Why My M1 Garand Blew Up

YouTuber theKGB65 is very lucky that he wasn’t seriously injured or killed after over-pressured Russian .308 ammunition sold under the Herter’s brand name failed in his T26 “Tanker” Garand, destroying the stock.

    1. Don't know and they are still selling it, so I would send them an email.

  3. What the "you tuber" seems to NOT know is that the "tanker" M-1 ,a rifle NEVER built or approved by ANY military;(originally "created" to take advantage of junk parts) is NOTORIOUS for severe malfunctions and K.B.'s. Once you "cut down" the Garand gas tube / op rod and barrel severe / catastrophic malfunction becomes inevitable. Add to that the fact that 50% of "tankers" are built with re-weld / condemned parts (ALL of the op rods are re-welds) , and I wouldn't be so quick to say "defect ammo" without an inspection of that novelty "weapon"---Ray

  4. Something I'd like to add Brock; Because of the short op rod, the "tanker" is notorious for ripping the heads off cases. For some reason this seems worse in the .308 than it is in the 30.06
