NC: Savvy elementary school girl, 10, earns enough money wielding homemade crafts to buy her dream car

  Her mom told her she could start trying to make and sell things to fundraise for it 


  She makes home and garden decor out of old barn wood and sheet metal


  She raised the money to buy the teal-blue car in less than a year

  1. That's one little tyke that will probably go far in life. When I was that age I was too busy playing and spending any change that I had on penny candy and Cokes......................

    1. Nik-L-Nips. Those things were awful, but we always bought them for some reason. Those and wax lips. Not to mention candy cigarettes, penny pretzels and the candy dots on strips of paper...............

    3. oldtimecandy.com has Nik-L-Lips and all of the rest of that sugary-stuff that we used to consume as kids. My favorite was Root Beer Barrels. Wax Lips would make a wonderful Valentine gift depending on her sense of humor. Perhaps you should throw in some jewelry, as well.

  3. Someone from an SCV Camp in North Carolina should look into getting this young lady involved in the SAM DAVIS YOUTH CAMP in NC. She is destined for great things.
