Meddling

On 26 October 1949 President Harry Truman raised the minimum wage from 40 cents an hour to 75 cents an hour (87.5% increase in one jump), continuing a long tradition of meddling in an economy he didn't understand. Presidents have been doing that ever since.

  1. Thank you. In 1946 my mother told me, "When you vote for the lesser of two evils, you vote for evil." I have been actively preaching that in emails for the last year and have really been shelled by old "R friends". They claim I will elect Obama with my one vote out of 100 million. Well, I voted for Gary Johnson and wanted to vote for Ron Paul. And those same emails that lost me friends convinced one family member who voted for Obama last time to vote early for Johnson also. I'm happy. I will not vote for evil.
