Soooo.....are you coming to Kommiefornia? If so we should do a face to face, and be careful. It looks like you will be traveling through the police state, uh, border control zone for a good portion of your trip.
I can leave contact info on your other mail if indeed you are coming here.

Safe travels and a happy return. My daughter has a house in Fallbrook. They're waiting to see if her husband gets transferred back to Pendleton, if they do they'll move back into it.
My daughter lives in Las Cruces, but it looks like you are passing through to Deming.
If you hungry on the way through Las Cruces, stop in Mesilla and eat at La Posta for some decent Mexico food and to visit the parrots.
If you want an adventure, from Deming go south to Columbus and check out the border. If you want to go to a Mexican prison for a couple years, then CCW across the border into Palomas.
:) Ha! Thanks and strangely enough I just received this email!
"I live about equal distance from El Paso and Las Cruces. If practical, I would meet you in either city of your choice and introduce you to real authentic Mexican food. Let me know what you think
Safe traveling sir, that stretch between Kerrville and El Paso will be scenic but looonnnggg, you feel like the world is rolling beneath the tires but you aren't going anywhere. Pretty though if you like the rurals.
If you are near Tempe, when you pass through Phoenix, please let me know. I might have my disability then, and would like to buy you a beverage(?) Regardless, safe travels!
Thank you and I see you are half way between overnighters for us, but also two hours from Nacogdoches where we will be staying for a week on the return, so that might work out better when there will be more time and thanks.
Nacogdoches is a beautiful place. Lots of history to be found there. Nac had nine different flags flown over her rather than the six for the rest of Texas. The flags included the Spanish, French, Gutierrez-Magee Rebellion, Dr. James Long Expedition, Mexican, Fredonia Rebellion, Lone Star, Confederate Stars & Bars and of course the United States of America. I hope to see some of your historical and educating posts after your visit there Brock. Safe travels Sir and enjoy.
Years ago, i made a road trip from L.A to Houston. While traveling between El Paso and Houston, the song "Miles and miles of Texas", became a reality to me.
Thanks and I just jotted it down. Supposed to be four hours from Breau Bridge LA to Brookshire TX on the other side of Houston, so leaving Breau Bridge at 10 or 11 would work, correct?

watch timing of traffic coming from Beaumont into Houston. I-10 is a bitch on that stretch for accidents...lots of construction.

DeleteSpeaking of traveling, I just saw the Confederate Battle Flag proudly flying over Interstate 24 south of Paducah Kentucky. Warms the heart
ReplyDeleteGood deal! Thanks.
