When I read or see these people who had been generational resident's of the Applalachian Mountains was when the rat FDR stole their land and those who refused to leave their land, their homes were burned to the ground and when the owners ran from the burning homes, they were shot by feds. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Some legacy, huh.

Yes and if you think about it, the children received the best education possible in the school of hard knocks. I would be proud to stand alongside them.

ReplyDeleteI would, too. Those kids could do the things that needed doing. You probably wouldn't find very many mollycoddles in the bunch, either.
