Comment on: Trump ponders 'emergency' powers to build border wall: 'I can do it if I want'

Trumps claims that he can invoke Emergency Powers to build the wall is NOT a bluff....and the left KNOWS this. That is why they are screaming so loudly that he CANNOT do so in the effort to fool the populace into thinking he can't.
However thanks to Dubya the Shrub who signed The Patriot Act and Obozo the SCOAMF doing the bidding of his puppet master Jarrett ( and with the happy and willing compliance of Congress) created dozens of new rules and orders to expand Executive Power we now have a situation where the President can, if he chooses do pretty much ANYTHING he want to. Of course when the "deep state" was creating this situation they truly believed they would ALWAYS own and control whoever controlled the White House. They did not believe anyone like Trump would come along and take the office and not bow down to them. So yes....Trump CAN build the wall via the plenipotentiary power he has thanks to the conniving and plotting of the bureacracy.

  1. W already know that no matter what the President does, and no matter how solid his authority to do it is, there is at least one activist judge who will tell him he can't. So far, trump has accepted court rulings. In effect, we have a constitutional president plus a hundred people who can each over-rule him on a whim. Where were the courts when Obama was president?

  2. Anything done like this should be according to the Constitution. If it were to be done, Trump should cite Article IV Section 4 that "the United States SHALL...protect the States against Invasion". I'm stunned that he hasn't cited it since his detractors say he's violating the Constitution or instigating a " Constitutional crisis". I generally support what he's doing, but like most elected officials, I think he's basically ignorant of the Constitution, specifically that he and all government officials operate UNDER enumerated delegated powers. That is the position of an EMPLOYEE obeying their job description and performing the duties thereof. --Ron W

  3. OUTSTANDING!! Use their word/works against them. EXCELLENT! IMHO on or about 02/18/2019 or perhaps earlier, the SCHITT WILL HIT THE ARTICULATING ROTARY COOLING DEVICE. STOP-GAP Budget ends thereabouts. When was the last time that Congress passed an actual full fledged BUDGET, on time and complete? MeTHINKS, it has been decades.

Good question and I know we were using CRA's every year I worked for the Embassy (DAO) in Vietnam '73 - '75.

  4. The us department of defense is funded under the 2019 national defense authorisation act, not a CRA. That's why DOD isn't part of this shutdown. There were similar burgers in 2017 and 2018. But none for the 8 previous years. Hmmm. I wonder what changed....
