1966 Chevrolet Nova SS 327/350 HP, 4-Speed

My buddy  had the same motor in his '65 Corvette.  Quick, fun to drive and the four speed shifted like it was in butter, much nicer than the Toploader in my '65 Hi-Po.

The Chevrolet Chevy II was introduced in 1962 as Chevy’s alternative to the economy-oriented Ford Falcon. Although its base engines were 4- and 6-cylinder units, hot rodders and drag racers took an immediate liking to the little car, which was intentionally designed to accept such powerplants as the Corvette’s high-winding 327 CI small block V-8. A largely cosmetic SS package followed in 1963, and in 1964 Chevrolet added a 283/195 HP V-8 to the option list along with a Muncie 4-speed, followed by 250 and 300 HP versions of the 327. But it wasn’t until 1966 that the factory finally reached into the parts bin to endow the little Chevy with real Corvette-grade power in the form of the RPO L79 327/350 HP V-8.

  1. I turned 16 in 66 and that was the car I wanted (except in RED).
Unfortunately my dad died that year, our whole world changed
and I had to stop being a boy that wanted stuff and start being a man.
    I still want one though.

    1. Sorry. Maybe you could find a 6 cheap and do it like you want without breaking the bank.
