Special Prosecutor Appointed In Jussie Smollett Investigation

 Jussie Smollett

A Chicago judge appointed a special prosecutor on Friday morning to lead the investigation into the handling of the Jussie Smollett case.

Cook County Judge Michael Toomin appointed former U.S. Attorney Dan Webb to the position to investigate the way the case was handled — specifically, why the 16 criminal charges against Smollett were dropped and to potentially reinstate the charges or even add additional charges against Smollett.

  1. Reckon he'll have the Obama's, Sen Kamala Harris and other notable politicians and celebs as character witnesses if his case goes to trial? Or will Jussie be desposable to be "thrown under the bus"? --Ron W

      My vote.

  2. Maybe Muller will step in and, with his usual mundane flair declare: There's not enough evidence to say Jussie's guilty, but we can't exonerate him either.

    1. The two men that he paid admitted it was a farce, as I remember....?

    2. Brock, my comment was mocking Mueller's report on Trump's "Russia collusion" which had a similar statement.

  3. Mueller didn't know that prosecutors don't exonerate, they just don't prosecute which means "not guilty". Otherwise, one is "innocent until proven guilty". "We can't exonerate him" (Trump) was a political verdict in favor of impeachment. But now it looks like there are some lies in the Mueller report, so "we can't exonerate" Mueller. --Ron W
