Missouri Democrats Introduce Bill to Confiscate Assault Weapons in 90 Days

While everyone’s attention is on President Obama and the federal government’s attempt to strip Americans of the Second Amendment rights, politicians at the state level are trying to enact their own anti-gun laws without the general public knowing it.

Missouri Democrats have proposed a bill that would require everyone in the state who owns an assault weapon and/or high capacity magazine to turn them in within 90 days of the passage of the bill.

Sponsored by first term Democrat Rep. Rory Ellinger, from part of St. Louis County, House Bill 545 is a direct violation of the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution.  Like every other screaming frightened liberal, Ellinger and his co-sponsors have no concept of what an assault weapon really is.  His bill reads in part: [emphasis mine]

  1. I live in MO, and this bill will go nowhere. The Repubs have a super majority in the both houses of the legislature, so it's a no go. It shouldn't even be introduced, but grabbers are looking at the states now to do their evil deeds, not just on the federal level.

  2. The bill should read "to begin the civil war in 90 days" These elected tyrants have no clue just how pissed off folks are. Guess they are hoping to find out

  3. Uh Huh , Riiight , St Louis Co. or Kansas City are about the only two places this libtard douchenozzle could could have come from. I have been all over the state of Missouri from time to time , and I can assure you I would not want to be in the shoes of whoever is tasked with going back in the Ozark hills and publicly stating " I am here at the behest of Obama to seize your gun's ".

    1. As one LEO stated, door to door confiscation is a death wish.

  4. Thankfully the signs are that this will go nowhere. It smacks of political grandstanding more than anything else.

But, if it does pass, I say we throw 'em out of the SEC.

  5. The Dems are trying this in Wisconsin and Minnesota as well and will likely try it in other states. My suspicion is that they are poking at a hornets nest hoping to provoke people into making foolish moves against the government. Don't fall for their BS. Keep the pressure on the DEMS and let them continue to screw up until they lose it. Let the Dorners and police unions trash their plans.

  7. Did you folks do any research on the marxist Ellinger who introduced the Missouri confiscation bill ? He is a 71 year old lawyer and marxist. He claims to have been a bodyguard for Martin Luther King and was arrested and jailed with MLK. Further, this Ellinger was the president of the communist Students For A Democratic Society (SDS) chapter at the Univ of Missouri-Columbia. He was elected to the Missouri House at age 69. He was/is unopposed for the Missouri Senate.

Readers....develop your range cards. Understand that this attack on 2A and our Liberty and Freedom is being coordinated. Ellinger just came out of the clear blue and he is pushing soetoro-obama's agenda via state level politics.

Know Ellinger's campaign manager, his contibutors....KNOW YOUR ENEMY.

    1. I question Ellinger's heroic claim to have been MLK's 'bodyguard' on the 4/1966 march from Selma to Montgomery. I challenge Ellinger to provide independent validation of this dubious claim. I knew Ellinger well in those days and his only claim to heroics was he helped to build the platform on which MLK spoke, never as a bodyguard. Thousands of photos were taken during this one march: I demand photographic evidence of Ellinger's presence as a bodyguard. In the many photos I've seen of the march, MLK is arm-and-arm and outfront in the march. Where is Ellinger? Also, many of MLK's supporters went to jail for their cause, but not handcuffed to MLK, and not in the same cell. Ellinger's claim to have 'gone to jail' with MLK is political grandstanding and questionable. I believe Ellinger used this sad fabrication of heroics only when he decided to run -- now twice unopposed -- for office and wanted to make himself look like a big, strong, brave man. It's in extremely bad taste to claim to have been a bodyguard for Dr King, considering Dr King's violent and bloody assassination on the balcony of the motel. Where was Ellinger when he was needed? Modesty has never been one of Ellinger's major characteristics and now he seems to be reworking history for political gain. Check it out!

    2. Thank you for the positive feedback, Brock. Also, regarding the arrogant Mr Ellinger, I can tell you from personal knowledge of him that he has made for himself quite a reputation for being a progressive, enlightened, liberal what-not, giving voice to the disempowered and disenfranchised, but Ellinger is a bit of bully and has no reservations on disempowering, discrediting and hurting those who do not believe as he does. He is not the open-minded, tolerant, charitable image he projects, but a pure politician who never does anything except he takes the credit for it. A healthy democratic system needs a well-informed opposition and Ellinger was elected unopposed and unchallenged. Maybe this is why his physical and mental health were never challenged during his unopposed campaigns for office. He also claims to be an atheist and seems to have no spiritual life whatsoever, except power and politics. When he was just a private citizen, these personal matters were no one's business, but now that he is an elected public official, what he thinks and does is everyone's business.

  8. BTW....those of you saying "this won't go anywhere" are living a dream. Look at New York State. The fact that this marxist Ellinger was elected to the state house tells me Missouri is filled with leftists and collectivists. Look at the election and re-election of the scum soetoro-obama.

Wake up and smell the impending civil war. DO NOT dismiss this confiscation bill. If it fails others will follow both in Missouri and elsewhere.

    Prepare your range cards.

You are so correct, I hear to many in my community say it will never happen. I'd wager that's what the British and Austrailans thought also.

  9. Perhaps you will all agree that Ellinger's attempt to disarm Missouri was very badly managed, which tells me that he was quite politically inept, fundamentally not very bright. Not only were he and his lefty comrades defeated in this cause, it backlashed on them by causing a law that forever made it impossible to disarm law-abiding citizens. First they wanted to criminalize law-abiding citizens and then confiscate their private property without due compensation. Then there was a call for Ellinger's impeachment. Then he died a horrible death of aggressive liver cancer. All his years of alcohol abuse and poor nutrition finally caught up with him. I wonder why the political act of getting the bill regarding nursing mothers passed fell to him, a man. Where were the female politicians to get this law enacted? Anyway, he is out of our hair and lives forever. I can't say rest in peace and enjoy your heavenly reward, because Ellinger was a declared, overt, rabid atheist and believed it all ended in the grave. He went to his grave without ever providing objective independent verification of his dubious claim to have once been bodyguard to Dr King. No one has come forward as a witness and there are no photos of film of such activity. I feel rather sorry for his children who may live to discover that their heroic father was nothing of the sort.
