Sen. Cornyn Reintroduces National Concealed Carry Reciprocity Legislation

National Concealed Carry Reciprocity is back on the table thanks to Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), who reintroduced legislation this week that would allow licensed concealed carriers to bear arms in all 50 states.

“This bill focuses on two of our country’s most fundamental constitutional protections– the Second Amendment’s right of citizens to keep and bear arms and the Tenth Amendment’s right of states to make laws best-suited for their residents,” said Sen. Cornyn of S.69, the Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act.

“I look forward to working with my colleagues to advance this important legislation for law-abiding gun owners nationwide,” he added.

  1. Maybe Senator Cornyn should cross the aisle and talk to Dianne Feinstein so they can combine their efforts into one unified bill. I recently heard the California Senator also introduced a "bang-up" gun bill. /sarc. off/

I am sure Trump wished he had gotten rid of Ryan at the beginning. Too bad.

  3. often, supposed liberals (actually leftists) hearken back to slavery re: current issues. Well then, here is an excerpt from the majority opinion of the U.S. Supreme Court Dred Scott decision keeping black people as non-citizens and subject to slavery. Notice the reasoning to keep them in slavery involving First and Second Amendment rights:

"If black people were entitled to the privileges and immunities of citizens, it would exempt them from the special laws and from the police regulations which southern States considered to be necessary for their own safety.
It would give to the persons of the Negro race, who were recognized as citizens in any one State of the Union...THE FULL LIBERTY OF SPEECH IN PUBLIC and in private upon all subjects upon which its own citizens might speak; to hold public meetings upon political affairs, AND TO KEEP AND CARRY ARMS WHEREVER THEY WENT.
And all of this would be done in the face of the subject race of the same color, both of free and slaves, inevitably producing discontent and insubordination among them, and endangering the peace and safety of the State."

--1857 SCOTUS, Dred Scott vs. Sanford, majority opinion, keeping black people as non citizens and slaves.

They knew that the 2nd Amendment protected the right of the People "to carry arms everywhere they went" to which this national CCW is precisely pursuant. -- Ron W

  4. Cornyn is doing this for self serving reasons. It has ZERO chance of getting through the House as long as PeLousy runs the House. If the RINOS couldn't/wouldn't pass this when they controlled Congress it sure as hell isn't happening now. The question being WHY is Cornyn doing this now....he has some ulterior motive. What is that motive.

Nothing else to do, I guess.

    2. My thoughts exactly.

Me thinks he's desperately trying to pad his resume for his next reelection.

      Weasel.

  5. Now that they have divided government, it safe to play to both sides and no posibility if it becoming a real law. Worthless c@nts. I wonder how much longer both sides will think they can get away with this.

      Good point.

  6. Cornyn may be bringing this up now as a "poison pill" to include with anti-gun bills to prevent them from passing or as a negotiating ploy to weaken anti gun measures??

    1. If that is the case, we should thank him for his strategy. Thanks.
