. The Marines appeared to have been sent in from another location just as the protest erupted
Is it me or does this sound like a set up?
ReplyDeleteNo Marines?
I don't know but it seems fishy
I'm getting ready to eat mahi-mahi my wife is cooking. Call it snaky or devilish.
ReplyDeleteHe sure doesn't look like he was blown up to me!
ReplyDeleteNow they are saying that it was a coordinated attack by the brotherhood as though we are surprised.
DeleteThe Muslim Brotherhood is a most frequent visitor in the White House. Our president is totally in over his head on all things Middle-East. Some problems can't be solved on the golf course. My wife says I am a malcontent looking for a leader. She's right, as usual.
ReplyDeleteObama canceled the National Day of Prayer. The Muslims don't ask for permission to block all the French streets all day on Friday with their prayer rugs. Why doesn't the American Christian Community have a pray-in at the White House and occupy it like the Occupiers do? We should surround the mosques also with decent, ordinary people praying 24/7. Bring BLT sandwiches so you don't get too hungry.
The prophet Habbakuk said,
"O LORD, how long shall I cry, and you will not hear! even cry out to you of violence, and you will not save!"
We have not yet begun to cry out. When do we start? Yesterday I told a King Soopers store manager that if we want something we must ask for it and he found a half-gallon of Newman's lemonade. I absolutely believe that asking is necessary. I have begun today to shift the time I have regularly used to surf the web to my AA Step 11, "Praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out." It has not failed me in 32 years of doing it. I am calling on everyone who ever took a drink to join me. I don't preach against drinking or smoking. We can pray this pestilence out of our country if we have the required intent. Who will join me?

I have Newman's Own coffee in the Keurig just waiting for you to show up.
I will send this to my wonderful Colorado neighbor, Ann Barnhardt. The Power of Two. I know she'll love it. She can be this malcontent's leader henceforth.

ReplyDeleteSounds good. I get the Trung Nguyen Vietnamese coffee here.
I also yesterday told my two vertigo therapist ladies that I am more and more convinced that women are the healers. They agreed. So I challenge women to heal this sick Nation. If the women lead the men will follow.
ReplyDeleteSo I challenge women to heal this sick Nation.
ReplyDeleteNow that's a challenge!:)
I'm afraid that I comment too much on this site and run some people off. But, I have read the best for years and I cannot fathom how so many posts of Brock's go uncommented on. Where is there anybody more pertinent to today, more sane and balanced, and just plain interesting than Free North Carolina? I know I'm an old fool but I read some of the posts and cry like a baby. What a treasure.
ReplyDeleteWe're just two old fools commiserating together.:)
Delete3 old fools...
ReplyDeleteYou're still young, my boy.:)
