Opposition to Common
Core must be based on facts, not theories. The fact that Common Core
grants extraordinary power to the federal government and a handful of
Washington, D.C.- based groups is a necessary and sufficient reason to
oppose it. “Connect-the-dots” conspiracy theories diminish the
legitimacy of that opposition and, in the long run, will only strengthen
those who wish to broaden Common Core’s scope.
