Long Live the Flags of Dixie!

 Confederat Flag

On May 19, the House of Reprehensibles passed a proposal that would essentially ban the display of Confederate flags from national cemeteries.  The amendment was added to a Veteran Affairs spending bill.

Not surprisingly, House Speaker Paul Ryan allowed the measure to be voted upon in hopes of not disrupting the appropriations process.  Yes, by all means Paul, the redistribution of taxpayers’ confiscated wealth should take precedent over a draconian attempt to eradicate a heroic symbol of the country’s past.  Hopefully, Ryan will be ousted this November as both Speaker and Congressman for not only his consistent sell out to Obummer and the Democrats on the budget, but his lack of understanding and appreciation of what is arguably the most important period of American history.

In a certain sense, the Confederate flag should not be displayed in national cemeteries or for that matter flown alongside those of the Union.  The two are representations of dramatically opposed political ideologies.

  1. Hi Brock,
I, just before I opened up your website, I was digging thru my tape archive, found a very "old one", put it on ..."Brother Dave Gardner..'Rejoice Dear Hearts'" then as Brother Dave starts talkin' ....I see.."Long live the Flags of Dixie!!!!!!" Co-incidence.....I doubt it!! Yes, I still have the "Vinal!!" As it turns out, Dave was invited to be "entertainment" at our local college...the local record store invited him over and he "autographed" all the albums of his they had........the one I bought was one of them.....I still have it!!
Dave has long since "gone on!!!" But his voice lives on!! Yes his "comedy" might sound "sacrilegious" to some of those of the South...but, going back a few years.....before most of ya'll were born!! ........Just remember.... (Taken from the back of "Did You Ever") is the comment....."Most modern 'Think' comedians merely milk our sacred cows; Gardner leads them off to the slaughterhouse!!" (Early 60's time frame)
I recall him some years ago appearing on the "Jack Parr Tonight Show" (Before Carson!!") LIVE he was something else!!..He had Jack in stitches !!! Then again...nobody remembers this because it was before they were born!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
    The "Old Man" still REMEMBERS!!!!!.
