Gowdy slams Strzok: 'I don't give a damn what you appreciate'

Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy tore into FBI official Peter Strzok during Thursday's hearing before the House oversight and judiciary committees, accusing him of "textbook bias" with his anti-Trump texts.

Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy tore into FBI official Peter Strzok during Thursday's hearing before the House oversight and judiciary committees, accusing him of "textbook bias" with his anti-Trump texts.

A lengthy and fiery exchange between the two ended with a sharp rejoinder from the former prosecutor.

After Strzok said he was booted from the Russia probe over an "appearance" issue and not because of "bias," he said he didn't appreciate Gowdy saying otherwise.

“I don’t give a damn what you appreciate, Agent Strzok,” Gowdy shot back. “I don’t appreciate having an FBI agent with an unprecedented level of animus working on two major investigations in 2016.”

  1. Peter had a hard time answering what "it" was.
A simple two letter word, and Peter gave a deceptive round about explanation.
It was angering and frustrating listening to him explain his texts and feelings didn't effect his job.

  2. After watching some of the testimony today (Around 90 minutes was all I could stomach) I came to a realization about Strzok and his ilk with regards to his/their use of words such as "patriotism", "Justice" and the ever-present "American people". To wit, They honestly believe in all of the above mentioned words, however THEIR definition/interpretation of these words differs greatly from the standard definition that the rest of us in the real world are familiar with. He considers himself a "patriot" because in his mind he's defending- not the Constitution and the oath that he swore to uphold from the forces of darkness- but the elites that gave him his position. The same with the "American people". As far as Strzok and his ilk are concerned, the "American people" are his fellow travelers in the establishment, as well as those in the elite who hold their leashes. Those who vote for same are considered useful idiots by people like Strzok.
As for the average person who may, or may not have voted for Trump? Well Strzok made his opinions of those people quite plain in his text to his paramour Ms. Page. They don't consider us Americans, in fact I'd wager they don't even consider us people, I know they consider us a threat to their way of life and that we are in fact their enemy. Not only do they consider us a foreign people - remnants of a bygone era, the "old" America if you will - as evidenced in today's testimony, as well as his texts, we don't even speak a common language anymore. When I was growing up, patriotism meant loyalty to the country - not the government - to them "patriotism" is protecting the establishment. And justice? Please! To them, "justice" is what happens to people like us when we have the absolute, unmitigated gall to question anything that they do.
