If Democrats want a sneak preview of how any attempted “mandatory gun buyback” in America will go down, all they need to do is take a look at the total failure of the recent bump stock ban.

After a bump stock was used in the 2017 Las Vegas shooting, the devices were eventually made illegal. The final ban came in December 2018.

Thanks to a Freedom of Information request from The Washington Times, we can finally see how effective a government-mandated ban on a firearm device really is.

And the results aren’t pretty for anyone wanting to confiscate guns, magazines or firearm accessories from Americans.

  1. Just curious on how the ATF is going to make it illegal to hook a thumb in a belt loop for an improvised bump-stock?

    1. Liberals plan to Ban belts & belt-loops and then only suspenders would be legal. Just ask Beto.

    2. I had to cut all my beltloops off my pants. :(

    3. Since their goal is total confiscation, your point is moot. Neither belt loop norecrubber band matters if you have no firearms.

    4. if you have no firearms.

True but fat chance of that happening.:)

  2. As the narrative creeps ever more towards speaking in tones of certainty, ie, the LV shooter used a bump stock, the more likelihood that people will adopt it as the truth.

The fact of the matter is there have been various accounts given of the event. All accounts were from official sources such as LVPD, Sheriff, or FBI. All accounts differ substantially. These differences are not the result of updates as more is known over the passage of time.

The subject at hand is did the shooter use a bump stock? The answer is no, yes, or unknown as to it's probability; the answer depends upon which account is consulted.

Every video (at least two dozen, and all performed by experienced shooters) I have seen of a bump stock being used for automatic fire shows multiple problems with extraction of casings or the shooter not properly engaging the bump stock during the entire time of firing. The result is regular semi-auto rate of fire exceeds that of when a bump stock is used. ('one squeeze, one boolit')

Too, a bump stock results in wide field of fire. Given that the shooter was on the 34th floor and shooting at a distance of 300 yards or more, the use of a bump stock should have resulted in a pattern of, I don't know, perhaps 100 yards across.

Some official accounts say that the shooter used a bi-pod. Does a bump stock work as intended (increased rate of fire) with a bi-pod?

It would be great if pants actually caught on fire when they lied.

  3. You say that only 1% of bump stocks have been turned in to BATFE. So it is no doubt that the other 99% of the bumbstock owners destroyed theirs at home, the way that BATFE specified. Because of course there is no way that gun owners would not follow illegal and unconstitutional edicts from the government.
